now whenever i come back to this i get emotional damage you can actually see the desperation as her mask slightly falls off for a moment and she's scrambling to put it back on asap to protect her own people at the cost of her happiness and freedom of her own free will. she's so pure and kind, my heart hurts so much rn.
Now that I saw a compilation of how she reacts and finished both archon quests, she literally looks like most people in real life who have anxiety or have a burden but tried to hide it by looking "CONFIDENT" and "ARROGANT" (everyone does different things to cope up with their pressures in life).
true, when she boast her status the first time we met, coupled with they way she talks in front of her people, I assumed that she's either arrogant (as in bad/evil way), or she has insecurities and anxiety by putting up a front. And it's very likely that she's the latter.
Damn her mask breaking at 1:25 as she panicks hits hard. I really like the front she puts up, I think its bratty and fun, but I also think that behind that she's a really interesting and complicated character that most people ignore for their first surface level impression they get of her. People just starting hating her because they hate that illusion she puts up or like her because they think that's her real self. It's sad to think that's probably also what happens to her canonically. She can't ever risk taking off her mask and showing her true self because she might very well lose any influence she may have left over her own nation and people. I wish I could go back to when I just thought she was a funny silly brat.
I don't hate her just because I don't like her front. I don't like her because she's supposed to be the LEADER OF A NATION, and she acts like a 14 year old immature girl (Amy). This is the EXACT reason I hate raiden Ei's personality (as a playable unit she's a boss). Ei is supposed to lead a nation, but she acts like an immature, pathetic little girl locking herself in her room and letting a fucking robot lead her nation to ruin. Ugh. Nahida should just write them both out of irminsul and let them be replaced by gods that can actually lead.
I love the scene where everyone was looking up to their god who should have the answers they are looking for and, she just doesn't, she doesn't know what is happening and her mask starts to crack. She can't meet their expectations and that scares her. Scares her to the point of shouting and lashing out. Furina seems like she is more talking to herself than everyone else, trying to convince herself that this was not her fault, which also does show she does think it's her own fault at some level. All of this stems from her seemingly low self esteem causing her reliance on that mask she wears, and is losing herself to.
Actually you can get a good idea of how she is feeling. After you are finished with act 2, stand under the fountain in front of the opera house and wait.

EN VA sounds a little exaggerated imo especially at 01:35. Her JP VA sounds better and not exaggerated. It's still overall good, it just doesn't sync well with the expression and movement of the character.
Total misrepresentation of the actual character. The EN VA takes one aspect of furinas personality and builds her entire performance around it. The brattiness is just one aspect of her character but she is mostly insecure and quiet, pretty much the embodiment of the imposter syndrome. While CN, JP and KR Furina rarely scream, EN Furina screams in every second sentence. Just look at the finale where furina admits defeat. EN was the only one again that screamed which totally changed the character.

well,there is a reason why neuvilette take the place of the chief of justice instead of her. personally,she isn't as unbearable as eula but she does let me my expectation down Abit for Fontaine.
I had more fun with her than I did with the other archons. Also its too early to judge her since we lack the other acts yet. What I saw so far, I liked it a lot, and the ace attorney moments. She is coming home for sure.

Beyond that, I couldn't care less about the brat and what happens to her in the story. If the players had the option to just leave this nation and ignore the problem with it, I'd gladly do that without a second thought. *Even Scaramouche understands more about how to be an Archon and people's emotions than her and he's younger than her.* She definitely doesn't strike as me the type to ever get sad over her nation drowning.
