I remember watching this movie when it came out. They did a fantastic job, every scene looked so well done. Add a film tone to the video and it would look like it was shot like an 80's movie.
I was lucky enough to get a subbed version dvd of this movie (remember bootleg quality subtitles) from a small store inside a 99 Ranch Market right around when it came out. And I cannot even begin to describe the joy I felt when the Haruhi Suzumiya anime paid homage to that auditorium scene!

wow, this movie has a 80-90's style color and atmosphere, it almost looks like it's from the showa era, I didn't see anyone who had a cell phone so it's been around for a long time, GREAT IMAGES, I want to see this movie because it captures exactly the student environment of a bygone era that was so important for Japan, and because it reminds me of my student days, thank you for showing this movie that I didn't know about, greetings 😉
I searched for the DVD for a long time because I'm such a Doona Bae fan. And once I found it I fell in love with the movie, it really moved me and even watching your images bring back that feeling. And of course, Doona Bae as a korean student a bit lost in that new (for her) japanese universe and becoming the singer by total accident is perfect once again.
I'm so happy I could bring back the joy of the movie for you! I also chose to make this video for similar reasons, I just wanted to capture my love for the movie. This movie also made me a Doona Bae fan, I tried sneaking in as many scenes of her as I could, hehe, she plays the tenacious fish-out-of-water character in such a charming fashion.

@@carloko08 The show in Shibuya - Tokyo was very good, but I was a bit sad and surprised because MOTFG was only a supporting band for other newer artists, and the concert venue was small for such a great band. Now that they are touring in North America, I hope there will be changes or increased promotion from the band’s management. This band (MOTFG) truly deserves to have a large fanbase and perform in bigger concert venues.
This was one of my favourite films from that era. The cast was great and the soundtrack is equally good. Also, BBB's Shiori Sekine is the bassist of the band.

An official dvd came from Viz way back in 2007 but it's long since out of print.
The girl playing the bass in this work is also the bassist for a group called Base Ball Bear and is still active with them.
