Mix in some veggies if you want an omelet, and cook in a nonstick pan. (You can also add some crumbled tofu to the pan to provide the white of a scrambled egg). Not too shabby and so cheap and easy!

The amount of sodium in Just Egg is ridiculous!! I’ve been vegetarian, and sometimes vegan more than half my life, and I used to buy meat/dairy alternatives all the time. I had stockpiled prepackaged/processed vegan sausages, meatballs, cheese, etc. I came to my senses just out of intuition and omitted all of these processed foods. I started making my own home versions with whole foods, just by watching TH-cam channels… and my stomach, body and mind feel SO much better. I’m Indian, so we do make mung bean “omelettes” or with chickpea flour. In south India they make something called Dosa out of ground up rice and lentils/beans, which is like a crepe almost. But you can grind up soaked rice and/or lentils/beans in a food processor and create an omelette. Key ingredient to add is : Kala namac (black salt) This salt is very sulphuric and smells like eggs. You need this to imitate eggs. This is a staple in any Indian household. We use it on fruit salads, and all sorts of snacks, parathas, etc.
170mg of sodium per serving isn’t ridiculous. It is within daily consumption parameters. The other thing to be concerned about is people with high blood pressure or heart disease should eat it in moderation.

Score! We got some healthier non dairy dairy things like that for a penny apiece. I thought they had mismarked until finally the person just writes down one and the scent mark because they were trying to do it with decibels and they messed up. But while they were figuring it out with my partner I was filling a box with every single one of everything and so we had milk products creamers, vegan margarine with cold-pressed oil as opposed to heated solvent extracted like regular grease. I got soy yogurts non-GMO in the big gallon I believe they are those big buckets I think I got 50 Penny apiece I also got minimally processed coconut a few were flavored the rest was just non-flavored also a penny apiece so we went out with his massive cart full of stuff for $22 or something and it was added up to what it was at the regular store and it was literally hundreds of dollars for 20 something or way less? my partner is hearing me use voice to text and they're saying it was way less as a penny apiece a hundred items are a dollar so I guess it was just a few bucks for hundreds of items and luckily they lasted for forever we finished it without even trying and nothing went bad. Luckily there's a fridge at the shop so that's my exciting story of getting things for a penny apiece. They had just marked it or we wouldn't have gotten it and I actually got what is the fake cheese? It reminds me of the word violet anyway we got a bunch of that and another brand the other brand had the better melty kinds of cheese but the one that the Violet name had a smoked one that wasn't a chunk and that was tasty! Like you could have put that on toothpicks with cheese eaters and they wouldn't have known that that was a cheese. I myself have never eaten animal products. I was born allergic and by 3 years old. The amount of pesticides and herbicides that have been sprayed around here lately, which is illegal around our condo is killing me. I am allergic to all foods right now and everything's infected. That's really disappointing for a person who hasn't had a virus since they were a baby. Anyway that's a really long way of saying I got a good deal for a penny. And also I don't miss these things because I never eat them. But when I was about four I remember tasting a bite of somebody's mushroom egg foo young the egg gag me to no end but I loved the MSG beansprout part with the mushrooms and the gravy that was made out of mushrooms they were vegetarian but not vegan. Ever since then I've wanted to make egg foo young so 56 years later I might buy some of that just to make egg foo young once

I've been a lacto vegitarian since the 70's. I just tried Just eggs for the first time and I'm very impressed!!! So thankful for this product and I definitely appreciate this health information. Thank you for delving so deeply into the ingredients!!!
This video is super informative. I found some on sale and tried them and thought they were EXCELLENT. The best scrambled eggs I've ever had, and no chickens brutalized and tortured. While I knew it was WAY better than real eggs health wise, I feel way more informed about exactly why that's so after this video.
I myself am not vegan, but my brother is and he and I share the opinion that replacing animal products with extremely processed, additive and preservative filled alternatives kind of defeats the purpose of cutting out animal products in the first place. I'm not knocking this product down or anything, if your veganism stems from compassion towards animals and you struggle to find protein sources that can be easily incorporated into a variety of meals then this product is a great answer. But as I understand it, vegan culture often overlaps with ideas about fresh food and sustainable sources, and the recent trend of heavily processed replacements for animal products that use things like meat glue and liquid smoke feels antithetical to the cause, both in their repulsive compositions and in that they hold on to the idea that mass produced animal products will always be an inseparable part of humanity's lifestyle and that we need to recreate artificial versions of them for the people who refuse to use them. As an omnivore, I generally try to get my animal products and all other produce from local farms with transparent practices, since I believe they do much more for animals and the planet than EAT JUST products. I did want to say though that I very much appreciate your very researched breakdown of these ingredients.
There's many vegans that shoot for whole food plant based eating, and eat little to none of the highly processed items like Just egg. Personally, I don't buy the stuff, but I will ocassionally get veggie burgers or something similar to keep on hand just in case. I don't think anyone will argue that products like Just egg are a real health food; I feel they're a step in the right direction, or an occasional treat. I'm watching this video because I'm now on a vegan egg recipe kick with mung beans [except I used yellow split peas because I'm too lazy to get to an Asian market] and I'm really hooked. I'm vegetarian for 15 years, essentially vegan for about 5. I haven't had eggs in a long while, but a vegan 'scrambled egg' recipe is pretty dang good for what it is, and healthy, because it's just beans and spices, not at all processed. It's not like you can't tell that it's not really eggs, but it's good in it's own right. I've come across a lot of awesome recipes from YT channels that are whole food plant based, and are surprisingly good : ) But I think we both agree that hightly processed products like Just egg aren't a good mainstay for a healthy diet.
Mike you avoid oils, because oils are highly processed. Yet Canola oil is a highly processed and highly refined oil. Do you even know the extreme processing that rape seeds must undergo to extract oil from them. I would not touch Canola oil with a ten foot pole. Olive and avocado oils are much better.
JUST egg is bomb! I have it maybe once every couple of months as a loaded veggie omelet or sometimes add it to my favorite vegan fried rice recipe from the Thug Kitchen cookbook.

I bought the pre-made patties of JUST egg for a while and had them on thin multi-grain bagels with some natural unsweetened ketchup. Enjoyed it. Ate it probably every day for a month. But the Canola Oil was what got me to go back to oatmeal.
I don’t see the point of getting Just Egg. It’s easy to just make it from scratch from mung bean or chick pea flour. They both work because of the yellow color. We call it paper dosa, which is literally a vegan omelet. Also the ingredients are better than what “Just” puts into it.

I highly doubt of this supposed omega 3 content of oils especially in a processed products like this, as Greger said EFA's doesnt last very long in oils compared to the ones in whole foods which are protected by the nutrients and polyphenols.
I love this product, HOWEVER, i will say.. that the ONLY when I eat this is when my stomach hurts! Every morning I've had it, I've just had stomach pains that whole day.. It is super delicious though!
I have hyperthyroidism so real eggs don’t benefit me they actually do the opposite (just the yolks which are the best part imo) so I stopped eating eggs until one day I found these at my local supermarket, They are sooo good and I can actually eat these without worsening my condition. These are great highly recommended!
Thank you for addressing the igf-1 factor in Just Egg, I was concerned about that. Does the same apply to isolated soy protein in mock meat? In that is it negligible enough to ignore? Or what amounts are safe? TIA! Great video overall. Thanks 💕

@@alexandervonhumboldt1123 I know. I think that this is such a strong and objective argument against the vegan diet. Please, don’t feel guilty giving them real eggs! Humans were eating eggs for thousands of years - they’re not the devil. Unlike this concoction of overly processed ingredients devoid if nutrients, an egg has all the nutrients needed for human body - all the B vitamins, and all the fat soluble vitamins (ADEK) needed for a developing body. Don’t worry about cholesterol - the cholesterol you eat has little to no effect on your blood cholesterol - our scientific view on this changes. Try to get eggs locally - this way you support local small farm businesses. Buy organic if not available. I myself don't see a need for an egg substitute though in my non vegan days I did enjoy omlette occasionally, quiche rarely... but I know people, non vegetarians, with diabetes, blocked artery, hypertension etc. who love eating eggs regularly so for them this would be useful. Shall share at once. One thing I read/heard somewhere (probably from Dr. Klaper): eggs do have hormones too, which like those of dairy can be disruptive. If it is significant I think that should be mentioned: speaking of eggs usually only the saturated fat and cholesterol are mentioned as dangers. Good to see protein, 4gm luceine, discussed.
Key ingredient to add is : Kala namac (black salt)
This salt is very sulphuric and smells like eggs.

Not EGGcellent? 😆
I tried it and it was pretty good. I also make my own with mung beans, rice flour and seasonings and it is just as good for much less money.
Ohhh , I’d like to make that if u don’t mind sharing the recipe 👀

There's also a folded egg version of Just Egg, but it's sodium count is much higher at 500mg per serving, and there's 4 servings per container.
Haven't watched the video, so idk, but Just Egg is FREAKING DELICIOUS!! I have never tried eggs that ever tasted as good as those liquid Just Eggs 🤩😍😍
Should put on the title this a scientific breakdown. I was looking for taste test review lol. Thanks for deep insight though
Thanks Mic. It would be great if you could do a recreation from the beans to make it more of a whole food dish. Please do it! 🙏
Ahi is a fruit eaten like scramble eggs in Jamaica. It looks and tastes just like scramble eggs and it grows on trees, is a fruit product. I was eating it for a week back on vacay in 2002, thinking it was scrambled eggs, until someone told me it wasn’t eggs. I didn’t believe them until i googled it years later.
Thanks. This seems well investigated, analysed, clearly presented. 👏💐. Yes, why not add B12, good idea.
Thanks for another very good video.
you need animal foods to make the vitamin and minerals in plants bio available. That's why every tribe ever has always cooked meat with veg together and why no tribe survives on vegan meals. It's inhumane to think that's fair to your body
...” And three chicken eggs straight from the cloaca “.. Lol 😂
"Are you gas-lighting me?" LOL. I definitely know that feeling (read the label, eat the product, tastes so 'normal' have to read the ingredients again! 😁)
I am very interested the DIY omelette. Thank you for the info (and thanks for letting me know I can still eat the Just eggs 😁).
I just bought this product today and your video shows up, perfect timing. Thanks for checking it all out for me, now I feel better that I bought it.
Can't wait until Eat Just starts making lab-grown animal foods for the general public! They already started with culture chicken meat in Singapore! Wanna INVEST in their stocks! This will REALLY bring a systemic animal liberation!
#BoycottMeat and all other animal products of cruelty and exploitation in any way possible!
