i havent seen this movie so i cant comment but isnt it harmonys thing that his movies feel scriptless and are more so trying to evoke feelings out of the viewer?
that's the point, you cannot evoke feelings without at least some intentional thought behind it. that is to say, aggro drift comes off as more so aimless than atmospheric or emotional
As long as we don’t have to look at Travis Scott. Hopefully stays in a mask. I’ve loved Harmony since before he was huge. But I can’t stomach looking at Travis Scott. It makes me nauseous and triggers my fight it flight. Anyone that’s BPD and narcissistic does that to me in real life. Empaths with emotional intelligence can spot people like that. I have easier time watching an entire documentary on Ted Bundy than to look at that guy for even 2 mins. Insufferable
There's no such thing as an objective movie review buddy. Reviews, are by definition subjective. Since it's the perspective and preferences of the reviewer that is being documented. However, I do agree with this review and opinion of the film here.
Bro, explain the movie. I just got done watching it. I’m literally driving home risking getting into an accident because I’m texting this comment. What the fuck was that movie. Other than the visuals that movie was terrible and that was the worst dialogue I’ve ever heard in a movie in a long ass time. “ Great killer. I am a great killer. I am a great killer. I am a great killer.” Oh yeah, great dialogue pffffff
there isn't anything to understand about it the movie says what it has to say in the most blatant way possible. if anything it's the lack of depth that's the issue here. it's either a really dumb commentary or a parody blown out of proportion (or both)
U mention how he doesn’t see this film as an actual movie, so why are u disappointed that it lacks the features of a conventional film (story line, empty character ect). You shouldn’t judge it as though it was a conventional film. As Harmony said, ‘its more of an experience’. So just judge your experience of the film
you don’t understand that the lack of script and narrative IS the script? Korine’s movies always have been controversial and critical but understand it is more of a atmosphere than a movie. The reason that he made it so to be critisized.
But your movie can’t be something that’s whole purpose is to raise a question. You still have to like what you’re watching. If you don’t like what you’re watching you’re not gonna think oh what was the point of that movie you’re gonna remember that you don’t like the fucking movie.
We're having ourselves a Kanye West vs Justice situation here. Kanye West's million dollar music video starring a celebrity lost to one with no budget at all. Harmony Korine's newest million dollar production with a run time of more than an hour featuring a celebrity lost to a 1 minute video with no budget at all.
I love pretty much all of harmony korines film but ye this was trash, i get the whole shallow empty vaporous concept and vibe but his other films have always done it with an artistic nuance that invites way more depth than this, it just meanders and ends with no real memorable or exciting moments
Just came from the second trailer, which ends with a line that sounded weirdly phoned in, kinda took me out of the whole experience the rest of the trailer was building. I haven't seen it but this review seemed fair. Hoping it's better than I expect.

He says all that in the first few seconds :)

Sounds like another harmony korine masterpiece to me lol.

@@marsoblivi0n945 You should consider working for a movie theater. You’re a great projector!

OUCH! I have been a fan of Harmony for years and this review hurts my soul. It is objective and it cuts deep.
Did you watch it? I like Harmony’s stuff too. But he mailed it in on this one. Seems like an inside joke.
@@marksminutemoviereviews1 I have not seen it. Although i have heard mixed reviews about it.

@@JustChadC Would you classify it is as "Cringe"? You know those films or videos that make you make faces in disgust.
Everything you said makes me excited to see it. Harmony rules.
i loved every second and it could have been 3 hours and I'd still rate it 10/10
So it’s modern Belly then?
Is it a waste or did you get trolled and not understand it

@@sandordayala Haven’t seen it, but I’d MUCH rather watch a Lars Von Trier movie than a HK movie tbf.
i've only seen 2 trailers but totally agree with you man
Quote and love Gummo. Still trying to figure out that movie
It’s just some dudes that sell cat meat for glue. And those girls cat went missing cause that guy that bathes his grandma probably killed their cat.
