Sims 2 and Sims 3 are like a team for me. They are unique in their own way unlike Sims 4 which is mediocre in every way

tbf to the sims 3. being an open world if the big trees could catch on fire that would be hell to have a geuine forest fire randomly out in the world

Can we also just point out how terrible the fire itself looks in Sims 4. It looks like a bunch of identical copy and paste effects placed side by side, whereas the other fires look like a whole organic thing.

Sims 2 has a bug which when a tree is burning, the fire won't stop and you can't do nothing, if you call the fire department, you'll get fined. When I play, usually the tree is hit by a lightning and - sometimes - using the "force error" (testingcheatsenabled) option does not work. I guess this may be the reason trees do not catch fire anymore in later games...

Overall, I think The Sims 3 wins this comparison. However, The Sims 2's tree burning is better.

Sims 3 somehow has an edge over 2 in this round. The soot on the ground, the charred objects when it burns and puddles actually dried up FIRST before fire spreads makes more sense.

This is so dystopian, you’d think they’d keep on innovating as they progress, but whenever they release a new game / update, it’s several steps back. Fucking weird.

TS2 beats TS1 (no need for any mods, fires are brutal in TS1). TS2 beats TS4 (except maybe for the snow soot). TS3 beats TS2 (except for plants and Trees, which TS2 takes that prize). TS3 smashes TS4 (what is up with its puddle jumping?).

Was the burning tree in TS3 part of the lot that was on fire or part of the world itself? Cause if it's part of the world, I don't think it's gonna burn since it's not considered an object inside the lot.
