- Hi Guys,
I have been hoarding my Distress Oxide Sprays since I bought them on clearance from Hobby Lobby. Today is the day that I have finally decided to use them. Thought it would be fun to spray my tags and lightly decorate them so that the spray can be the focal point of the tag.
I hope you enjoy this project and don’t forget to let me know which tag is your favorite.
Thanks for watching!
Big Hugs,
Maggie

Happy Crafting!
Some tips that Tim Holtz gave when using Distress Oxide sprays: shake them from side to side, like ringing a bell, versus shaking them up and down. This prevents the spray from traveling up the tube inside the bottle, which probably is accounting for the leaking. He also suggested laying them on their side when you’re using them to help them mix a little easier and then storing them upright. I’m all about the tips, ha ha. Not that I’ve actually tried any of them. (Tip to self: Open bottle, mix as directed, then spray.) I like the crackles on the pink tag and the way the green one came out. Very cute.📚💕
Hi Laurie, thanks for the tip. I’ll have to remember that the next time I use my sprays. Thanks for watching
Awesome and amazing! I didn't think I "needed" The vellum sets, oh yes I do! LOL! I love watching you create.
Hi Leslie, the vellum set is so cool. I’m so glad I found it. Glad you liked it too. Thanks so much for watching
Such great tags. I love all of them but my fav is the green one. The vellum just does something extra special. Thank you for a wonderful video.

Hi Laurie, I’m glad you liked them. Brought me a little out of my comfort zone adding so much color, but I like how they turned out. Thanks again for always watching
Hi Maggie!! Love your tags!! They are awesome!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Thanks so much for watching Liz
I like them all! Did you know that if you expose the oxides to water that they will actually oxidize? It changes the color a little. If you had a spray bottle with water, you could try that after spraying the oxide inks on the paper. You know I’m now waiting for you to do this, right? 😉😊
Hey Rhonda, I tried it on the papers I sprayed as samples and it looks so cool. I used a dropper to add water droplets to the paper and I really like it. Thanks for the tip.
I love them all, but the purple is my favorite. I’m so glad you did the vellum. I was on the fence about getting a vellum pack, but now will definitely do so. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Diane, glad you enjoyed them. I’m really happy with the vellum too. It added just the right touch in my opinion. Thanks so much for watching

Yeah I can comment. My phone is in and out😊❤ let's go with the flow shall we❤❤Gayle agostinelli shouted you out. She did a pocket/tucks with tim Holts and Edith holden fabric the other day. Fun fun fun. My fav is the pink and green but you know I love them all😊❤
Hi Suzy, I saw Gayle’s video. She did great. I’m so excited she enjoyed my project with the fabrics. Now I need to buy some of the Holden fabrics. They were so nice! Lol
Thanks again Suzy for watching
I have tons of sprays, inks, markers etc and am slowly building my collection of TH’s watercolor pencils BUT have such a hard time adding color to my projects! I think I’m just going to have to just go for it. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Mary Jane, I know what you mean. I have a few of the pencils and still have them new in the package. Lol. But little by little we’ll start trying to add color. :)
Thanks so much for watching
Loved all of these….really can’t choose a favorite but I do love the crackle stamp look and I recognized the long stamp you used on the pink tag because I own it. It’s from the company Aall & Create (based in the UK) and it’s stamp #29 designed by Bipasha BK. This company has over 1,000 stamps in their line now so this was a very early design but it’s fabulous. I own so many of their stamps and stencils…love them. Your velum was cool too. I use Bearly Arts glue to adhere velum because it doesn’t show once dry..it’s very similar to Art Glitter Glue in drying time and thickness. I’m still learning myself on the sprays but I recently got some of the mica stain sprays and oh my how gorgeous they shine. Beware of the blues and silvers though because they clog very easily. I’m off to watch your next video…thanks so much for sharing.
Hi Belinda, that long stamp is beautiful. It’s my first time using it. I’ll have to check out their other stamps and stencils. I’d love to get more. Thanks for the tip with the glue. I might have to get a bottle too. I have a few bottles of the mica stain sprays too. I haven’t used them yet. I’ll have to play with them next. Thanks for watching Belinda
I have a set of circle stamps that look a lot like yours, I’m pretty sure they came from Amazon. Love the tags 💖
Hi Belinda, thanks so much for watching
@@SunsetCrafts I had a look on Amazon and the ones I bought were coffee stains by Globeland.
Thanks Belinda, I didn’t link that one because I didn’t use it on my project. But thank you so much for checking. :) You’re so sweet
Hi Maggie! I love that stamp that looks like crackle! I could watch you create for hours. Do you prefer the scorched timber INK or OXIDE? I know there was quite a color difference when you showed them on your haul. 🌻
Hi Karen, you are so sweet. I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos. So far I like the INK only because it’s darker. :)
Thanks for watching Karen!
You need a velum glue for the velum!
I didn’t even know that existed. Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to look for that. Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching Joanne
Love that you stepped out of your comfort zone and used the ink sprays. However, you do need to speak up, sometimes I find that you are difficult to hear. Keep up the creative ideas. I am enjoying all the inspiration!
Hi Linda, it was fun to play with the sprays. I’m still learning, but it’s a start. I’m sorry for not speaking louder. Sometimes I forget. I’ll try in future videos. Thanks for watching.
Love them all, what kind of paper did you use? TFS
Hi Christine, if I remember correctly it’s 80lb paper that I bought from Hobby Lobby. It says heavy cardstock on the pack. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching Christine
Don't shake up and down shake them side to side.. Tim Holtz let's us all know that in his videos ❤
Thanks for the tip Samantha.
Loving this idea! Is there anything special you do to keep the sprayers from clogging?
Janice... after using turn the bottle upside down and spray till just air comes out.
Thanks for the tip Daniel!
Love these as usual. I can’t find the link for the key stickers you used on the last tag. Do you know where they came from.
Hi Christy. They are a part of the Shabby Notes Sets.

Thanks for watching Regina
I love your videos. I am trying to figure out what kind of glue you use but cant get a good look at the label. Could you tell me what it is? Thanks
Hi Diane, glad you enjoyed it. I always try to list all the supplies I use in the description of my videos for those interested. The glue is called Art Glitter Glue. Here is the link:

I hope this helps. Thanks for watching Diane
What is the tool that you use at the top of the tag?
Hi Dana, do you mean the hole punch? It’s called a Slot Punch. Here’s a link in case you’re interested: amzn.to/3P2ouYW
I hope that helps. Thanks for watching
A lot of my subscriptions to the various channels keep getting dropped. This is one of them. I just resubscribed again. Has there been some sort of you tube glitches or something? Just wondering if anyone else has been having these issues.
Hi Jaquline, I’m sorry that happened to you. I haven’t heard of anything going on on TH-cam. That’s weird. But glad you’re back. Thanks for watching
