Congrats Brian on growing the channel. Honestly, it is one of my favorite channels for honest, non biased, non sponsored, gear reviews. Your annual rod and reel line up is one of my favorite annual videos, something that I look forward to each year AND I like that you are not afraid to spend time talking about spinning gear. And the recent dive into budget rod reviews has been a good add to the channel lineup. Keep up the good work. As the say honesty always pays.
@@PunchFishing I've never been an Instagram individual, don't even have an account, but I've been contemplating starting one just so I can follow your Instagram posts, which you say you do a lot more content on Instagram than you do TH-cam. So is my kids would say, you might have pulled me into the realm of being cool since I I don't have and I've never had an Instagram account. 🙂
What weight do you typically throw on your worm rig? I've used my BC2 for craw tubes with 1/4 to 3/8oz but I'm wondering if I should try a ribbon tail and 3/16oz
I have learned a lot from your channel and don’t think you are a no body. You put in a lot of time on high end gear and do great reviews. This is one of my favorite fishing channels. Keep em coming.
I run 16lb sniper with my BC2 and have been throwing craw tubes with 14oz. In grass it's as amazing as you describe. On my St. Croix LTB rods, a fishing inhaling a bait in grass will feel like mush (for lack of a better word). This rod I feel the bite is more distinctive. Less guessing "is that a fish or grass?"
I have the Bottom Contact 1 rod, and I think I'm glad I got the older version. I'm curious if the new one is really more sensitive, but the old one actually balances with a lighter reel, has foam instead of that poor quality Daiwa cork that pits after a couple of outings and I think I prefer the older 70/30 rod where the new rod is nearly extra fast, although it does seem to have some taper still so that probably isn't a deal breaker. I basically use it for 90% of my jigs, whether it's fishing moderately thick patches of milfoil with an arky head or fishing structure or dragging a football jig, but it's also great for weighted T-Rigs and C-Rigs. As a kayaker, it's nice to have one rod that can do it all as well so my other rod slots can be for other presentations.
I had the Tatula version of that rod until my kid dropped it in a lake. But it's a great power and action for a multi-purpose heavy rod and casts really well too.
Because of you I have this rod, thank you! I love this and I love the 873 crr too! The BC 2, for a 7'5 mh +, really amazing how light it is. I wanted this cause I do fish a lot of thick grass and junk also and Ive lost some big ones in the grass on a softer rod. Love the channel, I am not a tourney guy but serious love for fishing all my life. Thanks for the great channel.
Sounds a lot like the 174mh+ poison glorious. Bends to the second to last guide. Light in had, powerful. Pulled a 5¼lbs walleye out of the grass. Does absolutely everything you need it to do. Love the review. I'm pretty content with my gear at the moment but I would like to get some nrx and steez rods sooner than later lol. The 174mh is the one rod I can't go with out.
You are for sue not a nobody. It‘s the opposite because you are one of the very few introducing the really hot stuff without bias or some commercial interest. Your current video proofs all I said ;)
Hey Brian, do you go braid to leader with all bottom contact baits on this rod? If so would you mind sharing what braid you typically use and how long you run your leader?
I really like hearing your updated review. You do well with ensuring you know the rod well before you review, but I think it’s interesting to hear how it holds up in your mind as you try new stuff and spend even more time with it. Well done, thanks for your work.
The way he describes it reminds me of the Tatula 7'6" MH. Rated 1/4-1 3/8, bends pretty far into the blank for a "fast" when it's loaded. I've thrown lots of spinnerbaits, swim jigs, even chatterbaits on it. Definitely better for the spinnerbait and swim jig than the chatterbait though. Buuuut it's a $160 rod and this is like $500+ so idk how they _actually_ compare lol
Brian, would love your thoughts on how the BC2 compares to the 873 CCR. Thanks and love your work and the information you provide. Be well and keep it up. Thanks
Hey Brian, Been a sub since before 1k and it's so cool to see how much your channel is growing! Just wondering, but are you planning on picking up any of the new p5 models? Because apparently they're coming out with a new model called the bmg that's supposed to be comparable to the 894 or bc2
Great show have you ever tried the Fenwick world class rod l love them they are so overlooked and underrated l pair it up with new Zillion SV love your show buddy 👍👍🎣🎣
Great looking combo! Still concerned about this ags guides though. When you said you were going to try it out on a tournament this weekend then the tip tapped the ceiling I thought hopefully tip is titanium?! Good luck with your tournament!!
The Steez AGS-line up is exclusively USA market?? I can't find any dealer other than USDM. Would love to have an 7-6 MML but it might not be a great moment to buy The One bc of currency exchange rate.😢. Bummer
So between all of your higher end rods. Daiwa, mega bass, g loomis nrx etc etc. What is the most sensitive rod for bottom baits jigs, Carolina rigs , Texas rigs ?
Brian I've just ordered my first Steez 7'6 MML . You and my best friend are the gateway drug to high end fishing addiction . I was good with a Tatula elite rods but now I will sell them all to buy high end rods. In all seriousness could you review a Abu Revo MGX spinning this reel is my favorite. I have a Vanford as my only other mid priced reel's I have. Thanks for the work you put in. Congratulations on 6k I've been a sub for a years. You are my pusherman 😆
I am building a 3 rod spinning to put on the boat.. I have Steez 7'6" MML, Tatula 7'3" mxf . I need to round it out NSR÷ 822 or Whipsnake or Shimano Poison Adrenal for dropshot rod. Point me in a direction.
fast vs extra fast is very subjective, but the BC2 is almost extra fast, it's probably around 20% tip. Where the BC1 and most Daiwa fast rods are 30% tip, and would be on the emod. fast side of fast.
Good review! And on point for Dbombs, Destroyers, pit boss.Have a few AGS...the utility player is one of my favorites. And of course, The One 7-6. Since I play quite a bit with feather jigs......basscat21
I'm a gear nerd also, but I can't bring myself to spend 500 plus on a rod. I've spent 1200 each on 3 reels, but for saltwater. Something about bass rods and high dollar doesn't make sense to me, I guess because for most of my life I've caught all of my bass on 50 dollar bass pro rods
I'd rather drop the money on a rod than a reel personally. Although I only dropped that much on one rod - and it's a rod that I regularly bring out with me so I'll get my money's worth.

I’ve had one for about two months now. Use it exclusively for t-rig worms here in Florida. Absolutely phenomenal!

I have the new Steez AGS Universal Power and it too has that secondary taper when hooked up. Solid review man

My buddy closed the tip of my BC gen one in his rod locker, so Daiwa is sending me a BC 2 as a replacement, excited to try out the new gen!
You'll love it

FMJ or Bottom Contact II for jigs/texas rigs?
Thank you Brian for this great review. all of your reviews provide the information anglers are always desperate to find
Thanks for your help!
Thank you for the code from omni just ordered 10 packs of Roboworms Red dawn 4.5".
Thank you for the support!

Yes please.
With the rod bending deeper into the blank do you think it would be able to handle any moving baits. Thank you for your video’s keep them coming

I think a stout single hook moving bait, like a heavy wire spinnerbait.. yeah. Definitely not treble hook baits.
The nrx is a heavy , not a med heavy, so the comparison will be off. Great videos kept them coming.
Brian, would love your thoughts on how the BC2 compares to the 873 CCR. Thanks and love your work and the information you provide. Be well and keep it up. Thanks
They are both great rods, and definitely have some overlap for applications. BC2 is way fancier, and longer and has more power.
Hey Brian, Been a sub since before 1k and it's so cool to see how much your channel is growing! Just wondering, but are you planning on picking up any of the new p5 models? Because apparently they're coming out with a new model called the bmg that's supposed to be comparable to the 894 or bc2
I'm sure I'll try something from the new P5's!
would this work for 1/4-jigs and normal sized chatterbaits?
It might be a bit much for Both applications, but it could do it.
I usually like a rod with a little more bend for chatterbaits. For 1/4oz jigs, I use my Tatula Elitte 7' M-MH/XF rod, but a typical M/F will do.
Hi Brian, nrx + 893c and this rod, which one is better for 3/8oz creature bait ? Is this a bit tip heavy than nrx ?
Should also try some steez spinning rods too I tend to grab them more often than not these days
I'll get one eventually

I really like this AGS BC2 for all the techniques you just mentioned.
@@PunchFishing thanks for the info
Hey, if you had to go with the rod that is more sensitive which one are you going with?
The spec looks like super-diablo type-L. How do you feel about their difference?
Been waiting for this one!! 🙏
Nice! How is the tip top on that rod? Thanks for the videos!!
Seems perfect fine for how I fish it. It's probably the same part as the AGS flipping stick honestly.
So that rod or the Xtasy or NRX+ or Megabass or Expride for 3/8-1/2oz jigs and T-Rigs?
I'm a big fan of the BC2 over all of those.
Still waiting for the review for the Nrx+. How you compare the sensitivity between these two?
The 894c? I'll do that soon.

Earned a new subscriber. Let's get you to 6k 💪🏽
Is this rod better than the mud bull rod or is close to it Vice versa
The BC2 and the Mad Bull are very very different rods. Mad Bull is for moving baits.
I fish from the bank. Sometimes long rods get in the way
Isn't the 894 a fast action, not extra fast?
Honestly extra fast or fast is overall kinda meaningless IMHO. Each rod company kinda makes up what they think that is to them.
fast vs extra fast is very subjective, but the BC2 is almost extra fast, it's probably around 20% tip. Where the BC1 and most Daiwa fast rods are 30% tip, and would be on the emod. fast side of fast.
