  • In an effort to thank our troops returning from World War II, America passes the Servicemen's Readjustment Act, better known as the G.I. Bill of Rights. This act provides all veterans with certain benefits designed to help them re-enter civilian life. The bill pays for college education or trade school education. Low interest home loans loans allow veterans to become homeowners. Low interest business loans allows veterans to start their own businesses, create jobs and hire new employees, and stimulates the economy. The bill also creates Veterans Hospitals, in which veterans can find the medical services they need throughout life. The G.I. Bill of Rights was transformational, not only in the lives of veterans of WWII, but also for the U.S. society and economy.
