    Great content Xavier! Couple of questions: 1) Is an air hammer an absolute necessity to get the outer joint off? 2) What is the circlip for? 3) Did you use aftermarket boots on the outer joints the first time around and are just re-using them for now? Thanks.

      @@snolvr100 what’s up man! Air hammer makes the job cleaner but no, you can definitely get the outer joint off with one or two firm hits with a big hammer. The circlip is for when you don’t do the cheater method and actually take apart the inner joint. I used new aftermarket outer boots.

    Im one of the newer subscribers. Just recently picked up a 997.1, and youve been putting up some really useful information! Also, wish that Regamaster thing from a few years would have worked out. I need a set on this car, too!

      @@davidcargle7018 thanks for the sub! I’ll reach back to Matt @ ICB about the regamasters for our cars. There was just not enough interest or commitment to get a set of WB regas made.

      @NSXavier997 I had them on my S2000, and recently pulled an OG set of the E46 I sold off to make room for the Turbo. I need a set for this car!!!!

    Love the video! Really like your build btw. My question is your honest take on the 997.1 turbo maintenance wise so far?

    • @NSXavier997
      @NSXavier997  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you I appreciate it! I really don’t think that the maintenance is hateful at all. In terms of difficulty, working on it is really just like working on any other car. Where things become a bit challenging is working on the engine. The one gripe I DO have is that the parts and fluids are definitely expensive. The “PORSCHE Tax” is definitely real.

    Love this content! What gauge did you swap into the dash where the chrono gauge was? Would you do it again?

      Thanks! I'll make a separate video on the gauge itself, as there seems to be a lot of interest in that.

    Awesome 997 Turbo, Paint looks perfect, is it PPF protected?

    • @NSXavier997
      @NSXavier997  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! It’s ceramic coated. The only PPF is on the front bumper and front portions of the fenders

    Wouldn't it be safer if you make a mark before you slip the ends off? That way you know it's exactly where it comes off that way would eliminate chances of unbalancing of the axle it self? Or am I just paranoid?

    • @NSXavier997
      @NSXavier997  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yea it probably would be better if I had marked it. I’ll probably do that next time around now that you mention it.
