    I've had a contract with a termite prevention company for over 20 years and I just realized that they have NEVER gone into the attic to check for termites. On the 10th year, they have NEVER treated the cement areas around my home. All these years, I've paying them for near nothing. Thanks for this video. It was very helpful.

    Thank you, I just had an opportunity to move into the pest control field and it was a welcome change from my 9-5 shop job printing t shirts (I absolutely loved my company, the owner, and the employees, I'm just not into that style of art).
    Anyways I just passed my core cert and followed it up by passing the 7A and 7B combo test. Termites are actually a tough nut to crack and there is ALOT of methods and many different types of foundations and houses. In my off time I am trying to learn/understand and be as I good as I can be to help our customers, have merit and integrity, and to make sure the job is done RIGHT. This is just 1 of many helpful videos and resources I've looked at to fulfill my aspirations with this job. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this video and I learned a lot. Sounds like my house. I fixed much of the damage myself and saved a lot of money. I was told by my realtor I was taking a risk buying this home, what surprises me now is that the lender was okay signing off on it. I'm sure if an inspector would have seen the damage I did not only wouldn't the lender sign off on the mortgage but the city would have been called in and the house tagged for no occupancy until repairs were made.

    Looks like the window in my half bath I could pull the rough opening apart with my hands. I had to build a temporary support wall and replace about 30' of bad top and cap plate, rebuild two window rough openings and full sister about 20 studs. You don't see the full extent of the damage until you get the Sheetrock off. Termites long gone as their mud cartons are all dried out. However I will be working on this house at least into next year setting up temporary support walls and rebuilding load bearing walls. Already have a liquid barrier and will do again in 2026.

    I found a lot of mud tubes in the basement from along the post to floor joists. I destroyed them, but there are no termites inside the tubes. Can you tell me what happen ? The posts and joists are still solid.

    • @ArrowPestService
      @ArrowPestService  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MrPhimanh Here are some possible explanations:
      Colonies Moved: Sometimes, termites abandon their mud tubes and relocate if the conditions become unfavorable, such as changes in moisture levels or temperature. They could have moved to a different part of your home or property.
      Extermination or Treatment: If your property had been treated for termites in the past, either chemically or through baiting systems, the termites might have been killed off, but the mud tubes were left behind as remnants.
      Empty Tubes: Termites may construct tubes in areas that they plan to infest but then abandon them if the wood turns out to be unsuitable or if they face disturbances or predators.
      Termites May Still Be Nearby: While you didn’t find termites in the tubes, they might still be present in other parts of your basement or home, potentially hidden deeper within the wood or in a different area altogether.
      Given the presence of mud tubes, it’s advisable to have a professional inspection done to ensure that the termites haven’t simply relocated or that there isn’t another undetected infestation nearby. Early detection and treatment are key to preventing serious damage. Thanks for watching!
