hi i spent a while editing this one, so let me know what you think of the vid lol. Next vid will probably be something shorter, then uhhh i dunno honestly

Really loved the vid, I love conversations about Nintendo's horrible practices and how they can be fixed. Though the topic alone makes me frustrated so maybe not as much

I understand the idea that goes into the way they’ve been doing this, player retention is likely to stay if content is added in chunks, but
    1. There already wasn’t a problem with player retention, look at games like Mario Kart Wii, Mario Sports Mix, Splatoon 1/2, Mario Kart DS and 7 and 8, all very thriving online games for their respective gens.
    2. This ironically is causing LESS player retention because everyone gets bored one week in and doesn’t bother to come back.

New leaf Had to rush to reach the "completely debrit choice" of having the same release date as Doom

I honestly wasn't expecting anyone to still talk about this, I'm glad you brought the conversation back up because as someone who loved Animal Crossing New Leaf, I was so very disappointed with New Horizons launch content that I didn't even buy it, and with it fully finished I still didn't buy it because of all the charmed that I loved in New Leaf that wasn't there. And as a Mario fan I skipped on Tennis and Golf because they looked bland and not interesting, and with Strikers coming out I feel it will fall victim to the same thing. I really wanted to see what the hype was for Mario Strikers but with Nintendo's "fix it later" or "finish it later" approach I don't want to buy their first party games anymore and just stick to indie games, at least their games are finished at launch

I see people asking why Daisy wasn’t in the announcement trailer for Strikers and at first, I pretty much just brushed it off as “They’ll show her later”. But actually putting Super Rush into consideration, there actually feels like a very real chance that the current 10 character roster is what we’re gonna start with and Nintendo might actually decide to hold off on adding key characters to the game as a way to “continue supporting the game after release”. There’s still two and a half months to go so I could and I honestly hope I’m dead wrong. But if that’s really the direction Nintendo’s gonna bring this strategy of their’s to, then I’d honestly go into debate whether I should get the game at all, let alone wait for there to be more content added.

@@boydixonentertainment I'm not worried about it. Both Super Rush and Aces were developed by Camelot Games. While Strikers Charged is going to be developed by Next Level Games. The people behind the original two Mario Strikers games and Luigi's Mansion 3!

When I got kirby star allies I 100% the game and beat all the 3xtra modes so I returned it since the store has a 7 say return policy, then all this extra dlcs gets added and I to this day haven't been able to play it

"But it's free why are people complaining about nintendo giving you free content"
This is the one argument I cannot stand for the life of me
There is a difference between a company giving you a free item and a company being lazy af
Sure while I'm glad they're at least updating it to make sure it can keep going, the issue lies in what's the point in these updates if the games is already dead
Games such as Mario Tennis and Arms could've lasted alot longer If it had all the content at rhe start
But no, because of these "free updates" those games ended up dieing really really fast
And the fact nintendo fans still keep praising nintendo acting like there a God because nintendo is too damn lazy to finish a game and would rather later update is just ridiculous

I’m glad someone else is concerned about Strikers league, the game comes out in about two months, we haven’t seen any new info since the direct and seeing how Nintendo botched the previous sports games… yep thats alarming.
Yes I know that NLG is working on it, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed

Im sorry but did you just call mario strikers battle league a cheap copy of the first ones. Its the mario strikers gameplay we know and live what do you want them to do rework all the mechanics because at that point it wont even be mario strikers anymore.

    • @Wyrlwind
      @Wyrlwind  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I probably could have worded that better. What I was talking about was how so many people were getting super hyped up for the game just because of brand recognition. It looks mediocre at best. I'd be glad to be wrong but Mario Sports games haven't been great on the switch so far.

@@Wyrlwind so the gameplay from the other games are mediocre too that’s what your saying.

@Wyrwind game not very good but it’s not because of gameplay. You do realize what you just said can be applied to any game and not just strikers.

    • @Wyrlwind

@@lightninja4795 what even is this strawman argument lol. you're allowed to think a game's gameplay looks mediocre regardless of how much people hype up it's announcement.
