@@vitoman50 do you have a video about refurbishing an older track? i mean, i have a tyco daredevil jump and it looks like in some parts of the track electricity is missing because the cars are not moving.
I can put one up soon. You can check the contract s on the end of the rail to make sure they are clean rust free and contacting the end of the other track rails.
Watched all 3 of the Tyco Rebuild Videos. Love them, There excellent, pickup a Lot of cars recently, 10-13 were Tyco 440. Was always intimidated by this chassis to work on it, not anymore, thanks to you, ty again for sharing, JC
The car looks like it's gett'n around pretty good 👍🏻 where did you purchase the double side springs ? I checked e bay and couldn't come up with any. Thanks
weird questionn potentially, but mainly I have been driving 1/24 non-mag cars. Do the motor magnets in ho cars help with traction in addition the traction specific ones?.
Rob, in general, there may be some traction assistance from the motor magnets in some of the HO cars that wasn't actually designed for that purpose. In some cases, the slight additional traction assistance obtained from the motor magnets was just a function of how close the car sits on the track. The manufacturers considered it a "bonus" and went with it. A few car types were specifically designed to allow the motor magnets to double as traction magnets. AFX Magnatracton cars come to mind. As more powerful after-market magnets became available, motor mags got a boost to their secondary (and mostly unintended) function as traction magnets. Just as an aside, I used to race 1/24 scale cars on tracks designed for mag racing. Magnatech Raceway, owned by Jim Hunnicutt, in San Antonio, Texas was the place. Jim even patented the copper coated steel braid used on his tracks and so the only place to get magnetic copper braid is through distributors of Jim's product.
vitoman50 vitoman im putting together my first black widow amateur 440 Tyco now I’ve been rebuilding the Tycos together But just stock amateurs this is my first Black widow I have Decent magnets I have the viper 4 and the AMG pro-42 Magnets. Now on the spacers if the engine is moving too much where are you put the second spacers . And also when are we going to see you again .
James never been to one checked it out no one that I race with has any info. I will do some research and get back to you. Sounds interesting...Thanks for watching.
Gregory: $5.00 on the front bicycle tires, $3.79 rear rims, $3.79 rear tires, $5.00 For a new armature narrow style, $1.50 shoe springs $ 2.00 odd and end shims. Check out the first and second videos they go into a little more detail. And thanks for Watching Gregory....
a little on the dark side, hard to see a lot of the details.. but good videos.. however..earlier you said the bushing/spacer in the front of the motor keeps oil out of the armature and brushes.. if you put spacers in the rear and none in the front, you now have oil going into the motor brushes -at least from what you told us/showed us in the tear down.. ?? rather contradictory and confusing.. also , wouldn't it be just a bit easier to have some sort of shims to spread the chassis a bit to reinstall the motor assembly back into the chassis? and.. I think some stamp tweezers are a must for working on many diff slot cars..
Dude knows what he's talking about
absolutely loved these 3 440x2 tear downs vids! thanks a lot!
Your welcome sr

How much money did this rebuild cost?

Simon Sez There is always a plastic shim on the front shaft to prevent oil from getting in. But the extra shim is a safe guard.
never saw or heard that info..maybe i missed it.?
I'm new can you you run Tyco on afx track with no mods?
mzondi1970 Yes I'm running all makes of chassis on my Tomy Afx track. Just make sure you keep the tire size right for the track you are running on.
Thanks for watching.
