2:07 even weirder is that Megatron don’t even have a super mode but yet he is able to fight on par and even beat Super Optimus. So I guess Megatron is like a Transformers equivalent of one of those Dragon Ball villains that can match Super Saiyans in strength despite not having transformations

Yeah, super Optimus really doesn't seem very super, you'd think he'd be a powerhouse that would give the Autobots a Real Edge considering they have equal numbers to the cons, but... NOPE.
I love how the "YOUR LIKES!!!" Gets more demonic and the "Please give" gets more cutesy in every video.
What's funny is I actually dialed back on both recently, but I'm building them back up, which makes them seem like they are still getting bigger and smaller.

This show was my introduction to the Transformers IP when I was a little boy.
I think it was that for a lot of people.
You know you really got to show some appreciation for Jetfire in this show. His important role of being Prime's pair of pants is very important

Fred was annoying but he did 2 useful things, one was helping find an OP minicon for the blaster. Because fat.

I do remember Armada being one of the Transformers shows where the human characters are mostly useless. Alexis is the only useful especially her bond with Starscream but other than, we have to deal with one who simped for a girl that doesn’t even exist and another that just talks about food all day long
Yeah, I rewatched a good bit of the show to get some of these shots, and the humans just stood there watching the fights for the most part.
I think the best episode in my opinion was Rebellion because despite its faulty dubbing, the episode actually focused on the Decepticons and the humans weren't in it.
Rad had a moment here and there and was more useful in Energon, Billy was later on so that was forgiven, Fred did something useful TWICE! Carlos has done F-all during Armada and Energon. The whole series could've gone without him and literally nothing would change.

@@PerspectiveEnd Also. The Japanese Sub had more competent and finished animation. I don't know why the English Dub has uneven animation: times it looks good and other times it looks ugly (but no where near the level of G1).

I never actually watched the show but I spent hundreds of hours just noodling around the rainforest and glacier levels and failing to beat Megatron. I only saw the ending because came and I found videos of it here on YT after my PS2 got stolen.

Edit: also armada was actually quite fun as a show. The human characters, basically did nothing though, there was also this one scene sometime in the last episode that, can be easily taken out of context
Going through the show to get the shots that I did, yeah they REALLY just stood there, and looked at other people doing stuff for the most part.

Armada continues the tradition of making Transformers fans think there are more animation errors in a show than intended because the versions available in English are literally unfinished like Rhino's G1 DVDs.
Well no that's just true in this instance. It doesn't matter that when it came to Japan they spent more money to fix it, when it aired it was full of Animation Errors.
There is a Difference between, a show airing without animation errors, and having a later release create a ton, and a show airing with a ton, and a later release fixing them.
@@PerspectiveEnd Aaron Archer has said Armada's dub was quite literally made with unfinished animation, they didn't "spend more money to fix it" for Japan. It got rushed to the American market, which didn't allow the studio to finish the basic animation process (IE doing in-betweening, fixing placeholder effects, correcting off model characters etc). It gets worse in Energon's case where full episodes weren't even dubbed. This is entirely the cause of America and Japan operating on different seasonal release schedules. The Japanese side was caught off gaurd when their production deadlines didn't meet Hasbro's haste since their planning and schedule followed the intended Japanese release. Hasbro rushed it out so badly that in several instances, they didn't properly translate characters' names from the Japanese scripts Optimus even calls himself Convoy in the Armada dub in some instances.
What Rhino released for G1 were literally unfinished work prints, and the Armada dub also comprised of... unfinished work prints. Hence many of the same missing production elements in both.
It was the Aired state. That counts. Once it airs, you have locked in that's the way it looked when people's memories of it formed. It doesn't matter if you counted it as unfinished at the time, any later versions can only be fixed versions.
Truly Demolisher made Armada an anime because he was the fan service.

The weird head on Prime's super mode is a major factor in why I disliked it. It isn't until Cybertron that Prime gets another good super mode.

When I gathered the pictures initially I didn't realize that's what it was, then when I grabbed screenshots from the show, I realized my mistake, but it still helped the joke work, so I left it.
Every time Shadow is brought up in a video, it reminds me that he's going to be voiced by keanu Reeves in the movie this year. At least the people behind the films are having fun with him while the comic writers avoid him due to all of the mandates his character has

I rewatched Armada about a year ago. It has aged like moldy bread covered in curdled milk. I still enjoyed it though. Armada Starscream is probably my 2nd favorite after the G1 schemer.
Yeah, rewatching what I did to make this video, I feel that. The Voice acting is bad, the characters are weak, the animation is terrible, and the pacing is AWKWARD.
@@PerspectiveEnd All of these things are true. Apparently the japanese version has slightly improved animation.
The problem with Armada was that we (the westerners) got the unfinished animation, because we wanted the show out before it aired in Japan.

You know the only reason Tidal Wave was not brought up in this roast is just because PE is intimidated by that chin, nipple cannons… and the size that would make sure the State he was in was blown back to the stone age
Whilst I was unable to sit through Silverbolt's video (despite it at least having good arguments for it's problems), I enjoyed the roasts here. Honestly, I would love to see a roast or some Roast-A-Mans of Beast Wars' Kingdom/Legacy Era Stylisations.

The problem was probably since I enjoyed that figure a lot, and the amount of rage at the figure made me feel similar to the first Swoop coverage.

1:15 was the Cybertron form of Optimus before he took an earth mode, not an animation error but an actual alternate design there's weirdly no figure of. Might've already been brought up but I'm too lazy to scroll through every comment to see.
I realized that after I got the screenshots from the show, but I thought it worked for the Joke.

Also I just remembered I think there was some non transforming version of the cybertron form as one of the non-transforming posable figures takara came out with back int he day at some point but I could be wrong. Still weird to me years later no actual transforming figures of the cybertron modes from this show seem to exist, though i got a suspicion siege shockwaves battleship alt mode might be a reference to tidal wave's cybetron form that appears onscreen in a flashback for like 3 seconds kind of like how siege magnus was a reference to RID magnus.

I remember Armada so well back when it was on toonami and it was amazing to me as a kid when I look back now at the fight scenes and designs, they look super bulky and the fights are stiff not to mention the animation for the US version got cheapened down which is why there's so many imperfections in them hilariously enough.
Honestly, i wanna hear more of shockwaves weird anime plot (3:47) although, i would probably become more and more traumatized the more information i would get...... still wanna know

I do a series called roast a man's if you've never seen it, they're shorts so they fly under a lot of people's radars.
I've never done a murder drones there, but I do tons of stuff that's not transformers in that, and upkeep of murder drones in my mind and for the future.

Funny thing is that I actually watched the Armada series in 2022 alongside Sex Education so when I saw a post talking about if the last 2 shows I saw had a crossover and how it would work, I actually thought the Bayverse would basically if Sex Education and Transformers Armada had a crossover
I simply appreciate Armada's significant differentiation in designs. No buckethead Megatron for example. This show's animation quality is truly something horrible. It might be the most inconsistent and poorly controlled show since G1, and debatably is less consistent than Energon since it's just reusing the same CAD Files for every character. I want to get an accurate Armada Prime and customize it, but there IS no accurate Armada Prime.
Yeah it is cool to see some completely different takes.

There was a lot of screaming, growling and mopping on the show; with Hot Shot being one of the bigger culprits. This show was also made at the time when emo culture and Pokemon was vogue.
I didn't notice what I saw of it being too Emo, and I feel like Emo was more a 2004 thing.

Yeah I realized that when I watched the show to get the shots I used for this one, but at the same time, it still worked with the joke.
Oh boy, the animation was kinda rough here. I guess we see why they tried going CG again. Blurr was a stoic marksman that did the kibble trenchcoat before movie Crosshairs and also has the flying car mode like Tracks. Improvement over G1 Blurr that's for sure. Sideswipe...he's like the car he's based on, the Skyline GTR33. The one that NO ONE cares about and got the worst toy. The one true Jetfire of this franchise was cool, even when he did his part being Prime's super pants. Tidal Wave is proof mass shifting exists outside of just G1. Scavenger was kinda interesting, he also beats up Hot Shot a few times for the kid-appeal haters out there. Smokescreen is the kinda Hound, but sadly forgettable and forgotten after his body upgrade. Notice how Armada Starscream is the retelling of Beast Wars Starscream's "death" or what he told everyone?
