  • Hello Everyone!
    Good Day!
    Welcome you to this channel created especially for travel videos.
    Thank you so much for giving your valuable time to watch this beautiful traveling video of Island Peak Climb (one of the famous Trekking Peaks in Nepal)
    The Island Peak Climb!!!!
    Island peak (Imja Tse) - 6189M is Located in the Everest region between Chukung glacier and Mount Ama Dablam. Island Peak is One of the most popular trekking Peak climbing in Nepal. Eric Shipton (a British Mountaineer) 1951 named Island Peak as it seems like an Island in the Sea of ICE seen from Dingboche. This Peak is also called Imja Tes but Island peak is widely famous.
    How difficult is it to climb?
    Island Peak is famous for those climbers willing to enter the mountaineering world, which means it is suitable for beginner and intermediate climbers and advanced-level climbers. It is not considered a technically difficult Peak to climb. It doesn’t require any Oxygen cylinder to carry. If you are preparing with proper mountaineering gear and fixed rope then you are good to go. But the most important thing is your mental preparation, if you haven’t presented yourself with a strong mindset then you might find it more difficult than you think.

    Excellent video. I did EBC in December 2019 and scheduled for Island Peak in November 2023. How were you able to maintain battery charge for that much time and cold temperatures? Solar panel, battery bank? Also, what camera recorded that outstanding footage? Thanks again for sharing your well documented adventure!

      @@travelari i'm going to do Imja Tse and Lobuche east, my friend. I'm looking at the cheapest way to do two peaks climbs, most likely meeting the agency in the base camp because I don''t need a big 14-day package; I will walk two of the passes to acclimatise and then push for summits. Can you recommend any agencies that might do these itineraries?

      Regarding your queries of Island peak and Lobuche peak here's the Answer.
      as you know both are trekking peaks with similar altitude of nearly 6200m but lobuche is more technical and bit rocky compare to Island peak.

      I did both. Same trip. Not really any difference. They are almost identical in every respect.
      Maybe main difference is that Lobuche East is not true summit of Lobuche.
      Route on Loubuche is easier to navigate when solo.

      @@tomk3732 Island Peak or Louche East which of the two has better summit views?

      @@silveriver9 They have very similar views and both are very similar climbs. They are also very close to each other. I feel Island peak is more popular.

  • @tomk3732
    @tomk3732 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Did Mera, Island and Lebuche solo in one trip. Island has the most confusing route. All summit pushes are rather physically not super taxing - we are talking about between 4h and 6h depending on your speed for all of them. However, doing all 3 in few weeks in addition to all the hiking starts to add up & one is getting tired towards the end.
    Neither of the 3 peaks is technical - through easiest (just walk) is Mera.
    The final wall on Island is not very steep - it looks far worse on video or in photos than in real life. The rope makes the climb a bit easier & faster.
    I say technical difficulty is higher for the pass before Island peak coming from Mera - on the whole trip that was technically hardest.
    Sherpa use little crampons for a reason - they are in many cases far better choice than actual crampons - especially on mixed terrain.

    • @silveriver9
      @silveriver9 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which one do you find the hardest of the 3? I'm considering Island Peak as Mera seems too "flat". I've trekked EBC recently, so I'm now looking to do a 6000m. Do you recommend Island Peak or Lobuche East? I currently don't have rope experience.

    • @tomk3732
      @tomk3732 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@silveriver9 Mera is indeed flat and no fixed ropes or very minimal. But is highest of the three.
      Both Island and Lobuche East are super similar - since you did EBC maybe for your next trip you need to plan a bit different route so as not to repeat.
