    First, the ease of string change is welcome. I cannot even change a string on the new Floyd Rose. Secondly, that is exactly where the volume knob should be for harping. Which I do all the time. You put your pinky on the knob, tirn it off, strike a note, and roll up volume. Repeat. What I wish is I could get it scalloped. Mine is here Friday!

    I have one too (even in the same colour thou). It is my "permenantly Travelcompangion" and usually I don't leave the house without a guitar, which mostly is the steinberger.
    The original Bag is unfortunatly not so durable. But the Bass Ukulele Gigbag from Thoman fits perfectly and is a real upgrade!

      @@leonbrownmusic If you carry the Git around everytime you leave the house as I do, this time will come early.
      Evenmore I recommend the Bass Uke Gigbag, because you can fit much more EDCs in it like Waterbottle, Travelmug, small umbrella etc etc.

    @Leon - That's some nice and tasty playing on the intro!
    I have a 2001-ish black Spirit that I paid about $250 USD for, and it's travelled around the world as a perfect vacation guitar. The stock pickups did suck, and were replaced by some Seymour Duncans which made the guitar really sing. The bridge's trem arm socket eventually got worn and its tightening screw mechanism got real wonky, so I'd advise you to be aware of that possible issue. A replacement bridge costs about the same as a new guitar which is a real bummer.

      @@TechnoRiff thank you man. And yea I can see a few potential wear points on the trem but I'm really impressed with the design of the thing!

      @@leonbrownmusic Absolutely! It's a brilliant design and sort of a shame that Gibson doesn't seem to want to promote and support it after buying Steinberger.
      I picked up a Kiesel Zeus a few years back, and it's playability is just fantastic - its Hipshot trem is one the of best I've played and seems to be much more rugged.

      I just viewed your Kiesel unboxing vid, and wanted to weigh in with my one and only build experience - posting here since there is much hate there.
      Had to send mine back twice - first was due to them changing the builder's particular blue color right after I'd ordered - guitar was nothing like shown => they expedited a complete rebuild. Second time was due to the trem bridge rubbing against the side of its cavity. After they fixed that, my guitar has been quite fantastic.

      @TechnoRiff I kept mine and it's still great.aybe I need to do an update vid on it to answer all the negativity in those comments.

    I bought a lefty one of these. It arrived with the neck pickup not working. Since it was under warranty, I sent it to the Gibson repair shop. Three weeks later it came back. This time the bridge pickup didn't work. Needless to say, no more Gibson products for me.

    I wonder if the pickups were changed with the change to Gibson ownership. I've got a Steinie Spirit Pro from around 2006 and the pickups are EMG Selects. They've always sounded the bollocks for me, allowing me to confidently use the Steinie as a backup for any material. Think they replicate the EMGs of the 80's pretty well as the whole principle of the Steinie was to be pretty "neutral" in sound.

      @leonbrownmusic  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rockstud611 They are definitely not EMG!

    Are there intonation problems? There's something just a little off on the lick at 24s

    • @leonbrownmusic
      @leonbrownmusic  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@alanmackenzie476 Out of the box the intonation was just not set up. However the bridge is a great bit of design and a doddle to intonate. Tbh I can't remember if I shot that clip before or after I sorted it so you may be correct or it may just be me being sloppy but don't have concerns about the instrument. It works and intonates very well.

      @leonbrownmusic thanks - sloppy playing is allowed! I prefer to hear the odd mistake rather than these 'in a mix' reviews where everything is tweaked and produced.
