@@kyles6813 The good thing is that Dimmu doesn't need to overdo it with all the lamb heads and all, to get their music and their amazing stage presence to the fans! They're all good bands in their own way, but damn this performance I wouldve loved to see it!

Galder made this possible. Dimmu was firing on all cylinders without him, but he his a great, great composer. Without his skills and writing, you don’t get this album or this song, which is arguably Dimmu’s best song ever.
+Devin Yea from OUR perspective, it wasn't the best. And they've been dealing with that from fans for years now. But they are all very smart, reasonable dudes. So I have to remind myself that in order for them to let two very important members of the band go, it must have been a long running issue. That would be the only reasonable way to let such powerful people go. It's easy to forget that we only see about 5 percent of what really goes on. We hear records and we see shows. That's it. But I've been in some totally nameless bands just playing shows in dive bars. Even that can create some unbelievable contrasts between personalities. I can't imagine how much that is amplified when you're living in a bus, doing it as a job, and playing in front of thousands every night.
"Sanity drained in disrespect" is very poetic, these guys are so damn good between brutality but very very cheeky lines like that. Not to mention the delivery! Ooops, here again
@billhyman330 This session is better than the album. Lots of improv with the guitars and Vortex is phenomenal here. Listen at 3:05 how Silenoz drops down with that slick slide. That isnt in the album 😉
4:18-5:57: It's amazing how incredibly beautiful and moving this section is. How can something like this come from a band like Dimmu Borgir? It's magical.

Like a lot of people, this was my introduction to the band. I walked away a fan that day (as I'm sure a lot of other people did, too). That Ozzfest was special. Classic reunited lineup of Priest, original lineup of Slayer, original Sabbath to top it off. It was like Woodstock for metalheads. The fact that Dimmu managed to shine through all of that is truly amazing.

Not so much heavy. It's the orchestral black metal aspect that the masses didn't grasp. You're right in how they were able to dial it down for the uncultured. Enthrone would have never been an option.
