Just to add a comment on a little bit of history for the series from what little I know: Basically Piltover (the really fancy place) and Zaun (the slums place) used to be the same city of Zaun. They wanted to capitalise on their geographical location by building a canal to join two seas together and tax those who use it, which would bring in a lot of income as the routes usually took them a long way around. However the construction went wrong along the way, and the land and water became contaminated with toxic products, which also led to a toxic smog, and the water is still toxic in the show (hence why nobody dove into the water to get the stuff they stole, and the enforcers wearing gas masks). Those who could afford it built further and further up to live above the toxic smog, leaving those who couldn't afford it behind, and that caused the separation that created Piltover and Zaun, as opposed to just Zaun like they used to be called before, and the divides between them have become worse over time.
Very nice of you doing this and giving arcane a chance. They seriously put a lot of work on this show and it is truly amazing, kinda sad that many people won't give it a chance cause it is an animation.
In case a summary was needed, basically, the setting of this show is in two different cities. Piltover and Zaun. Piltover is literally above Zaun, hence why they call it Northside/Topside. Zaun is where Vi, Powder, and the rest of the main gang grew up. Piltover is the city of progress and science, and it is very technologically advanced and fancy, while Zaun is left in the nasty sumps with a radioactive atmosphere and tons of crime all around.
I love how every reaction to Vander mentioning the footchase every reactor is like ‘idk who did that, but it sure wasn’t these kids! They’re innocent. I tell ya!’
People who've only played the game: "Oh, so Jinx's name was Powder when she was little!" People who've only watched the show: "Oh, so Powder's gonna be named Jinx when she grows up!"
Jinx`s real name was revealed to be Powder by one of Ekko`s interactions in Legends of Runeterra when Arcane was in development in 2014. He also mentions he had a crush on Powder before she went insane, became Jinx and started talking to her guns.
I`m pretty sure her toy monkey being called "Pow-pow"and her tendency to end sentences in "Durr" were kinda a hint at Jinx`s true name in her fucked-up, scattered mind in the Games.

Where someone might have gotten the idea to rob you? Oh you made a display of wealth by paying in Gold in an undercity pawn shop eh, let's look there first.). So it's all Ekko's fault really.
Joey, you should watch the next episodes with subtitles, I know it's in English already but the subtitles help you remember character names more easily. Anyways thanks for the vid, hope you enjoy the rest of the series! 😁
I hope you keep up with this series and do videos on it. Episode 1 was IMO a little on the slow side, but does a great job setting up the setting, characters, and putting some stakes in place.
