What is a reborn or silicone doll?

The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning, and the doll artists are referred to as reborn artists.

What is the reborn community/hobby?
☺ The reborn community/ hobby is a group of individuals that's mainly comprised of adults and some older teenagers who enjoy life like baby dolls that look extremely hyper realistic. The reasons for collecting reborn dolls can be as diverse as the collectors! But, some reasons can be:

*friendship & fellowship
*therapeutic reasons
No matter the reason we collect, we all have one thing in common, and that is to share in the joy and love of life-like baby dolls!
This is an adult lifestyle and doll collecting channel with a Christian flavor. I say that because I'm an ordinary imperfect Christian serving an extraordinary perfect God. I trip up. I used an AI app called Donna. You can write your own lyrics and pick the genre you want the song to be and whether you want a male or female voice to sing it and it will compose the song for you. If you don't want to write your own lyrics you can just put what you want the song to be about in a description box and it will write the lyrics for you. I chose to write my lyrics. It's a very fun app!

Yes, I was messaged last night by a really sweet lady who told me another collector refused to sell an authentic doll to her because she had 2 replicas. She told her she only sold to authentic collectors. That's straight up discrimination in my opinion. Hugs and love to you sis! 💜

Hi Pennye and Nikki Oh goodness the babies look absolutely darling. So nice you can spend time together. Sorry my message is long but I do want to say a few things. Hope it's OK.
I did buy kits from Ali when I first found out about the babies 4 years ago. I knew nothing about the hobby and I always shopped for house stuff on ali and I could NOT for the life of me find where I can buy high quality kits, so I did a search for doll kits to paint, I didn't even know they were called reborns, and when I saw them on Ali I thought thats where everyone gets their kits.
Then when I was watching when I got covid the first year and got so sick I only slept and couldn't even lift my head to drink some water, but I had my youtube on autoplay, and I could hear through sleep how people were bashing the people who bought their dolls on ali, and when i got a little better, i started to research, but it was almost impossible to find out where the artists bought the "authentic" kits, because they wanted people to buy the finished dolls, I guess. I found Jennies tutorials on how to paint a reborn baby and she told us what supplies we will need. Thank you so much Jennie @InspiredbyBabies.
Well I started to search for the genesis heat set paints I started at the very beginning of covid shutdowns so the old genesis was still available... and I came accross dolls by sandy and bountiful baby, but I didn't like any of their dolls they had at that time, they just didn't appeal to me, then someone slipped about macpherson, after macpherson I found out about irressistables, but it took me literally a year, or a little bit over to find out about the better, more desirable kit dealers.
Why is it so so hard to find the GOOD authentic kits, instead of the cheap bountiful baby ones and dolls by sandy has cheap kits too, if they want people to do authentic? That baffled me.
I finished (almost, except for the hair on the back) my Chloe and I loved her so much, I decided to buy the authentic kit of Arianna by Reva Schick from Irresistrables and I did, but when I got her I saw the huge differences in the size and the detail of the two babies and I decided right there and then, I will ONLY do authentic now. I loved the detail, I loved that they are more perfect.
I did do A video when I got my authentic Arianna (now Lindie) comparing them. I only do authentic because it was MY CHOICE and I'd rather make payments over a few months and have an authentic baby then less perfect and not so liked, but that is my personal choice and not everyone wants that. I will never bash anyone, or look down on anyone for making a choice according to their monthly budget and what their family needs- first.
I want to learn to paint hair now. That is also my choice. We have free will and we have rights. Your integrity and so many other things play a role in peoples choices, things are not only black and white. I prefer to educate, because that is what works on me reason and logic, and convince people with good info and demonstrating for them- they have a choice, but bashing never made anyone say: "hey she is right i will switch", it just makes people hurt and then angry and they make choices based on that pain and anger. Not very wise.
I'm happy that you love your hobby and that buy authentic, but as you said, we buy authentic by choice because we have the right to choose. Everyone does.I choose to support the artists but I also choose not to be a bully. I'm here to enjoy a doll hobby and make friends. Hugs and love to you! 🤗💜
