Man itd be cool if the dev added in elven style tree houses or other fantasy elements since so many people use this for dnd! Im probably gonna grab this for that purpose myself!
Hi! I already implemented the Steam Workshop for maps. It's planned to use it also for custom assets. I hope you like my little mapmaking tool. Feel free to try the demo first. :)
Just having seen the start so far (2 minutes,) I'm already wondering if they have the ability to place grids and then you could print and use it for dnd maps.
You can add a hex or square grid with adjustable position, rotation, grid size, tile size, color, line thickness, height and opacity. You can export as image as png/jpg/webp with/without grid in high resolution. Webm video export ist also possible. There are also templates for digital use or print like A4. There is also a environment template called Print Friendly. :)
Thank you! You can flexibly change the height of every object, path and plot. There are also land plot to create hills or cliffs. For a text tool I unfortunately haven't found the time yet. Sorry!
How do you keep the software from generating stuff before the path or plot is finished? Unfortunately, I'm on lower end hardware and the "on the fly generation" makes everything quite sluggish. I have looked through the settings but haven't found anything relating to this on the fly generation...
I could reallt see this a the ultimate, qucik D&D map maker, especially if you add, a grided layout and give different art style mod. support. Would be something to spend some money on on, but still, this as lowkey 2d sandbox city builder. 👌🏼
@Dextrosephus Hi, I'm glad you like it! A hex or square grid with adjustable properties is possible. :) I would like to expand the Steam Workshop. In addition to maps, custom assets should also be exchangeable in the future. (By the way, my tool is 3d. There were already ideas to add a first person mode in the future. But this is more a vision than a plan :) )
I'm starting a Westmarch style campaign for Shadowdark, and plan to start with a small village for a home base and then tweak and modify the map over time. Would this program be good for that? Basically I want to keep the same small hamlet and add to it each session when new buildings and improvements and growth take place. Hoping to avoid making entirely new maps each session.
I hope that doesn't devalue my little mapmaking tool Canvas of Kings. :) The community around worldbuilding, mapmaking, dungeons and dragons, pen and paper, ttrpg and fantasy books is not only great, but also big.
I cover these mapmaking tools all the time, they even inspired a game I created Playlist: th-cam.com/video/LhOlcRwR1o4/w-d-xo.html my game: nookrium.itch.io/mappa-imperium
@@mightofmerchantsI suspect this guy isn’t in your target demographic. I’ll probably use this for my next Pathfinder campaign. I’d grab it tonight but the game I’m prepping for right now is sci fi.
If you like these Map Making / Worldbuilding tool videos, I've made a new channel to house all of them: th-cam.com/video/zTFCGYU5aLE/w-d-xo.html

Cool. U could draw a massive network of rooms. Like a medieval city in one building.
This + Tabletop Simulator will be perfect for my online dnd campaign.
your creativity abounds , this is a nice fit for you ... Nice!
My man fired up the AOE2 soundtrack and my jaw dropped. Instant like and sub.
U should be a salesman at first i thought big whoop lol laaaame but through your excitement i kept watching and now want the map maker lol

Yup, thats more what its meant to be used for

It looks very nice and random, but I wish it were possible to snap things like paths to the grid, to keep things nice and orderly for D&D maps.
Very cool. Can you change elevation? Different trees like evergreens? Different biomes like snow or desert? Add text? Etc

You can activate snow and also falling snow. I also plan to add custom assets to the Steam Workshop. :)
@@mightofmerchants all good! Thanks for your responses. Purchasing today!
@TylerAndToast ohh, thank you very much! I hope you like my little mapmaking tool! :)
This went on sale and I am really considering getting this
Can this be downloaded or is it online only?

top-down manor lords?
can you make round floor plans for the towers. Also can you turn on an off roofs.
Hmm age of empires 2 organ music
The name would be pronounded Han-nes Broy-er, not Hans Brewer.
This game looks hard to learn :\
Things must be complete shit for indie games when your review is about an early access drawing "game"

No one is calling it a game, least of all its creator. Dont be a douchebag.
