@@josieherrera9017 yeah, I understand pork barrel bills and spending, but I guess my point was more that there is no way they can justify that cost per student at the poor rate of education it results in... meanwhile they offer homeschooling credits that are a few thousand dollars in most states and their testing scores are far better on avg. Thus, imagine if homeschooling had those resources. One of the best ways to make others desire more from their govt is to make them aware of better possibilities that are practical.

Wow that is my High School - James Madison, graduated 2002. It was a great school in a very nice neighborhood. I'd be in shock if my daughter would go there now. So glad we moved out of New York and everyone who i know in Brooklyn, can't wait to retire and leave this city. What are you thinking bringing immigrants at such coppacities to the one of the most expensive and already over crowded city !? Most of them will never even affird to move out, they will sit on unemployment for the rest of the life, living in free housing, free health insurance and free food on our tax dollars. Remote learning is destroying kids, and how is this a solution? Absolutely ridiculous. The schools already got paid for the year for those kids, the teachers already got paid, the administration already got paid. So they can just decide on a whim. "Parents, you can stay home from work and do our jobs for us right, oh and don't complain or ask to sit in on the lesson because we don't want you knowing what we're indoctrinating your children with." Public school system is a mess, and this really isn't helping any.

People who don't choose remote learning shouldn't have to deal with it. Remote learning works for some kids well with schools of their choosing with parents that are equip to be home to co teach with their teachers. What these parents are going through is absolute BS. They didn't choose this, these schools are not funded or equip to teach these kids remote.
My sisters school relies on remote days instead of snow days. Last year was a life saver for them as the snow and wind was so bad they were out a month. Now did the kids learn anything…debatable. Did it matter well seeing how the kids don’t learn even in the classroom at that school it probably didn’t matter.
That’s unfortunately the state of the educational system. My sister’s students know they can do nothing all year and that they will pass due to the no fail policy. So most don’t bother on a normal day.

My daughter and daughter in law are school teachers. After COVID when kids went back to school, the kids were so far behind that it took the whole year to try and catch them up. And didn’t Trump already fix illegal immigration? Trump said he would over and over and had a Republican majority. Biden kept some Trump policies, like de-coupling and restricting China….so why is there still illegal immigrants if Trump solved it as he promised?

I'm 55 years old due to health issues I cannot work 5 days a week once or twice a month I go to food banks to sit there for 2 hours and get grocery store expired food I cannot get any state assistance because I earn too much..... and these mfers get free rent free meals free healthcare free cell phones and cash

I hate to see any child suffer and any family in a desperate situation. However, crippling American schools and making legal immigrant and American children an afterthought is ridiculous. My husband and I are spending years and money going through the immigration system LEGALLY. We keep getting slapped in the face with delays and paperwork while this is happening.
It’s heartbreaking. Illegal migrants stepping ahead of the line is wrong in so many ways.

I live in Kenosha Wisconsin. They closed 5 schools in my city , 2(so far) of which are going to be housing Illegal Immigrants. This has effected where my son will be going to school along with the rest of the students. Months ago they made an announcement that schools were closing due to decline in enrollment. This was a disguised reason being that the true reason has just been revealed. It isnt due to decline in enrollment. They are using the SCHOOLS to house these illegal immigrants and putting our children AND our own homeless problem on the back burner.
We as tax payers need to stop paying our taxes and filing for them because were all being robbed blind to help people who arent even from this country!
It's a crying shame as many of NYC kids rely on the school system for their breakfast and lunch. For some it's their only really good meal of the day! Spring can't come fast enough.
