1. Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and drivers door is unlocked.
2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
D. Close the drivers door.
E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
F. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote key fob clicker simultaneously for 1.5 seconds.
B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote key fob was not accepted.
C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote fob clickers.
7. Open drivers door.
This programming procedure will program a remote key fob clicker on the following years of Toyota Tundra : 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Mine did everything as shown and even cycled at the end, but it still doesn’t lock and unlock ☹️

Alternate programming procedure: Have all remotes for the vehicle ready.
1. Make sure all doors are closed
2. Open Driver’s door
3. Insert key into ignition, then remove it
4. Press LOCK and UNLOCK on the vehicle door lock switch at 1 second intervals 5 times.
5. Close and re-open driver’s door
6. Press LOCK and UNLOCK on the vehicle door lock switch at 1 second intervals 5 times.
7. Insert key into ignition switch
8. Turn the ignition to ON then back to OFF (Do NOT Start or crank engine).
9. Remove Key from ignition
10. Door locks should cycle to confirm entry into programming mode
Oh key fob, Press and hold LOCK & UNLOCK together for 1.5 seconds; then press and hold LOCK until the locks cycle
11. Locks should cycle once to confirm programming. If they cycle twice, the programming failed
12. Repeat button procedure to program remaining remotes
13. Close driver’s door. Test remotes.
This worked for my 2005 double cab limited unlike the video. Thank you!
This doesn’t work for my 2007 tundra. The 2007 is a different body and has a different key from the previous years tundra so is this process still applicable or am I screwed?

HELP!
ive tried this a hundred times now, and ive done the "delete other fobs" step where it cycles 5 times instead. Ive then tried to add my key. It works just like the video; the door lock cycles when i press the button! and then, once i open the door to exit program mode, it doesnt work at all after that. What do i do?
It triggered the alarm. It's a double cab and I followed the instructions for that
This worked on my '15 tacoma until i had my headlamps, taillights, side reflectors updated to Alphalux lights. I retried this and i get to the programming mode fine but it just doesn't take. Any advice or has anyone experienced the same?
My new OEM remote has the panic button on the back. Hopefully that won’t matter when I program it.

My remote now works as well as the siren button, but the alarm does not go off if somebody opens the door through the window like it should.
In 2024 worked for 2005 highlander. $14 remote off amazon.

I get all the way to the end and hit lock button on fob and the locks double cycle instead of single cycle and then fob does not work. Do you know what problem might be? 2003 tundra limited.
There may be too many remotes already programmed to the vehicle, you can have a maximum of 4 remotes programmed at one time. To erase all previous remotes and add additional ones, instead of simply adding additional remotes, you just need to do one step differently. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video and look at step "4. E." you need to to turn the ignition from On to OFF 5 times instead of once, to erase previous remotes. Also when you do this the door locks should cycle 5 times to indicate programming mode.

@@lamp7746 I’ve since found out that we might have a different, dealer installed alarm, not from factory. Is your current remote fcc: ELVATDD? If so then these factory options for programming will not work
Yes - you are correct that this will only work with Factory installed Systems, not Dealer installed. If you are unsure of what your vehicle has - take your VIN number and call a Toyota dealership. Speak with their parts department and they can look up the build sheet for your vehicle to see what options it has

OK so i had already ordered some remotes from ebay and amazon from seller: YourKeylessRemote. when they came in i was bummed that i would need to return them. I Decided to google the programming procedure one last time. alas, i found the following instructions which worked!
Step 1: To get started, enter the vehicle and close all doors, then lock the doors by using the door lock switch mounted on the driver's door panel.
Step 2: Turn the vehicle's ignition key ON then OFF 7 times ....ending in the off position. (personal observation was that no time necessary to wait between cycles)Do this quickly, around 2 cycles per second.
Step 3: Press and HOLD the Lock button on the transmitter (remote) until the Driver's Door Unlocks. (personal observation was that my doors didn't unlock but once I held the lock button on the remote for a couple seconds, I pressed unlock and all doors unlocked. This seems to conflict with another manual that says for step 3 to press and hold the unlock button until driver's door unlocks. You may have to try both to see what works for your vehicle.) MY truck unlocked the door when i pressed the lock button, yours may be different.
Step 4: Lock all doors by using the door lock switch mounted on the driver's door panel.
Step 5: Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for all transmitters that you need to program to operate the vehicle. Max of 4 per vehicle.

Hey I’m trying this with my 06 tundra and it is not working, I get to the end and the remote doesn’t connect, I tried the step u mentioned in the comment where u delete the previous remotes and no dice, any help?
If the vehicle is going into programming mode but not responding to the remote then there may be an issue with the remote you are using

Yes, the remote can be used - as long as its still the correct remote for the vehicle.

Does this work if I only have the master key?
yes it should - as long as the tundra has the factory remote option installed

Will this work with a key that’s attached to the fob 4in 1 key?
This will work on all 2003 - 2007 Tundra's that have the factory remote option installed but they did not come from the factory with a remote-head keys in those years.
Doesn't work. Maybe say "close and open" the door instead of "open and close" because how do you open the door if you start with it already open??
No matter what I do the Tundra will not accept the fobs. I've tried each of the 2 that I'm trying to program separately and together. at the end I always get a double lock unlock meaning the fob was not accepted.

@@PYR-Auto Thank you! I'll try that this afternoon. Both of the old remote are broken, and we bought the vehicle used so we don't know if there were any other fobs at some point.
@@PYR-Auto I successfully got it to to the 5 locks/unlocks, but the remotes still got the double lock/unlock everytime I tried them...

You may not have the correct fob. These tundras of these years come with factory or dealer installed systems. If you have a working remote you can just match the FCC ID on the back of it to the remote you need. If you have no working remotes - call a Toyota dealerships parts department with your VIN. They can look up the build sheet for the vehicle to see what options so you'll know what fob you need.

I have a 07 tundra I went throw this and it didn’t work.
My 2007 Tundra is the "new" model and this does not work.
My truck goes into programming mode but will not pair with the key fob.
Then there may be an issue with the fob you are using
@@PYR-Auto I found the problem. The key fob I ordered said it was for my truck. But it wasn’t. I searched the owners manual and found the FCC ID and ordered a key fob with that ID and it worked less than 5 minutes

No, you do not need the original fob but your vehicle does need to have the factory remote option. If you are unsure if your truck has the factory remote option, call a Toyota dealership with you VIN number. Speak with their parts department and they can look up the original build sheet for your Tundra to see what options it has.

Those who are struggling with the process and is getting two locks at the end vs 1, you need to get the genuine key fob from Toyota (will run you ~$60) and it’ll work. Do not fall for the same bs I went through Amazon’s listing of saying the correct FCC ID..
I seem can't get my 2007 Tundra Double Cab SR5 going to Program mode, regardless how many times I tried. Also, I have seen there are 2 other ways to program the fob, one of them requires to lock and unlock 5 times within few seconds and another method is using a cable connect to OBD to program the fob. I haven't tried the latter yet. What would your suggestion to get into the Program mode ?

I’m a locksmith. From my experience, the majority of the time when a Toyota vehicle won’t go into program mode buts because the vehicle reached its max number of remotes that can be programmed to it. The usual fix is to erase the vehicles remote memory and then program the remotes. I use a programmer to do this function. Not sure if you can do this without one
