Very useful video! Thanks! I have a question though with Sony Alpha cameras. With this set-up, should I turn Steady Shot and OSS off? I can't seem to find info on this with using a monopod and the monogimbal. My initial test shots all seem soft, even with 2000 shutter speeds and I am wondering if they need to be "Off/On"?
@@arthurmorris4932 Yes, photographing birds sitting and birds in flight. By both, I meant "Steady Shot" in the camera and "OSS" in the lens. Some people say to turn those off when on a tripod/monopod.
I advise you to set it on the lens. That done, the camera will reflect that. Try it with OSS on and Off and LMK how you do. I leave it on all the time. @@lisadaniels7631
Thank you for the information!!

Should be On all the time. Which camera?
@@arthurmorris4932 Thanks for your response. The AR7IV and FE 100-400 lens. So, I should keep both on all the time then?
@lisadaniels7631 Not sure what you mean by both??? Are you photographing birds?

Would a tilt head be a suitable solution? I could use the few hundred bucks I'd be saving.
A pan tilt head would be 100% useless atop a monopod.
