In Bill's village lives a sad little boy whose summer time dreams are constantly crushed. Every weekend he runs to the pound shop to buy a water pistol but finds them sold out. In desperation he turns to the squirt bottle section, only to find another empty shelf.
I was the lucky sod who secretly commissioned a piece for my wife. After the video was over, I handed her your note. and she looked quite confused. The I handed her the box and she opened it up. She immediately started weeping. I wish you hadn't put that picture of your dad in there Bill. After we got rid of the picture and she saw the sweet doodlebot, she cried again, but this time tears of joy and amazement. It now has pride of place in her wonder cabinet. Thanks so much Bill! We both adore the little guy!
A very good ep! This feels like the culminating finale of Phase One of the BCU. So much jam packed into this one. Love the finger gun on your favorite bot.
Uncle Bill, this one right here... Mannnn, if I had to pick a single video of yours to be the "evergreen video" on your channel, it would be this one. You covered so much ground, and it was a joy to behold! Also, bigtime RESPECT for all the editing (and I saw those angle changes! ;)) that went into it. Outstanding.
Thank very much mate! I really appreciate it. Every video I see of yours makes me want to make a better video anyway so some of the credit goes to you!
Hey Crafsman, love all y'all do, did you see that bit at 2:24? And Bill, first video I've seen. Instant sub, keep em coming, and I'm gonna wander through your other vids. Cheers.
It's crazy how the primer just absolutely unifies the whole thing when it's done. That one solid color just makes the entire thing look like a solid piece. It's incredible
I have a paperclip tatoo on my arm cause I used to make robots outta paperclips, pens, erasers any thing i could find in the school halls. Love these doodle bot guys
Firstly, I just love watching people make little robots. Doodling is my favorite form of drawing, and you my friend have now introduced those two things into one beautiful doodlebot thing. I am, forever in your debt, oh mighty one. Secondly, this video is simply fantastic! A calm quite voice, golden comedy, A grade editing, and a man that looks like Obi Wan? What's not to love! I'm going to have to try and make some of those doodlebots.
this is the kind of video i was looking for when i found your channel, someone showing a basic guide to stick trash and make it look good... 200% worth the wait, and the bots look great, now i demand a #doodlebot challenge, the comunity needs it bill...
A tip I've learned from many TH-cam mini painters about dry brushing: use a slightly damp brush, and wipe your paint off on something that's not absorbent. That keeps the paint from getting chalky.
Watched several of your videos and you have become one of my favorite content creators on TH-cam. Thank you for your work. Everything about you is awesome. I absolutely love all your creations. Cheers!
This type of stuff kept me busy when I was very young. obviously incomparable to your robots, but I was handy with wires back then, with the spiral parts of notebooks mostly. I did robots and robot arms for broken toys, replacement head, endlessly enjoyable toys for a poor kid, and it was so much fun. I missed those good ol days, I am reminded by it with your work. Thanks for sharing em!
Honestly these really look like something you'd see in a retro-sci-fi setting like Fallout or something. The one with the treads is definitely the best of the bunch.
I really like these builds. I think of all the potential robots I've not given a chance at life to by throwing away all my junk. I feel ashamed. Love the work you put into your videos. Thanks for the great content.
Thank god I have found you, can’t cope with any more Americans putting oil washes over everything and building with EPS foam. My sanity thanks you. New subscriber. Don’t change the format it’s like listening to a best friend chat to you about his hobby. Top job sir!
For those wondering how Uncle Bill glues together plastics 3:44 The next tip, are the bits, the tips of the bits, bits from the tip…yeah this one 5:31 Putting together your bits 7:09 Get your rivets together 9:34 Some angle box for miter to do some cutting, like in 4…5…45… 12:16 Get some nice tunes out from a go’looking bits box 16:41 Get some good foam from EVA 19:44 Greble…Greeble? 23:17 Now, a little secret. Cuz Bi.., sorry, Uncle Bill said to like, subscribe and I did. So…here’s my comment I guess. Na, but seriously awesome video. I finally found the purpose for all the bits I used to get from underneath the racks, clothes racks in stores. I knew there wasn’t anything weird or wrong with me…
Never thought about doing any of this with junk. My goodness, junk and super glue. Really brilliant. Thanks for the inspiration, excellent models and editing!
So I've been meaning to tell youu that I am also obsessed with glue and pow. Thought I was the only one, and seeing you do that the first couple times really solidified my sub to you back then. I saw some a hole a long time ago that said that's how the military fixed scratches and dings in helicopter paint. Then you can sand it and paint it. You knows. I literally have glued things to my car this way and it really works. bills the best
Placeholder comment to induce TH-cam algorithm to treat Bill with a modicum of respect. Welcome back. Nice to have you back at it. #doodlebots well done. Lots of great ideas and tips.
Got turned on to your channel after watching the Pod Racing builds from the other channels. Next thing I know I am binge watching your videos from the oldest onwards. This is my favorite episode so far. Many great jokes, loved the doodlebots, the humor, the editing, music and mostly your creativity.
These are all brilliant. I've been a found object robot artist for 7 years now. I work in old metal junk parts but here recently, I've become intrigued by kit bashing and scratch-building with plastic parts, etc. I find it highly fascinating and Bill's channel is the best.
I know people have already said this, but I think this is my favorite episode you've done yet, all the great info in one place! Super super well done production-wise all around as well! And the bots turned out so lovely and full of character as always~
Im always amazed at how good your bead bots come out, i tried doing mine and after about 15 trials I gave up on making their claw/hand thingies so there is just the torso and legs. Love your humour and good to see you back!
This is one of my favorite episodes you've done, I love kitbashing and this kind of stuff makes me want to start kitbashing on my channel to share my builds. Thank you for being an inspiration.
**O** This is my face after I saw your "Heat Gun + Foam" trick......I have never seen this technique before and my life is changed! I don't have much access to good XPS foam where I live, but I can get that kinda cheap foam easily at the store. Mind. BLOWN.
Dude, I've just found your page from rambling through TH-cam and I bloody love it! I think I could listen to you ramble for ages and not only that, I've done all three things! Liked, commented and subscribed 🤌🏻
These are next level. So good. Might as well trash all your old bots cause they suck now. Just huck em in a paper shredder until it breaks and then set it on fire. Good job btw
My new favorite channel I came over from ten hundred n I’m sticking around I used to build stuff like this in high school might teach my daughter how n she’s wants t watch your videos too to 2 new subs thanks for sharing 😮
What an awesome collection of beadbots and I love the big underbites you add on some of them sort of like they're futuristic yet unevolved 😄 It's probably a good job you're selling these. Your favourite looks like a trouble maker, giving orders and getting ready to incite the robo-masses into a revolution against their witch handed overlord 😱
The production quality on this video is really good. Nice mix of quality advice, little tricks and a bunch of jokes about your dad. Congrats and keep up the good work.
I'm not commenting just for the algorithm... no, I'm not: I love this content!!! This channel is the best!!! More! More! More! I hope Ultron is listening
Loved to see how these 'evolved' and a couple of them made me think 'what if the Aliens from the film of the same name, were to make sentinels to watch over a conquered planet? ' anyway that passed and I enjoyed the rest of it immensely. In the words of NUTS magazine...Good work fella :)
You probably get a lot of praise for your work, which is well deserved, but I just want to say that your visuals, the scribbles, the type, and particularly your thumbnails, look amazing, and they make me want to click on every single one of your videos! Thank you for making something unique, that's a really nice break from all the clickbait and people looking surprised and what not on every other thumbnail on this platform. Keep it up!
Turned on the notification bell cause despite spying on me constantly TH-cam clearly doesn’t know me well enough to put these bangers vids in front of me on a timely basis

honestly, that primer coat is just magic. Great work - nice editing!

Best junk handling I've seen in a long time
Such a joy watching all your videos, the creativity and skill is strong in you. Do thank your brother, Daniel, for sending me your way.
I will not...
I can't decide whether the tips, the Death Valley level dry humor, or the lore is my favorite part.
It’s always a joy for me to watch you creating!❤
Those doodlebots are really neat looking. The painting looks great and gives them a nice worn finish.
