Sabudana (Sago) Vada & Coriander Chutney! Recipe in Description !!

  • Today i decided to have a quick snack which was Sabudana (Sago) Vada and Coriander Chutney!! Sabudana Vada is a popular Indian tea time snack made with sabudana (sago), potatoes and peanuts. They are crunchy and crispy and are best enjoyed with a side of hari chutney and chai.
    How To Make Sabudana (Sago) Vada and Coriander Chutney Step By Step -
    For Sabudana Vada
    1 Cup of Dry Sabudana (Sago) soaked in 1 and half cup of normal water
    1 potatoes, boiled & mashed
    1/4 cup roasted peanuts & crushed
    2 tablespoons chopped coriander
    2 to 4 green chilies, finely chopped
    1 teaspoons jeera
    5-6 curry leaves (optional)
    1 chopped Onion (optional)
    1 tablespoon chopped ginger
    1 tablespoon black pepper (optional)
    2 dry red chilies (optional)
    1-2 tablespoon of Cornflour (for binding)
    1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
    For Coriander Chutney
    4-5 cloves
    Handful of coriander (25gms)
    2 to 3 green chilies
    1/2 teasspoon Jeera powder
    1/2 riped lemon juice
    Salt to taste
    In a bowl add all the ingredients for preparation of Sabudana Mixture and add 2 tablespoon of cornflour for binding. Now make sure hands are first dipped into water to make small balls of the mixture, otherwise it will stick to your hand. In a fry pan, add 2-3 tablespoon of Oil and wait until it is nicely heated. Once the oil gets heat up, put all the vadas one by one and cook until it becomes brown and crispy!
    For making the chutney, add all the ingredients stated above and put it into a mixer grinder. Add water to make a smooth paste of coriander chutney!!
    Now serve hot Sabudana Vada along with Coriander Chutney with a cup of nice tea!! Enjoy!!
