HELLO FROM GHANA. I truly had a lot of fun making this video inside one of the crazy places to be in Ghana - Africa. The markets in Ghana can be overwhelming and hectic when you have just moved from the west. There are people constantly in your way, people selling various things, people haggling etc. Never the less, I have with me just under 4 us dollars and we are going to cook a Ghanaian meal with it. I hope you enjoy x

Well, sister, not only do I give you a thumbs up every time but I also endure the ads just so I'm helping you. It's the least I can do in appreciation for your soothing content. I want to do my part in helping your channel succeed so you can keep bringing us more of you and all of the good stuff as you remind us to follow our bliss.

Loved the stew and Aisha’s cameo, great to see you responding to the G Floyd issue so naturally and not jumping on the band wagon without thought. If you decide to broach it at a time suitable for you we are here to hear you, else your prayers towards the bigger picture will suffice.... Just keep following your bliss.

By the size and look of the vegetables I'm pretty sure it's organic. In the U.S. the same vegetables in the grocery store would be LARGE and tasteless, but the ones from the farmers market or home grown looks like what she purchased.

Thank you for this video I love this type of content. I love the recipes but more so to see how much things really cost for day-to-day living in Ghana. There’s a lot of different perspectives on daily living in Ghana I understand it depends on the lifestyle you want to live and where you want to live. So please can you show us more about the general area you are in and the difference between going to a market and going to a grocery store. Also if you are growing things yourself what are some of the things you can grow on your compound that produces well and that you can use as they are ripening. Like what trees are preferred as far as fruit trees and when picking trees for your compound are there certain ones that attract more ants and things like that? I know it’s a lot but these are some of the questions I’m having and I just thought I would throw the video ideas out there if it’s something you would be interested in. Again thank you so much and I do love egg stew God bless you

AMA, I forgot to give you this tip. When buying from Ghanaian markets, avoid taking a seller as your customer. Vary the people you buy the same commodity from everyday as much as possible. A constant customer in any commodity will initially give you good bargain for some time. He or she will start cheating you later.

    In Canada:
    one egg would be about 0.26 X 4 =. $1.04
    6 tomatoes would be...........................$2.39
Huge piece of ginger would be...........$1.30
Small bag of rice would be..................$1.25
    Bag of onion (2lb) ................................$2.49
Oil for one litre at dollar store ..............$2.00
    Total almost $10.48

My boyfriend lives in Ghana and I visit him there often and going to the market is one of my favorite things to do. Also, egg stew is one of my most favorite dishes! My boyfriend taught me how to prepare it. He makes it a little different and we add smoked fish to it as well. Since I returned to the States, I've made it like 10 times....lol

Keep the local market shopping vlogs coming. Loving them totally. I draw so much inspiration from them and your approach to living economically in an expensive city. Your vlogs reminds me so much of why it is unnecessary to spend silly money in shopping malls, when for a fraction of the price, you can get quality ingredients to cook nutritrious meals in the local markets. As well as boosting the local economy for the average market woman. Preach on girl. I am converted!!

I have been to Ghana. Its a nice country. I live in Panama now. Panama reminds me of Ghana. You don't need to travel all the way to Africa to live the same lifestyle. Panama is pretty much the same. For the average North American, this life style is a little crude. They bore easily. They cannot tolerate it for very long. They move back to the US. No matter what anyone says, most folks get bored of living a minimalist lifestyle. It's a life that only a few Gringo's can acclimate too. I find the lifestyle to be less stressful and I have adapted to it. Been in Panama for a very long time. If you want to live a modern lifestyle and have modern housing in Ghana I would imagine it would be pretty expensive. It is in Panama.
