Loving these videos, feels like I'm on the journey with you. Sitting here sore from a day at the skate park myself haha. Working up to conquering my own fear of dropping in. I'm not ready yet, but maybe in a few weeks. Cheers, can't wait for the next video!
@@Steves_SkateXplosion Yesterday I was using other ramps at the park to build up speed and roll up the quarters. I can almost reach the coping, been working on doing kick turns at the top and rolling back down fakie to build up my balance and some confidence. The smallest quarter I've found so far locally is 3ft. I think after a couple more weeks of working on my pumping I'll be able to reach the coping and work on rock to fakies and that'll prepare me enough to try dropping in for real, but for now I'm not ready mentally haha.
Winter is pretty tough because some days it’s wet and some days it’s unbelievably windy and it over powers my voice. Perhaps on days like that I should be doing a voiceover!? 👊
I’ve been struggling with rock to fakies for a long time (I’ve been skating for a year now and just posted a summary video on my channel). Even now, I don’t feel completely comfortable with them. I’m starting to lose faith that I’ll ever feel confident with this trick. But I know the key is to keep practicing-reps, reps, and more reps! Thanks for motivation! 👊🏻
Dude it’ll come and I think deep down you know it’s just more reps until it magically clicks one day. I mentioned it was probably 1000 drop ins before I felt like I truly owned it. 😀

@@Steves_SkateXplosion the first 3 months was the hardest for me. There were days that I wanted to just toss my board and not look back, but I kept at it. And now I’m sucked in. Those 50-50 grinds are looking really nice! Great job! I get coping fear... there is something about wanting to do tricks on the coping but actually getting up there with confidence is so difficult because it feels different. And you can get hooked up... By the way, I LOVE the flightdecks but they are a bit expensive. The last two years I've been buying Santa Cruz VX boards on sale instead. They are about the same thing as a flightdeck. Thinner, stronger, more expensive, but definitely a bit cheaper than flightdecks. I can't break these boards!
Those quarters are steep and fast. I like to atleast have an option for milder more mellow transition. The two parks in my area don't offer that. And yes the heat and HUMIDITY is ghastly right now. Anxiously awaiting fall. 🤘💪stay at it homie, your up there man
Finding mild transition around here is tough but I do have the one park where the 5 foot is very mild. So I’m thinking rock to fakie on that thing next time. 👊
That question is the very question I used to ask myself. And the answer is it’s mostly your will to swoop up to the coping. Jump or swoop up whatever word you like but it’s up to you to get up there without needing a lot of speed. 👊😀
