I tried to watch it without imagining a sound, but just couldn’t. I would “hear” a deep thud every time it hit the ground.

I don't hear anything but I see a vibration and interpret it as it should have a boom. I would guess this only works on low frequencies but I wonder what is the highest frequency you can "hear" this way.
Since the person asked if you hear sound from viewing the gif. The thought of it is placed in your mind and you expect to hear a sound when you are really not. The way the brain works by association. The question should be, do you physically hear the sound? The person who tweeted that seems to trying to make it into a phenomenon not realizing that the question itself causes one to interpret the image with sound. The human mind can be easily coerced into imagining the sound like we really can hear it. Not all people fall for it though.
i thought i could hear the gif at first, then i realized my heart was in sync with the gif, maybe the heart beat is also responsible, it would explain why not everyone can hear it, but some people who might be in perfect sync can really freak out with this...
you realized your heart was in sync? you have a sense of how fast your heart beats? or did you monitor it? like how do you realise this?
@@edofluit6568 touch the vein on your neck, it will pulse in time to your heartbeat. or, place your ear on a pillow you may hear your heartbeat, it sounds like footprints. my heart was also coincidentally in sync with the video, my hand was on my neck so thats how i knew
