    Q:What camera do you use?
    A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
    Q: How big Is your rotator?
    A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
    Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
    A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
    Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
    A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
    Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
    A: Currently more than 30
    Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
    A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

    Whew last time my tractor trailer was towed it was below zero and shoulder was tight to highway. Cold , no heat and that truck shook with every tractor that raced by so close. Was so happy to see my tow truck driver! Four mile s from customer. Lucky they had (one of our) old spotter s , so unhook and tow truck took off w/tractor. Now I got to know everyone s life story and finally another tow truck brought me a running truck. So after a 4+ hour delay deadhead back to park for day. Great vid, stay safe!

      There are videos of him dealing with trucks with the same problem (a few newish freightliners, one if I remember correctly had a title containing freightliner cascadia 2019...), they just insert tow pins and lift the front using the winch on the boom (or crane if you will on the rotator) hooking the tow pins, then they slide the under lift out under the axle and done....

  • @typashley5394

    Also, you might want to get a warning light like amazon item B07FSF9XRB or B07JJMB42D. Something to be left of the hardshoulder or behind the breakdown vehicle.

    • @timothybarney7257
      @timothybarney7257 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You ALWAYS pull the drive line, you cannot spin the output shaft of hardly ANY transmission under tow without risk of burning up the transmission due to lack of lubrication. If it was a 4WD with a transfer case that can be shifted to neutral, you might be able to get away with it, but even that isn't an absolute as some models may still require you to drop the drive shaft(s).
