I got my CDL in 1997, and I drove professionally for 25 years before I had to get out of the truck. I was a single mother and needed to be able to give my two daughters a better life. I operated doubles for most of my career
I am a 79 year old man who only drove for four years and I loved it. Stopped 3 years ago due to physical restraints. Recently wanted to drive again but now that I have a pacemaker the feds would not allow it. I believe women drivers to be a fantastic addition to the trucking industry. If there was some way for me to get back in the truck I would jump at it.
Lot of women like me drive trucks! The most popular truck women drive are school buses! That’s because as women we have a motherly instinct but we can also like trucks, school buses combine best of both worlds! I drive box trucks and farm tractors as well.
Female truck drivers ! No complaints from me . Local delivers & city traffic , loading & unloading maybe a very different story . People in general must realise that there a lot of hoops to jump through before they will achieve the ability to gain a licence for just a single trailer ! Then you have a 'B' double before get to ROAD TRAINS . Which I doubt many will achieve . REASONS : Securing their loads , Changing damaged tyres, loading & unloading , lifting & installing gates , tyre pressures down & up . Bonneted prime movers (?) + roo bars , will they be able to check whatever may need checking ? It all looks good using overseas film clips , nice & shining truck . Its like a MAKE UP / HAIR DRESSIN SHOP . I agree that they should get out & give it a real good go with GOVERNMENT payments for training for ridged trucks [ NO PRIME MOVER PAID TRAINING ] Learn on the job . Not many years back drivers had in many cases ' OFFSIDERS ' who helped with loading & off loading . Securing loads , cleaning the trucks . That is where any new starter should be . START FROM THE BOTTOM & WORK YOU WAY UP ! This country needs many more truckies , BUT not BARBIE _ BIMBOSE who will be a distraction to other hard working drivers . Best regards , HIWAYHOBO.
Sorry to rain in your paraide but $60k a year is a midnight summer dream here in Greece. Most company drivers get less than $20k a year, with 90% of that going to bills and taxes. This video is showing a rosy picture about trucking, which is very VERY far from reality.
Kind of interesting why men young men are not interested in doing this job love your videos
Immigrants are taking all the jobs

Stealing jobs from men.
I wasn't just the first female driver in my family, but the first truck driver in my family.

60,000 annually? I was making three figures when I had to stop because of back issues in 2021. I would have laughed at 60,000
