That one trumpet player headbanging the whole time is my favorite thing about this video tbh. You don’t have to look metal or give off a metal vibe to be metal as hell
Hell Yeah I love that Trombone guy! He's the real deal. He appreciates the band and it totally shows in his performance pure and clear and honest. Kudos that that guy!!! He is totally Cobra Kai Material and knows how to sweep the leg! A+++++
I always forget about Dimmu for some stupid reason, and every time I hear them I always think why I don't listen to them more often. This song is a perfect example of Dimmu's excellence, blending black, symphonic and melodies so well. Fucking love DImmu!!!
reborningreed I know I don't listen to much metal at all more of a rock fan but every time I come back to these guys I discover more stuff truly a great band.
Damn it, I’ve made a mistake of watching this video. Before going to bed. Now I can’t stop watching their whole concert over and over again for 3 hours straight, send help
They have combined their metal with a full orchestra and choir is phenomenal! I’ve been listening to them for years and years and years, but now they have taking it to a whole Nother level. Metal inquire and orchestra. What a fabulous combination. I love this group.❤️❤️❤️
Im obsessed with the trombone player, just kind of figured out how to verbalise why ,bear with me, I think his face and his headbanging and everything else is an embodiment of what most of us on this thread feel about music and where it takes us, it's absolute pure joy and it's uninhibited expressions of that joy , he's let the music wash away everything else and he's just seriously rocking out. This is how I want my life to always be. Rip Nolan . My brother passed away in 2019 and was much like this guy, he okayed ,,7 musical instruments and sang . He was insanely animated when he conducted and his voice in the choir would lift to the ceiling and settle down on you and you'd feel the passion for music . Love you nols. Stop telling everyone what to do in the afterlife .
I don’t care if I’ve said it before.... this is the absolute best version of mourning palace I’ve ever heard in my life, I’m 36 and I’ve been listening to this song since I was in high school. This performance is amazing, gaulder, what a beast, I don’t know the name of that keyboardist but he’s just as big a beast, especially during the solo/breakdown/bridge, whatever that climax part is called, and you all know what I mean, this performance was just epic
0:31 That killing growl is the real identity of Black Metal, An awesome performance of each and every musician on the stage.............eternal is my love for Dimmu Borgir.
What I love most of all about this clip is that even the orchestra is wearing their own version of corpse face paint. Normally you could NEVER make classical musicians agree to something like that but for the might of Dimmu Borgir even they had to buckle. Awesome.
I can swear that there were several fans of the band in the orchestra. Great band, reminds me of my youth. Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Cradle of Filth, Satyricon, Isengard and Impaled Nazarene and many more 🔥⛪️🔥🕌🔥🛕🔥🕍🔥
Dunno, to me Dimmu Borgir always looked like such a crazy good band. No albums that i find bad, not in the first period, not nowdays. Always perfect live performances. They look like nice guys in interviews and everything. They play really good music in general.

I've watch so many metal concerts on youtube where 90% either shortens the note or simply skips notes from running out of breath or singing some parts without screaming. How can this guy keep this up for a whole concert? He sounds better than the studio wtf

How fucking epic is that?! I remember seeing them headline Wacken back in early 2000 with ICS Vortex and Nick Barker. Kings of The Carnival Creation! - Goosebumps
Mourning Palace was the first Dimmu Borgir song I ever heard, that was about fifteen years ago I think, still my favorite, I may appear strange but I find it so incredibly beautiful. It would have been such an honor to play in the orchestra alongside Dimmu :3
This a perfect example of why many metal heads are huge fanatics of classical instrumental music. The level of musicianship, arrangements, instrumentation etc are very similar in both genres.
I love the song!!! I respect Dimmu Borgir a lot because they're able to create mesmerizing and consistent songs, they are heavy, catchy, epic and beautiful at the same time!!! I'm personally more into this style of metal.
Shawn Jones I'm Mexican and I've been listening to Dimmu Borgir for years, since I was a teenager! I'm not a fan though but I truly enjoy their music. Even after all these years. still loving the Trombone guy. He can always say "I played at Waken. How about you?"
Could tell he was absolutely stoked! Rare for him to play in this style of music to such a massive and active crowd
I love it

Dimmu Borgir definitely give their fans a show worth their money. Amazing live performers my goodness
It's not really possible to overstate how good they are live. They obviously rehearse like crazy and absolutely love what they are doing.
I seen them a few times myself.
I saw them in Toronto maybe 10 years ago and sadly they phoned it in. They are way better here
I saw them in 2011 in Dublin. It was amazing, one of the best concert I ve ever been
I love cradle of filth but always disappointed by their live show. But atleast I got dimmu banging.

Blackhearted angels fallen from grace
Possessed by the search for utter darkness
Hear the cries from the Mourning Palace
Feel the gloom of restless spirits
Hear the screams from the Mourning Palace
Feel the doom of haunting chants
Eternal is their lives in misery
Eternal is their lives in grief
Abandoned in a void of nothingness
A chain of anger, a fetter of despair
In this garden of depraved beings
This unsacred place of helpless ones
Satan blessed the creatures
Inswathed them in endless night
Whispering voices, summoning screams
Waiting for Satan to bless their sins

Possessed by the search for utter darkness
