no you cant, you would eventually be driven mad and probably ending your own life if there was a guy talking 24/7 in your head, you wouldnt be able to sleep either
Maybe the man that understood superman better than anybody, you listen to him talk and you kinda have the impression he's talking about somebody he personally knows. Truly a master This vid should have 50 times the visits it has btw
It's honestly relieving knowing that James Gunn is taking some inspiration from All-Star, and that he took a group photo with other great Superman artists, including Frank Quitely.
The funny part is that they did - at least, that's what they believe lol. There's this one interview that they mention they were thinking if they wanted to write Superman and were kinda intimidated by it. But they and Mark Waid met "Superman", sitting in a rock, leaning on his leg with a smile on his face. They says that image surprised them because they always thought Superman was a walking statue of a man, but he was so relatable in that moment. They goes on how they asked him about humanity, about Lois, Batman, etc and noted everything down and eventually wrote All-Star Superman. Probably was a cosplayer who was really good at maintaining a character, but considering it was Grant Morrison, might as well be a Dimension Traveling Superman as far as we know lol.
This was wonderfully put together, my friend. Superman was, is, and always will be the greatest superhero for how much of his ethos is found in every home on this tiny blue dot. No matter how cynical, craven, or cruel any one of us can be, there can always be found the capacity to be evermore idealistic, valiant, and kind. The potential to one day fly and become a Superman.
I can agree he probably agreed more with the government after his initial phase, but he wasn’t all of a sudden against the oppressed? You can be a patriot and still fight for the little guy, hell that’s kind of what being a patriot entails
Not as such? It’s a different area of focus. It’s that difference between “Truth and justice” and “Truth, justice, and the American way”. A patriot favors his government, his country. He may strive for the ideals they espouse, but he’s inexorably linked to those ideals and that worldview. But Superman in the late 30’s and 40’s often fought cops and congressmen, something that would definitely be construed as unpatriotic and yet, was the right thing to do. The just thing to do. Like Captain America is a Patriotic character, obviously. His patriotism has been tested and subsequently abandoned when he felt his country had lost its way. He always returned to that role eventually though. But Superman from his very inception has always been at odds with what was perceived to be a broken world. And he wasn’t an arbiter of our laws as such. He was something more like a force of nature or something from the Old Testament, swift and judicious. He softened after those early years, but that early framework stuck. There’s a reason that when Frank Miller wrote Superman, he made him an agent of Ronald Reagan, because he did perceive him through that purely patriotic lens. But it’s kind of a mistake to see him in only that way, he’s so much more than that. Superman isn’t a patriot because that implies he’s linked to one thing. But Superman, particularly how Grant Morrison writes him, is the link to everything and everyone. A link that will lift us above any one country or government.
Superman is the worst fictional character ever created. Been around for close to a hundred years and he's still just two dimensional propaganda. He's got no real personality and no humanity at all.
@@Parker_Luck394 I haven't read much about him but I have read a bunch of his comics without ever being impressed by any of them. American comics absolutely suck and they always have. In Japan the mangaka retain partial ownership of their works but American writers and artists are just employees punching a time clock. Japanese mangaka profit when they come up with good manga. No matter how well the title does in America, the author just gets the same wage. When an American author creates a character, they get none of the movie rights, no residuals, none of the toy sales. . .nothing. They have no ownership and they just do short stints on different titles to get paid, not because they are bursting with inspiration. Their work is uninspired, repetitive and boring. And this isn't even considering the full woke direction US comics have gone in. Japan is absolutely destroying the American industry and no one in the american industry has realized that they have to evolve and change their business models if they want to be competitive again. One Japanese manga last year sold more copies than the entire american industry combined (demon slayer). Superman has been around for almost 100 years and the manga one piece has sold hundreds of millions more copies than superman in under 30 years. They just keep churning out the same low quality propaganda and they will do so until the American comics industry has been completely eradicated. Instead or admitting their failures and inability to compete, they keep celebrating lukewarm retards like grant morrison.
Superman will still love you bro, if the best of all humans , superman is what we humans should try to be ,kind, being a friend ,help those who can't help themselves
@@dukeheavens9990 Exactly. I recommend anyone seeing this read “Superman Red and Blue”, from 2021. It’s an excellent anthology series all about showing superman’s kindness and compassion, and how he interacts with the world
I could hear grant talk about comics all day

What's the background music name?
It says towards the very end of the video :)
I wish I could hear the music but Grant keeps talking
All the songs are listed in the description if you want to hear them separately.
That’s the whole point of the video though?
