    As an owner and lover of 2 g3t's myself (a right hander and left hander I switched to right hand)
    I can wholly agree with you, possibly the best guitar ever made.
    I take one everywhere!

    great playing ! what exact weight of this guitar and price?

      Thanks. I weighed it and it's approximately 2.59kg. Dunno what that is in pounds. Really really adore these guitars! 👍👍👍

    Is that a combo headpiece? Did these come stock or is it a replacement?

    • @jonnycapes
      @jonnycapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hiya, it's a string adaptor that just sits on the end of the stock headpiece so you can use single ball end strings (they are clamped down with little grub screws and then u cut the string ends off). I got these from a UK Shop about 6 months ago after waiting for over 2 years for any stock anywhere in the world. All stock was sold out globally in about a week, so good luck trying to get one... 😕 There is a chap in Ireland who sells combo headpiece on ebay - they're expensive but look very well made.

    Is this your defter and paf combo? Sounds very very nice.

      Hiya, yes it’s got the Dimarzio 36th anniversary in bridge and Defter Fat 50s (handmade pups from Russia) in middle and neck. All really nice pickups 👍

    how would you compare the neck to the steinberger? these are so hard to come by.

    • @jonnycapes
      @jonnycapes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for commenting. The neck on these are very similar to the Steinberger spirit - they’re a quite chunky C shape I’d say but I find them comfortable, although I do have a much older g3t whose neck is like a baseball bat (but still surprisingly comfortable) & another one whose neck is very slim and narrow, so I do think they have varied over the years they were produced. I do find the necks comfortable on all of them but they’re certainly very different to the likes of an Ibanez wizard neck or something. Never played a ‘proper’ Newburgh Steinberger so can’t compare they to one of those. Hope that’s of some use??

    my absolute favorites too... I use 0.09 strings in Eb or even as far as C#

    • @jonnycapes
      @jonnycapes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really stoked u love these too! And I also use 0.09s and always tune down to D or C# standard too! 👍 I much prefer the sound and feel of looser, floppier strings.

      @@jonnycapes Your sound is really nice. What amp are you using?

      @@mk7073 I use all my steimberger bridges in fixed position... If there is ever a cheap mod to be fixate them permanently I would do so. They are so super stable when fixed ... I've got one replaced by a Jcustom bridge too, but I actually don't think is better then the original bridge. Just a good solution for a worn out one.

      @@wimrocknsad for this vid I recorded direct line-in to my ipad using Bias fx 2 for all the amp tones. Listening back now there's a few of the tones I think sound bad but it's too late now! Bias fx is a great bit of software for IOS though.

      @@jonnycapes I had one way back in the late 80s and it was a great guitar except for the pickups they were crap!
      I modified it so that it only had a bridge pickup a Seymour Duncan 59n double screw with a ALNICO 3 RC mag.
      I sold it when i got my first custom Bill Delap guitar.

    • @jonnycapes

      Bonjour! I have looked at the HB Dulahan - look nice but have seen a few dodgy reviews so might wait for the next gen ones. I have just bought an Ibanez q54 headless and that is really grrrrreat! Did a small review on pootube just today.

      I’ve currently got 5 of these (all different pickups so they don’t all sound the same!), had my oldest one since 1991. I love this design - purely functional and sooooo ergonomic! 👌👌👌
