That was fun! I always enjoy your videos Paul. The true trials and tribulations of bird photography. With appropriate sound track and narration! Plus some good tips. Keep it up!
Cheers. Isn't it just wonderful? And I'm so glad I made the effort (I was never not going to...) By midday most of this snow had gone. I got out early and got it done. Often the case in the UK.
Great video Paul and the images on the autumn floor were stunning. Not done any snow photography yet but now I’ve moved to Northumberland think there’ll be more opportunity! 😀
Thanks so much. I did enjoy those autumn backgrounds. You've moved to a lovely area.. and parts certainlyseem to be quieter than many other places too!
You got some gorgeous shots of the tit family (my favourites!). Beautiful photography and footage. Enjoyed this one so much, and as always you managed to make me grin (re the dog wearing pyjamas!). Your focussing issues and the comment about your specs steaming up - how I empathise with both! (Be thankful you don't have a Fujifilm camera like I have, by the way.... 🤨 )
Impressive video, Paul Miguel Photography. Looking forward to your next upload. I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your tips on using extension tubes for close focus are really insightful. How do you find the balance between depth of field and capturing motion in such dynamic environments?
many thanks. it does reduce depth of field a bit, and higher shutter speeds are harder to achieve. I only think it's necessary for birds about blue tit sized or smaller - but not essential, if you're happy to crop down instead
I'm very familiar with this location and the birds are very tame - and the squirrels a bit familiar! I've got some great intimate shots over the last couple of years, by sitting next to the tree stump with a macro lens. I even had a blue tit feeding out of my hand in that clearing.
I've never got a proper measurement. I mostly use it for blue tit sized birds or smaller. The main problem is losing about a stop of light. Also it can cause vignetting.
Well, Paul, you had a good idea about putting out feed to attract the birds. Too bad the bush tail rats and the flying rats ruined it for you. I have had so many good bird sets with perfect backgrounds ruined this fall by bush tailed warblers that I've almost begun to hate them.
Hi Paul a quick video request from myself can you make an up to date video on exposure compensation when to use it and how to use it properly I’m having massive struggles with photographing birds in the sky and sat in trees etc they keep coming out like black dots and under exposed really frustrating I need help
@ mainly just learning how to expose a bird properly mine are terrible I took a few photos of a kestrel hovering in the sky would have been amazing photos but the bird is either black or too white I’m struggling with how to expose a bird correctly weather it’s sitting in a tree or flying and I know a lot of people use exposure compensation to counter the difficulties

Amazing tips, Paul! 👏 Your tips about patience and positioning are spot on. Thanks for sharing such valuable advice! ❣

Really appreciate that. Thank you

Thank you!
Great video, the birds are smashing.
Nice easy style & a pleasure to watch😊
Simply delightful, though it looked chilly. Great images
Well edited video Paul some really nice photos to ! Well done for braving the weather really enjoyable to watch👏👏👏
Thank you. Being out in the snow isn't too much of a problem. It's often just getting there that's the hard bit!
Great work Paul you can't beat a bit of snow or hard frost . Natures Soft Box awesome 👍

@ yeah definitely Paul and the bird photography opportunities up here are amazing, also photographed my first red squirrel! 😃
Very good Paul, really good to see R6 getting super pictures at iso 5000.
Thanks so much. Yeah, it's not bad. I still prefer lower ISOs.. but I embrace the higher ISO more now. Very similar image quality to my 1DX.
@PaulMiguelPhotography My Sony RX10MK4 got no chance with 5000 iso but looking at maybe R6 mkii in the new year.
Some great photos there Paul, even the tree rat
thank you. Yes, even tree rats can look good in the right situation.
At least the squirrel came to say hello at the end of the video
great video. will be with you! thanks for sharing!
this has inspired me to get out in my local woodlands soon
I hope we get some more nice wintry weather.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography yes me too

That park is very close to me. I've used that spot myself. You can get overrun with squirrels. Great idea to use the leaves as a background.
It's a great place. But yes, the squirrels can be a real problem to be honest.
Lovely images. I have a National Trust property quite near me, the small birds are so tame, I have some lovely images of nuthatch.
That sounds great. Always good to have an area where the birds are approachable. Nuthatches are such characters too
If you ever get to Devon, Arlington Court is a great place for small birds
Nice video 🙂👍❄️
that where funny with the dog haha !
cheers! Lol. I always find dogs in clothing funny..
@@PaulMiguelPhotography you do haha !

Where do I get a cover like yours?
Hi. It's from www.wildlifewatchingsupplies.co.uk They do covers for different sizes. There's cheaper options, but these are really well made.
Wildlife watching supplies

Your music selection was excellent. Who is the supplier of your lens cover?

How close the 25mm extension tube allows you to shoot? Also is there any other pro or con on using that combination?
I've never got a proper measurement. I mostly use it for blue tit sized birds or smaller. The main problem is losing about a stop of light. Also it can cause vignetting.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography so it gives you some zooming?
● Paul, hello
Which Waterproof Trousers are they please?? ✌🏼
These are from deerhunter clothing but I don't think they make em any more. They are dungarees
Love the robins and the blue tits. Adorable pictures. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much.
Your local park is a great place for bird photography. I can get Nuthatch and Jays within 10 feet, Tits and Chaffinch within 6 feet.
Is that Roundhay Paul?
It's Golden Acre.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography Hi Paul, thanks for that.
