@jenmontzingo Firstly, I don't just collect dolls with special needs. Reborn dolls represent all babies, toddlers, and children of all ages, ethnicities, and yes some disabilities with as much realism as possible. Not just special needs. Sculptors and collectors alike feel like all children should be represented. I don't look for dolls with various special needs to collect and that's what it sounds like you're implying. We collectors collect the dolls that we are drawn to. I don't even have this doll anymore but if I did, I see nothing wrong with it. Collectors and sculptors of these dolls feel all babies should be represented. It's not as a token but more out of appreciation of all babies and their differences. A baby or a representation thereof isn't more or less valuable because of ability. I'm sorry this is off putting to you. It's not meant in a disrespectful way so please don't take it as that. It isn't meant in that way at all. As a matter of fact, it's meant to be quite the opposite. Dolls have come a long way over the years. Unless you're an avid doll collector, then I can see where the hyper realistic dolls can come off as strange. But let's normalize not putting stipulations of "it's only ok to have this if" on things.
