Yeah because acetone and Butanone is better, its very flammable. When inhaled you should contact poison control and if exposed to the skin wash off immediately. But I'm sure the coach's aren't sharing this info with the kids who use it and rub their shoes and then use there hands to cover a cough and expose themselves to the chemicals inside.

It’s mostly not the shoes if the shoes still have rubber in them than they’re good. Use your shoes for indoor outdoor any shoe will be killed in a few hooping days. But indoor if the floor is old and dusty. The owners just need to wax the floor and everything will be good
Unfortunately no one is going to clean the court as regularly or as often as needed. So yes, it is normally the court, not just the shoes, but this still fixes that.
We used to take a rag and damp it with bleach before our games, worked like a charm. I don’t remember if the bottoms lost color or not but probably not because I was on the bench and we used very little.
Water is a safer fix than hand sanitizer but it won’t do much after a few possessions if the court is dusty. Grip Spritz will work all game, even on a dusty court!
Sounds really sticky at first to pick up all that dusty. Then really slippery once it dries and all the tread on the soles of the shoes is filled it and it’s just a flat dusty surface
Alcohol, the main chemical in hand sanitizer, will break down and deteriorate rubber. It’s makes the soles super dry, brittle and will eventually crack. It’ll make them more slippery.

The real answer is to scuff up the bottom with some sort of rotary tool. It freshens up the rubber on the bottom. They will feel brand new.
