Chef in The Menu made an OK style cheeseburger for Anya Taylor Joy. Though he held back on the onion and put on T&O ( don’t know about the mustard, but that burger saved her life.)

Tucker's is good, but Sid's is better. There used to be three Onion Burger joints in El Reno. Don't know if they all survived the lockdowns. All three were really good. You should have come during the Onion Burger festival.

I've been eating sweet onion cowboy burgers for years and years. They are my favorite. If I don't make my own I still get them at the grocery store. Your bun needs to be buttered and grilled though. Otherwise, it's blatant disrespect to the burger itself! 😁😋

Some people put alot of onions in their meatloaf and what it's sliced you get an oniony type sandwich. Meatloaf was another classic, old timey way to stretch meat when it was expensive or short in supply.

The trick to eating fully loaded burgers is to eat them top side down. The top bun is thicker and actually built to absorb the juices as they try to escape the bite.

I totally agree that "less" is more with toppings to not interfere with the stars of the entree. I think it was Burger King that started the trend of lettuce and tomato on a burger. To each his own, but glad I broke that habit years ago. My burgers are no longer have ingredients atop that quite frankly, make it cold.

I’ve never tried an onion burger, but I’ve seen them on TikTok and want to buy a Blackstone just to make one. They look amazing! Also, Oklahoma people are SO nice. might I suggest a trip to New Mexico for a green chile burger test? You’ll never want anything else on your burger afterward. Also, I’m with you when it comes to lettuce and tomato on my burger. If I want that, I’ll just order a salad. 😂 Great reaction!

Make sure to try some Bluebell ice cream while you're in this part of the country. The Jollys tried Butter Pecan,my Texas aunt's all time favorite. Also try to get some good onion rings and jalapeno poppers. Also if you haven't tried it try a catfish joint and have fried catfish and hushpuppies with a side of coleslaw, which is also a grease cutter.Or just see if they have pickles.I think I liked the look of Sid's best with those fries.

I was in England, in the 80's, and ate in a 16th century pub in a small village. I asked for a traditional English dish and was served "Bubble and Squeek" which was a soup of greens and veg in (I think) a chicken stock. It wasn't great but gave an approximation of my general feeling of English food, bland and flavorless. No wonder the English eat so much foreign dishes.

unpopular opinion: Nics Grill is better than Sids. Idk why but I loved Nics and thought Sids was mid. I dont want to blame it on the kids making the food at Sids but the set up was almost the exact same: super small and not open all day. I suggest Nics next time you are up here. It is also cash only I believe. I have not tried Roberts tho yet.

@@dustinfuller1596 I would have to see the reports myself. Because I have worked in the food industry before. Restaurants have been closed down because they have potholes in the parking lot. Older buildings can be shut down just because they don't have the right sinks in the kitchen. Sewage pipe can shut a building down. Also seen where restaurants got on the bad side of the health department, so they just made up crap. But it all shows as being a health department shutdown. But that being said, if it had something to do with food he needed to be shut down! Me being 65 years old Texan, remember that I used to sell tamales on the side of the road, and other types of food! That never had a problem with anything. But the government come up with a another way to control things to make more money. If you would ever go through a health program, you would see some of the stupid things they do. But this is just my opinion! And always there will be somebody that bends the rules that needs to be controlled. Or that being said being the controller! And as far as Roberts place, I have not been there in 40 plus years. I'm not talking about that place at all, cuz I don't know about it!

Juicy Lucy in Minneapolis. A burger stuffed with melted cheese. Also you really need to try the original of originals. Louis’ lunch in New Haven Connecticut. It’s literally the origin of the burger. Two pieces of toast and burger patty cooked to perfection, just a tomato and a slice of grilled onion on top. The place actively discourages you from putting anything else on it. The owner of the place was actually offered two million to sell to Macdonald’s which the Macdonald’s reps were quite literally booted out the door. The lunch spot has stayed in New Haven since the 1900s and will stay in that spot.
