    I had Gewa Pure violin case, honestly is really sturdy, outer shell is tough n strong, inside of the case is really functional. Music pocket is really comfortable to support ur back when u carry it. Suitable for those who took public transport n travel.

    I never thought I would be suscribed to a channel about violin cases, but it's pretty pretty good

      Thank you! To be honest, we never thought we'd be creating a channel just for violin cases either :)

    Thank you for the vid. You should soundproof your recording room, the echo is massive

    Does the gewa pure protect against cold winter weather as well as heat?

    • @GreatViolinCases
      @GreatViolinCases  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! Polycarbonate is a very tough plastic. It doesn't absorb the heat or cold like some metallic cases do. It's also well insulated.

    I'm always interested in seeing the differences between carbon fibre cases. I know they must've got better over the years - I remember about five years ago a friend of mine dropped her case and the corner of the case tore open! A bit of a crack initially (like snapping the bottom off an ice cream cone), but then the tear in the carbon fibre got bigger and bigger.
    It was time for something else!
    I've heard there is also a greater risk of temperature damage with carbon cases vs wood. Someone was giving an interview (might've been Florian Leonhard or one of the other great luthiers) saying "if you put your violin in a carbon fibre case on a hot day then put it on the seat of your car and go driving for 45 minutes or so, it's very likely to cause some problems more than if you went through the exact same process with a wooden case."

      Correct! Carbon fiber cases do heat up the fastest out of all the materials out there. Which is why case makers now are moving away from carbon fiber. Instead using materials like thermoplastic, polycarbonate (also a type of plastic), or Bam's signature Hightech. The goal is still to make a case that is protective, temperature-resistant, and light. It's usually a little harder to get the weight down with wooden cases without sacrificing protection. But this also depends on the maker. There are extremely well made wooden cases that are protective, temperature-resistant, and light.

      @@liamnevilleviolist1809 Haha we are too! A lot of the modern cases we see are relatively recent, compared to the hundreds of years the instrument has been around. The big case makers are always working towards lighter, sturdier, more durable, and temperature-resistant cases.
