Have you ever read The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan? If not, I highly recommend it for vampires returned to their horror roots. They’re more of a vampire-zombie hybrid, I’d say-true monsters. It can get pretty scary and gory, though, so read at your own risk!
I read Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier and The Arrangement by Robyn Harding, both great! I wouldn’t say they are thrillers but they are good suspense books! Taking notes from this video! 👌🏻 Thanks for sharing.
Yes "The One" was very soap opera-ish, that's why I liked it. I don't know if the author could do a sequel to this or maybe spin-off one of the characters because all of them were so interesting.
I enjoyed the first half of Mexican Gothic but then it got too weird for me. I did love the atmosphere though and the character Noami was interesting and fun.
I've read Mexican Gothic and Sundiwn Motel and enjoyed them. TBR Night Swim, The Shadows, The Guest List, and Home Before Dark. I keep hearing about Southern Vampires and am intrigued.
I don't read a lot of Thrillers but I have REALLY been wanting to read the One. It keeps being sold to me as an episode of Black Mirror and that just excites me!

My favourite thriller which name I cannot remember was about twins. One of them had gotten killed (don't remember how) and the mother is confused about which one of the twins IS left alive. It takes place on an Island in Britain. If anyone knows what book it IS please tell me because i really want to read it again. I am fascinated by twins in stories. Currently reading The Au pair.It"s about twins who Are no longer- sure If they Are related. Would recommend that book. Have you read the Turn of the Key and the Nesting? Would recommend them. You should definitely read The Whisper Man! I've read both The Whisper Man and The Shadows and The Whisper Man is definitely my favorite, a 5 star for me. Im also a baby when it comes to thrillers but I highly recommend!
Mystery Thrillers are one of my top favourite genres following Horror. I thought southern book club was okay but I am looking forward to reading My Best Friends Exorcism soon. I'm disappointed I couldn't get my hands on Home Before Dark as it sounds incredible! I thought Mexican Gothic was fantastic- I'll definetely re read it again- it was kinda gothic horror.
I'm about 30% of the way through Mexican Gothic and I'm bored. Nothing has happened so far. Yes, the house has a creepy vibe and the family is weird, but plot wise, nada. I sincerely hope the pace picks up a bit. It's not so bad that I won't finish it, but it's very draggy. I'm glad you liked it. I'm hoping that's how I end up feeling by the end. Keep up the great videos!
You should read or listen like I did to What Lies Between Us by John Marrs! It’s sooo good and so many twists and turns. It’s one of my Favorites. The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson if your haven’t already Before She Knew him by Peter Swanson. I love Thrillers.

Women are dying everyday in this country and around the world and to glorify a potential serial killer, sex stalker is plain wrong. I want to try your first book though aloha

Heather, just be warned Karin Slaughter writes some VERY intense, gory, scary stuff. It’s definitely not horror-lite.
