Without a doubt, England made their high level of experience and performance noticeable, against a team that is participating in a world championship for the first time. For the Los Cóndores (Chile) team, each match is a new experience from which to learn lessons. Let's not forget that when Japan played England for the first time, the score was: England 61 - Japan 7. In the 2023 World Cup, the result was not so bulky: England 34 - Japan 12, which means that the Japanese have accumulated experience since they began to develop this sport in their country. The same will happen with Chile after this World Cup, which despite losing 71 - 0 against England, sixth in the world ranking, showed a desire to play and even until the 20th minute of the first half, showed itself at the same level as its adversary. Then the errors began in the Chilean team, for which in rugby they pay dearly. If a project were carried out in Chilean rugby to have more teams participating in a professional league, such as Selknam, the level of Chilean rugby would have better competitiveness at an international level, as is the case with Argentine rugby. Cheer up Cóndores! We are proud of you and keep going to remain among the 22 best teams in the world.
The Japan analogy is a bit flawed when you look at the number of non-native Japanese that represent that country now. Not saying that is a problem, but it is a large part of the reason they perform so much better in international rugby now.

Chile doesnt have the depth to compete fully at a world cup yet. Having only one professional team and only a few players in europe they dont have the squad depth. So after playing against japan and samoa and giving it all, playing a tier 1 the following week (and argentina the next) with barely any break will show the fatigue of the players who arent used to playing at such an intense level every week. Also the fact that 3 players already got injured (once again less squad depth). Maybe if they played england first or second it would have been a 30-0 or a closer more entertaining match, but im not suprised at this result, and it should be the same against argentina next weekend (the fatigue will be at its highest)

Harry Arundell has to start, he’s Englands best try scorer/finisher. Marcus Smith could start at fly half or fullback and have George Ford at 10 or 12. Manu 13 and bigger left wing.
This was a nice warm up match to watch, the proper contest is about to begin. As a neutral Im hoping for a good match as its being billed to be, but I hope Ireland win.

The way the groups were made, England makes it to the finals without too much trouble. Meanwhile, the other top teams are taking each other out with groups A and B going head to head. Very convenient for England.
England need to be careful not to do too much self congratulation for this win. Effectively, was an international side versus what amounts to not much more than club side. Nevertheless, it’s good to see them performing like a truly international side after the rather flat period on the run-up to this. It’s not often a Scot wants to support England, but they now look like going to the semifinals at least if they keep going in this cohesive manner.
Allow me to remember that since England lost 21 to 29 against Banco Nación in 1990, an argentine "club side", they never ever again dared to expose themselves to be shamed so..... England are lucky the draw put them is a relatively easy pool. Otherwise they would have been exposed very early as a mediocre team.

Wow the torns of the English roses couldn't get clipped hay I still wish for a Springboks vs England replay final
i was surprised that they didn´t score til the minute 20´
Arundel was MOTM, no question!😊😊😊
Harry Arundell has to start, he’s Englands best try scorer/finisher.
Marcus Smith could start at fly half or fullback and have George Ford at 10 or 12. Manu 13 and bigger left wing.
I know people might say "well its Chile" but no one else scored 5 tries that day and no other England player has done it before.
What a thrashing!
This was a nice warm up match to watch, the proper contest is about to begin. As a neutral Im hoping for a good match as its being billed to be, but I hope Ireland win.
Either way, both sides should qualify unless Ireland lose tonight and then maybe Scotland might sneak through in 2nd place. Personally, I’d love to see Scotland join South Africa in the quarters.

England are slowly starting to put this together. They could be the tournament dark horse.
Hard to say. Twenty years ago, they were stomping pretty much any nation unfortunate enough to play the for a good year to eighteen months before the World Cup. This England team have struggled a lot by comparison.
Anyone know why the guys from Rugby 7’s circuit are commentating for this World Cup ? They are completely different games.
Chile is probably the only team were most of (if not all) its players don’t live or receive a paycheck from playing rugby. These are regular desk job guys. This is like in soccer, a university local team plays against Manchester United first team.
Wonderful, so we beat Chile??
Yep, we've beaten by a muslim nation...
Funny how when Ireland beat Romania by a similar scoreline, their performance was lauded as magnificent, and they were commended for beating a much lower ranked team as if they'd won the world cup. However, since then England have faced much tougher competition than Ireland have yet after this scoreline people continue to put England down, say that the scoreline ahould have been bigger and criticise England. It's the ABE crowd at it as usual. Anyway, continue hating us, we relish it, nice to know we are living rent free in peoples' minds. Stay angry.
100%
Pathetic hypocrites. Tiz all! Can only play the game in front of you.
It's always been like that Rugby or football Celtic nations brave stoic tactically brilliant inventive England predictable boring 2nd 3rd class opposition
It’s ABE for me every single match. All the England fans crowing about humping Chile just cements the fact that England have zero class.
Treat it what it is, school playground banter. Just have fun with it. Only a handful of people really mean it maliciously and they tend to be the bitter sort that nobody likes anyway.
Anyone able to tell me whats with the England reserve players in the ingoal while play is on, is this allowed in Rugby?

Great experience for Chile, the only way to improve is to play with the best!…

After France beating Namibia, I saw a lot of comments from SA fans, feeling sorry for the Namibian, that France should have stopped this humiliation blablabla
But where are they now???
Smith!
Lmao. you muppet.
