Maybe if you know nothing at all about this, but I think that would also have to be someone who isn't really planning on looking into this either. I think they are trying to be deceptive and it's failing and just making them look like idiots.
I had my eight year old watch the unboxing video and I asked him about his opinion. Now let me point out that he has no knowledge about the Amico the unboxing video was the first time he heard if it . The first thing he told me is it look kind of cool but the controller look kind of funny . He also mentioned that the games weren't all that exciting and that Graphics looked a lot like the wii. When I asked him if he would want one for his next birthday he said he would rather have a new switch instead. Now he did say he wouldn't mind playing with it if he ever came across one
I had uploaded on the good subreddit a list of quotes from John Alvarado that he made talking about the unboxing video. He had claimed that the scuff/scratch on the screen of the controller was the plastic film that they had forgotten to peel off. He also confirmed basically everything that you had said in saying this is a one off box and the prototype was a hand build unit. The reason they did the cut away from the system turning on was to save some time which is suspicious since they were willing to spend two minutes showing language options. Also as someone who can speak French, the translations are 100% google translate and in the wrong context. They have power as "puissance" which means more like horsepower or in mathematics when you carry the power of a number. It's a complete embarrassment.
I had the husband of a native French speaker reach out to me within a day or so of the video being uploaded telling me how terrible the translation was.
Like Pat stated upon further thinking I do find it terrible if that is how they are going to ship out the consoles is with the controllers on top ( get they want to show off their advance QI charging lol). Many things can go wrong. I mean have you seen how some products get shipped out into retail stores with heavy objects sometimes finding themselves on top of the lighter objects ( especially when workers just throw stuff in a bin to take out to the floor) lol.

Yeah, they refuse to refund me my money for pre-order. I can't explain how pissed off I am that I didn't do more research months ago on this scummy, shady company. I keep getting replies from them saying the $100 preorder has been refunded, then I look at my account statement and see NOTHING, again, and again, and again! F them, they can keep the $100, cause they won't get another cent from me, EVER!
Having worked in a German company for a couple of years (a long time ago) I can tell you the dashes between tons of words is German. Germans hyphenate tons of words that English speakers don't. So it's likely that copy on the box was written by German folks. It's still bad considering it's supposed to be a box for US distribution (purportedly) but it's a common thing for Germans to do when writing things in English.
@@mikel6989 but John states "this is the box that will be on retail shelves". No where does he claim it is only international, and a good chunk of viewers will obviously be Americans. It stands to reason to assume the box is intended for American retailers as well lol.

I love how the AC adapter was more appropriately packaged than even the system itself or the controllers. Also, are we seriously still doing massive wall warts like that in 2022?
I'm so looking forward to seeing Pat and Ian's well deserved victory lap when IntelliVision announces the inevitable cancellation of the Amico. They've consistently been proven right despite Tommy's harassment. The only disappointing thing about the cancellation is that the entertainment value from this will have tapped out.
I was once an ardent supporter of the amico before I learned the truth of their nefarious behavior. Now that I know better, I'm 💯 behind any and all criticism of them!
Even if it's complete trash I hope the people that bought these get one. It might become valuable as a collectable as a crazy oddity in the future? Hope they ship out something.
Pat needs to start now getting all the primary sources lines up and start writing the definitive book on this whole fiasco. He can end up making more than intellivision on this whole fiasco
@Dan Smith I'd buy the Super Famicom purely for the box, (because by gosh, that is some sexy packaging.) but I'd actually be getting a worthwhile product instead of the equivalent of a Leapster for 50 year olds.
You ever see those kiosks at malls (yes we still have them) around Christmas time selling those video game consoles? Those are just ripoffs with cheap hardware and some stuffed in games that run on an emulator for about 200 bucks? Yeah. THIS is where this will be headed IF they are lucky. Pat and Ian aren't shitting on this system just to shit on it. They are shitting on it because its not even CLOSE to the standard of a console that is said to be on par with the NES or even Switch. Not even close. They are 100% right in their opinions and expertise to slam this console because Intellivision can't understand we live in the information age and not the old west where snake oil salesman is trying to sell you something.
This video gave me validation. I knew something was off about the video. This video and Gamestop charging customers for their pre-orders because Intellivision didn't update the products status has made this "system" a 100% scam product. Even Soulja Boy had an actual product. This "system" is lower than Soulja Boy's knockoff product.
They misspelled their own company name? At this point I believe that someone within "Intellevision" is trying to sabotage the product. Jeez, time for me to play some "Pleystation"...
Pat made a good point about the upload date. This video could've been made a few weeks ago, or months ago. And if GameStop started charging preorders, it means Intellivision did not inform GameStop or other retailers about their postponement.
They failed to inform anyone of anything, par for the course. Ironically they have no Golf game in the works. Something the elderly appreciate and would get into, but no let's put all this other garbage Tommy wanted as a child.
The mandate "all games have local co-op" was obviously going to lead to some ridiculous adds. We've seen it with FInnigan Fox where they added a random, unrelated shooter level to satisfy that requirement. Which means that during the actual platforming part of their only platformer (because EWJ4 is dead), the other player is just sitting and watching. Any game that doesn't have multiplayer, they could just add a random co-op Pong game (one person moves, one person launches the ball), and say "See! Couch co-op! Requirement met!".
@@Blue-zw8er they released one of the 90s earthworm Jim games on their Nintendo online service. That doesn't mean a new game is coming. The Earthworm Jim team (who Tommy Tallarico lied about, claiming that they were working on a new earthworm Jim game) have confirmed that Earthworm Jim 4 never existed and no work was ever done on it, it's not in development. Which is sad, because I wanted a new earthworm Jim game since the 90s ones were so fantastic. But it's just not happening.
So if there are no patents, that means that ANYONE could just make an functional Amico (maybe call it something better, that can't be hard) and sell it? I would love to see the "Powkiddy Buddy" doing a better job at being an Amico than the Amico itself 🤣
Does anybody know why it says wireless charging on the controller dock but then clearly has a 3pin charging port at the bottom of each controller doc..
You guys rock. Cheers for keeping an eye on this dead horse carcasses that’s being dragged around a dusty desert of deceived backers with no oasis in sight.
I've read that it's because there was a placeholder date, March 31st, on game stops' site, but it was never updated. Automated process probably thinks It's time to ship out now.
Even if I was completely unaware about the Amico, the comments being turned off would be a huge red flag. Why would the comments be turned off on an otherwise completely unassuming video about a product being unboxed? That generally isn't done unless there is so some sort of controversy because comments help you in the youtube algorithm. Why purposefully make your video harder to find? Hmmm
Being along with all of you for this fiasco almost makes me want to learn how to make documentaries. I can't wait to hear everything else that went on in the Amico story.
It'll end with a few lines of coke and maybe an armed robbery and a dead donkey mascot owned by Atari. As crazy as that sounds it wouldn't surprise a single person here. Even the donkey.
I'd like to see a deep dive reaction to that "private unlisted" Tommy video that he had sent to you guys. I had watched it all when making my last video and besides him continuously saying "You Know" and making up bizarre lies. It seemed like he was on one hand trying to beg for you guys to give him a chance all while puffing his ego and taking cheap shots back at you guys. His body language was odd and his voice kept going up and down and clearly he made a tonne of cuts to the video so who knows how long the original one was. All I know is like how I showed in my video... so many things did not age well in it and it provided a lot of hilarity. I really hope you guys go over it!
That video was REALLY bizarre... Almost creepy. Tommy is a VERY strange person. This whole Amico thing has shined a huge spotlight on that fact. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he had people kidnapped and trapped in his basement.
"Their localization team". I imagine it was something like John A.:"Son, you took French in high school, right?" Jr: "Like maybe a year, Dad. I was trying to impress a girl..." John A.: "Perfect! You're in charge of localization! Way to earn that salary!"
Under the inspiring leadership of Tommy, Intellivision (however you spell it) has produced some of the most innovative premium boxes in gaming history, but still the haters rage on.
It doesn't make sense to me to even make a retro-themed console that is uber-powerful and has millions of colors, etc. Do they not understand why people liked retro computers and consoles in the first place? It's _because_ of their limitations, largely a result of extremely expensive RAM back in the day, which required them to come up with clever - and unique to each console/computer - ways to achieve certain things. And those differences and clever bits set each of those retro systems apart from the others and gave them their own _personalities._ Consoles of today are so evenly matched, processor-wise and have so similar features (like 1080p, 4k, 16.8 million colors, etc) that they have no personalities of their own, really.
I haven't had this much fun with a non-existent console since the Smach Z. Thank you guys so much and I'm looking forward for the inevitable victory lap!
Nope. Canceled last year and blamed it on covid, though I don't quite recall if they threw the towel before or after the Steam deck was announced. But not even those guys, filthy false DMCA'ers they are, sank as low as good ol' Tommy boy.
You're right Pat, I saw a few retro gamers who I follow and haven't been paying attention to the story around this, tweeting how the Amico would be launching soon. When he kept saying in the video that he was going to send this "European" console to his partners in Europe but it's clearly not a production unit plus the US power adapter. Just a farce from beginning to end and still trying to con people
Now the only dreams the Amico fanbois have are wet ones! Poor Shirtless Shill. Wifey's probably making him her b1tch for spending $10k on a car ride with Miyamoto-san's buddy!
Did you hear the latest from the so-called ‘official’ Amico fan page? They have idiots posting there who think this sorry excuse for an unboxing, means the consoles are in production. These people are fighting with others who KNOW the Amico isn’t being manufactured. SMFH The old adage is true in this case - ignorance is bliss Anyone who speaks the truth is instantly labeled a troll. It’s enough to make your stomach churn. I guess these dolts prefer sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming, “La, la, la la, laaaa!” than accepting reality and/or the truth.

This was not an "unboxing". This is not a retail product. It's complete vaporware at this point. I have some background in product and graphic design. This isn't even a good package, even though people are saying how nice it looks. It's a fail, a C- at best. The product name is WAY too small and illegible from a few feet away. The color is bland and doesn't catch the eye. There's nothing to tell you at a glance what this is. It looks like any random badly packaged Chinese junk product off Amazon or Banggood. We've never seen this thing run organically, from boot to play. There's always a cut. There's a reason for this. This isn't a real game console with proprietary firmware (at least I've seen no evidence it is). Pat called it an Orange Pi in a shell, but an Orange Pi is actually a fairly competent SBC that could probably run this junk software no problem. This thing is a housing with a cheap SBC that's probably a dual or quad-core Rockchip or Mediatek with 1 or 2 gigs of RAM at most, quite literally a $10-15 dollar part. It's running either some old reskinned version of Android, or a cut-down Linux with an Android emulator, which explains the reason they don't show the startup sequence, it's SLOW. Probably takes a solid 10-15 seconds to start up, and maybe that long to load a game. I bet this thing is mostly empty space inside with chunks of steel to give it some weight, like the junk Souljaboy was trying to sell a couple years ago. I'd love to see a teardown, but I don't think we ever will. All the games they've shown on this stupid thing have been incomplete, no real playthrough. All the games we've seen are just mobile games that are re-skinned, or bad copies of existing concepts. There's literally NOTHING here to justify the cost or even the development of this thing, no signature games at all, just mobile/kids game junk. The interface is terrible, looks like a high school kid designed it. It also fails basic design concepts, poor legibility, lack of obvious hierarchical action. All of this shit has been done before, and better, how could they get it so wrong? I'll tell you. They're not trying, and they've never been trying. This thing is total amateur hour. It's hard to believe any real developer has worked on this, so hard to believe I almost doubt any real developer has. The whole thing smells like it was farmed out to Chinese subcontractors who quit working on it because they didn't get paid. I've seen $100 plug and play consoles on Amazon that have better interfaces and better games, and that actually work. This whole thing is starting to look like either one big scam from the start (hello Coleco Chameleon), or the most incompetently run over-reaching project since the Phantom. I don't know much about this Alvarado guy. I've head he's a good guy with a solid reputation. Maybe he got sucked in to this fiasco and can't bail at this point. Maybe he jumped the shark, who knows? Obviously they tapped him to do this video because Tellarico is so toxic and they have nobody else who can present anything in a half credible way. The real question I have is how can a team of supposedly 40 people have only THIS to show after 3 years of work. It's beyond embarrassing. I'd certainly be embarrassed to say I was ever involved with the "new" Intellivision. When you look at what other companies like Gameshell or Evercade have produced in much less time for much less money, i.e. well-executed products that actually work, this is even more embarrassing. I don't know how many of you remember the episode of the Simpsons where the car company let Homer design his dream car because they wanted to create a car the average guy would want. This looks like they let some "average guys" design the software on this console....average guys in way over their heads.
I had a pre order for 2 units in... I was holding out, just in case, likely as many who had an og intellivision may have been... Recently my condo caught on fire, I lost nearly everything... have had to live in my car since it.... I recently put in for a refund, so $200.. as I REALLY need the money.. regardless if the system is coming out even .. I still really need, as times already were tough and now are catastrophic for me.. having gone from having pretty much everything I really ever needed plus to nothing ... Well, a few things and my car.. (am an audio engineer/musician... Had a recording studio in the condo.. was able to save some gear, but also.. gone, melted... things I can't just go replace.. had taken me years to acquire in the first place... and my dumb ass had no insurance) Time to start a refund update thread or weekly rundown.. if others have been waiting 6 weeks already.. I needed mine asap... and now just hoping I actually can even get it at all. Smh... sucks
I just recently started to watch your videos about the whole Amico debakel in no chronological order and it's getting more entertaining than I like to admit. This is my soap opera (read: rabbit hole) for the next few days. Thanks and greetings from Germany (PS: First my tax money goes to Uwe Boll and then to this?)
Too funny. I sincerely hope this thing comes out. I really want one. It'll be hilarious to pull it out in 10 years or so and tell buddies about this story and this feud. Best gamer beef ever.
The haters are their only hope to keep this thing alive tbh. Nobody is flocking to the boomer tubers for info on this thing. They want the carnage, the fails, the wails. It's like a car accident for your entertainment stand.
Pat, do the shaming, “These people need their money back” read-off. Honestly, one sure-fire way to get me to click on your channel is during these failed retro system scams.
They need to make a full length documentary about this entire thing. Something really polished. It would get millions of views. People love capitalist scams in documentary form.
They showed some custom PCBs in one of their videos a while back but no close look at them, and PCBs are cheap to produce (I've done it myself) - that doesn't mean they work, and even if they do, that doesn't mean they're ready for mass production. John even said in a livestream that they were hand-making the first batch in-house before manufacturing more. Does that mean they want to manufacture ~6000 units by hand? It's possible, but unlikely. He also mentioned that the hardware is final, and the only difference between a retail and developer unit is security permissions. Finally, he basically hand-waved the US power supply for the EU product. Pretty sure that's all BS.
Is that seriously the box for that ? love how they put in big bold letters VIDEO GAME CONSOLE like no shit Sherlock? Do they think the target audience is that dumb?
Pat needs to start gathering and documenting all these primary sources now. Start writing the definitive book on this whole fiasco Pat can make more money from all this than intellivision
7:42 _And then that web URL..._ - What Pat was clearly saying here, before Ian interrupted him, is that the misspelling of the brand name in the web address on the box, on top of being embarrassing, would also fail to take to the proper website.
in Germany speaks nobody about the amico! I and most germans has no nostalgic for the intellivision. Germany was a home computer Land in the 80s not a big console Land.
Anyone remember the smartengine funding campaign - where they had to follow SEC guidelines. So they had something like “not actually in production” slapped on every single picture.
Friend of mine did ask about the Amico which has been promised to him by Hans for xmas, I assumed that Hans might also still be waiting for one, but he actually came around with a picture of a console that looked exactly like the one from the unboxing, one controller was white as the only difference. My friend is still waiting and we haven´t heard from him since.
Pilot plastics, most likely. So a rougher plastic than consumer quality. Note that the console, packaging, and controllers are all scuffed to bits; and didn't have any proper packaging or even slots. Just imagine that sort of sliding into your doorstop in the post. Rattling around a high altitude turbulent flight, with the shoddy wiring that's surely inside...

It was a mild market contraction caused by the incompetence of one company. Europe was having a microcomputer boom, and Japan's market was as fierce as ever. Basically the Amico won't cause a market contraction even if it does have the same quality as the Atari 5200.
The Retro VGS/Coleco Chameleon focused way to much on the shell of the console. Mike Kennedy saw the jaguar mold and said “I can sell a system off of this” The Ataribox/Atari VCS focused way to much on the wood grain. And hey even though it was a pointless console, hey at least it came out. And even now the Amico focused is focused to much on those damn controllers. Tommy Tallerico got the rights to the name and grabbed the worst controller in history and said “I can sell a system off of this.” Now this comes out and it’s on its last legs. When will people learn? If you want to have a modern retro console you have to focus on the LEGACY OF THE BRAND. You have to have a brand so many people cared about that they will have to buy your new console. That’s why I am starting development on the APF MP-2000. The system will be a spiritual successor to the legendary APF MP-1000, the favorite console of an entire generation. More info coming soon.
I'll one up you. I'll make a console based on the Konix Multisystem by making the Konix Manysystem; nevermind that it was the precursor to a cursed legacy and sealed the fate of an already dying company!

Another thing that got to me is that everything else on the table seems to had disappeared when he starts unpacking the box.
Thanks for another good one guys. The fact that this is all they have to show for the MILLIONS of dollars they've squandered of other peoples hard-earned income is pretty sad commentary. It does absolutely nothing to prove they have the inventory and logistics prepared to move forward with mass production, shipping, retail sales, and long-term support for a consumer ready retail product.

Exactly, the flak this "console" gets is 1 million times more entertaining than the device itself.
I was once an ardent supporter of the amico before I learned the truth of their nefarious behavior. Now that I know better, I'm 💯 behind any and all criticism of them!
I would like to see them running outside with music playing 🎶
Even if it's complete trash I hope the people that bought these get one. It might become valuable as a collectable as a crazy oddity in the future? Hope they ship out something.
Pat needs to start now getting all the primary sources lines up and start writing the definitive book on this whole fiasco.
He can end up making more than intellivision on this whole fiasco
This wasn't an unboxing. It was an unveiling of a box.
sad.
@Dan Smith I'd buy the Super Famicom purely for the box, (because by gosh, that is some sexy packaging.) but I'd actually be getting a worthwhile product instead of the equivalent of a Leapster for 50 year olds.
@Dan Smith To rephrase: [If the SNES/Super Famicom was a new indie console...]
I like cheap hardware with stuffed in games.
Did you just say the NES was a better console than the Switch?
You see him press the button, then it cuts to a video on the screen. There's no proof that console was connected to anything.
I might play my Nintondo Swatch
@@haroldhall1517And listen to the xblox oof
Pat made a good point about the upload date. This video could've been made a few weeks ago, or months ago. And if GameStop started charging preorders, it means Intellivision did not inform GameStop or other retailers about their postponement.
They failed to inform anyone of anything, par for the course.
Ironically they have no Golf game in the works. Something the elderly appreciate and would get into, but no let's put all this other garbage Tommy wanted as a child.
Most companies tend to avoid informing shops until it’s obvious
The mandate "all games have local co-op" was obviously going to lead to some ridiculous adds. We've seen it with FInnigan Fox where they added a random, unrelated shooter level to satisfy that requirement. Which means that during the actual platforming part of their only platformer (because EWJ4 is dead), the other player is just sitting and watching. Any game that doesn't have multiplayer, they could just add a random co-op Pong game (one person moves, one person launches the ball), and say "See! Couch co-op! Requirement met!".
Don't forget, it's _local_ co op. So if your bestie is in Cali and you're in Pennsylvania, well you lose, I guess.
Earthworm Jim isn't dead. Nintendo just released one on the Switch.
This should’ve been an alibaba console to begin with, probably would’ve even worked lol
Does anybody know why it says wireless charging on the controller dock but then clearly has a 3pin charging port at the bottom of each controller doc..
Good catch.
Add it to the list of easily defined terms that Intellivision had to redefine to cover their inept decision making.
You guys rock. Cheers for keeping an eye on this dead horse carcasses that’s being dragged around a dusty desert of deceived backers with no oasis in sight.
Gamestop has been charging peoples account today for the Amico and telling them it’s shipping.
Hmmm
Because of all the gaming racists and elite haters!
The fact that the comments are turned off is a huge red flag
What a box! How could I not pre-order for all this hot cornhole action?
Grandma's Cornhole Tosser!
With a box like that, I wouldn't even need the cornhole! 🍆💦💦💦📦🌽
The Gloryhole DLC woulda been stellar.
Don’t forget about their AAA title, TT’s Cornhole!
@@gdubbz884 And the unkockable DLC is a picture of TT’s bumpy, shaved ass cheeks! ROFLMAO!
GameStop has started charging people's credit cards for their preorders this morning.
Being told that their Amicos will ship soon, that would be quite the accidental April Fool's joke
Make that list of unreimbursed pre-orders a weekly video!
I've said it on other reaction videos on this "unboxing". The fact that they disabled comments on that video speaks VOLUMES.
Omg, I never noticed the misspelling on their own name…. That’s just laughable…
I think the iron deficiency in his vegan diet has made him deranged and he desperately needs a meatball and a shot of jack daniels
That video was REALLY bizarre... Almost creepy. Tommy is a VERY strange person. This whole Amico thing has shined a huge spotlight on that fact. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he had people kidnapped and trapped in his basement.
Your wish has come true! 😅
"Their localization team". I imagine it was something like
John A.:"Son, you took French in high school, right?"
Jr: "Like maybe a year, Dad. I was trying to impress a girl..."
John A.: "Perfect!
Did that thing ever come out? I remember shopdrop&retro talking about it.
Nope. Canceled last year and blamed it on covid, though I don't quite recall if they threw the towel before or after the Steam deck was announced. But not even those guys, filthy false DMCA'ers they are, sank as low as good ol' Tommy boy.
@@chrissawyer1484 No it didn't. But The Phawx has a working prototype and he didn't even preorder the thing

Good content. 👍
Just a farce from beginning to end and still trying to con people
The big empty space inside the Amico box is reserved for all the investor's broken dreams and Tommy's empty promises.
🤣💯
Lol!!!!
you mean like the big empty space in the cults heads
Now the only dreams the Amico fanbois have are wet ones! Poor Shirtless Shill. Wifey's probably making him her b1tch for spending $10k on a car ride with Miyamoto-san's buddy!
Amico has always looked like a late 90s cellphone to me, it's kinda cheesy and out of date. Actually maybe Tommy was the perfect mascot
Did you hear the latest from the so-called ‘official’ Amico fan page? They have idiots posting there who think this sorry excuse for an unboxing, means the consoles are in production. These people are fighting with others who KNOW the Amico isn’t being manufactured. SMFH The old adage is true in this case - ignorance is bliss
Anyone who speaks the truth is instantly labeled a troll. It’s enough to make your stomach churn. I guess these dolts prefer sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming, “La, la, la la, laaaa!” than accepting reality and/or the truth.
Gamestop is taking the full amount out of are credit cards today because they say it's coming out tomorrow, Gamestop is refusing to give the money back because the units are in pre shipping mode lol.
Yay class action, right when IE is about to close their headquarters and Tommy buggers off to who knows where, playing seven wing angel or whatever tf that garbage is
“Tommy admitted he trolled us……..”
Wait a minute….. doesn’t tommy call every week to troll you ?
Wow that's so crazy! Props to you guys for standing up for yourselves and calling out bs like this. More and more companies feel like they can just blatantly rip people off and it makes me so mad! By the way you guys have one of the best podcast ever and it's awesome to see how far you've come! Thanks for entertaining us through these crazy times. I want someone to get one of these prototypes and crack it open to see what is really in it. There has to be only a couple floating around.
"They butchered my corn hole!!!"
Yeah, that'll sell shirts.
Had a recording studio in the condo.. was able to save some gear, but also.. gone, melted... things I can't just go replace.. had taken me years to acquire in the first place... and my dumb ass had no insurance)
Time to start a refund update thread or weekly rundown.. if others have been waiting 6 weeks already.. I needed mine asap... and now just hoping I actually can even get it at all. Smh... sucks
Fake unboxing for a fake console. Why would I expect anything else?
Where's the unlisted 50 minute video at? I MUST SEE.
"ZOMG! It has a box now! The Amico MUST be ready and coming out soon if it has a BOX!"
gonna need a shirt with an Amico logo and underneath it the tagline "They Butchered My Cornhole!"
“They butchered my Cornhole!”
That’s gonna be a classic.
Whenever you put up a new Amico video, I grab some snacks and get a drink and sit back and enjoy because these videos are events!
Don't forget that they owe the Republic 100 units.
The box was spun a few revolutions when John showed it. I think that counts as revolutionary.
You definitely put a positive spin on the situation 🥴
Is that seriously the box for that ? love how they put in big bold letters VIDEO GAME CONSOLE like no shit Sherlock? Do they think the target audience is that dumb?
@@dissraps but you’d never see that on a PlayStation or Xbox etc
They did it so consumers don't think the Amico is a footbath with 2 Zunes included.

Pat can make more money from all this than intellivision
While that's not a high bar to pass, considering Intellivision is a _deficit,_ a pretty penny indeed.
I knew it was fishy cuz the box wasn't SEEEEAALLED!
7:42 _And then that web URL..._ - What Pat was clearly saying here, before Ian interrupted him, is that the misspelling of the brand name in the web address on the box, on top of being embarrassing, would also fail to take to the proper website.

So is the GameStop shipping date just a place holder? I'm curious.
Last day of the quarter very much screams yes.
in Germany speaks nobody about the amico!
Is that the same hans that claimed my new sega Saturn was his when I bought it on release day in the 90s?
Im curious, what is this is "system" made from? Did they get a sample cases and such made for it?
Pilot plastics, most likely. So a rougher plastic than consumer quality.
Note that the console, packaging, and controllers are all scuffed to bits; and didn't have any proper packaging or even slots.
Just imagine that sort of sliding into your doorstop in the post. Rattling around a high altitude turbulent flight, with the shoddy wiring that's surely inside...
I cant believe the Amico butchered Pat's corn hole
When they spend more than 30 seconds talking about Language options in their UI then you have a problem lol

Tommy T. have lost all my respect for being a Con Artist. There is a reason why the crash of 1983 happened. History is beginning to repeat itself
It was a mild market contraction caused by the incompetence of one company.
Europe was having a microcomputer boom, and Japan's market was as fierce as ever.
Basically the Amico won't cause a market contraction even if it does have the same quality as the Atari 5200.
Quote of the YEAR so far, "They butchered my cornhole".
I don't see how anyone working on the Amico looked at the term "pack-in-games" and didn't see anything wrong...
The Retro VGS/Coleco Chameleon focused way to much on the shell of the console. Mike Kennedy saw the jaguar mold and said “I can sell a system off of this”
The Ataribox/Atari VCS focused way to much on the wood grain.

I agree about the controllers. there is no way that those things are going to be any good after getting shipped. How often do you get cables that are not in a bag when you get them. Another thing that got to me is that everything else on the table seems to had disappeared when he starts unpacking the box.
Keep up the good fight, guys! I'm vicariously getting revenge on them for stealing my deposit on their vaporware through you! 😁👍👍
they're not refunding your pre-order either? That's the b.s. I'm dealing with.
Is the amico box made of gold? They have a good idea. Just not done right.

Did i miss the manual in the box? I mean a real manual not the cheap single paper starting guide.
This is so amateur, I mean the power brick isn't even in its actual plastic. The box looked beat and like it's been opened multiple times. All of this is just so sleazy, and desperate. I can't wait for the victory lap video it will be epic!
I read a comment that if you look at them showing off the system on the tv, at the lower right you can see a laptop running OBS. It's not running off an actual system, just a prerecorded video.
OBS can also be used for valid video capture; which to wit, why go though the pain of faking a video when you already have a beat up devkit?
“And then they butchered my Cornhole” is my favorite quote that has come out of this situation. 😂
