@@MillsRepDom Yes! I've been looking in to options concerning my phone plan but I'm not sure what to do for banking. Did you open a separate bank account in the DR? Is it a lengthy process?
maddie traub the school helped me open an account at popular. I think it can be a little complicated otherwise but deff possible! May not be necessary considering though, because you can use atms and stuff with your american cards. For the phone i brought my iPhone and had an international plan with sprint. If yours is unlocked you can use claro for a pretty cheap monthly price for data! Mine i had free texting and data, calls cost money but everyone uses wifi there, or you can use FT audio calls which is data too!
Hi, we would be interested in the Honda Passport but it wouldn't be for another several months. Can you talk about how to buy a car in the DR and how to avoid getting scammed? Also, what are the proper steps to get your tags etc?
thank you! and yes! definitely need to be careful. make sure you get the original title to the car and have a local negotiate for you, as well as a mechanic check the car out. there is an office right here in santiago to update the tags which is pretty easy!
Hey! Can I ask you how many times you’ve left DR and came back? And how long you overstayed each time? I am also from the US, I overstayed once, now I’m back, and I plan on being here for a longer period of time with my Dominican boyfriend. At minimum, 1 year. I’m trying to figure out if overstaying again will hurt my chances of obtaining residency in the future. Let me know if you’ve got any input on this-thanks!
Amber N hi! i never overstated a full year, i think 6 months was the longest before i had to take a trip home. but i have overstayed like 10 times with no issues. i’m not positive it won’t affect residency but i am pretty sure. santiago is more relaxed with multiple overstays than the santo domingo airport. i never had a problem though!
Hey Mills great video. What do you think about me having to hire a Dominican nanny to care for my child , being a expat . . How would I make that happen? What the normal pay per hour there. I would assume paying a nanny $10-$15 US dollar an hour would be a lot of money for them. Right
hi! you definitely can do that. just make sure it’s someone trustworthy. what area are you in? i have someone great! 10-15 an hour is a lot! 10 i think would be fantastic.
Hi! It’s still an issue, little worried it’s going to get worse since the curfew ended and now people are out more. But you can go! Just have to wear the masks.
Very informative. My passport expires in October 2020. I'm booked for travel from 8/2-8/9/2020. Will they give me entry because I'm not able to get expedited passport unless it's life/death situation due to pandemic
hey rick! thanks for watching. i work remotely for US based clients. i specialize in social media and marketing, so they contract me to manage their profiles and campaigns. it works well getting paid in dollars here.
im on a veteran pension and would like to move there for a year. How long is the process to move and how much was it to move any of your things from the US to Dr?
Not a long process if you aren’t getting residency! You can use a shipping company to ship flat rate regardless of weight which is great. I just brought a couple Suitcases.
By Me when you leave you need to pay if you overstayed there 30 day visitor visa. The payment is based on how long you overstayed. But if it’s under 30 days you shouldn’t need to pay anything.
Mills I’ve been there 4 times in a year and 7 months I stay 2 weeks at a time and everyone has to pay a tax of $20.00 before they even check their luggage in. Every time I went it was the same thing. They also do it in Mexico
Mills it’s called a departure tax. It’s all airports in the DR. Very strange you have not had to pay. Maybe they include it in the over stay fee so you never noticed.
Girl, I think you should get your residency. The sooner the better. You might be able to do the paperwork yourself depending on how good you are in Spanish now. When you get back to the states, visit the Dominican consulate in New York City for more details. You can Google them to get their address and phone number.
thanks for watching! let me know if you have any questions or want to share your own experience 💕

Maddy Val no problem! Hmm I don’t think so? But it may be worth a call to a tax pro! Luckily I didn’t have to pay DR tax
im Australian and have wanted to leave Australia for a better place to live, but cant. Can you help Mills
Hi why can’t you!
@@MillsRepDom lprimonlegal@gmail. I have had issues due to age
Hello, I am from india. I want to travel to Dominican Republic, it is possible for Indian passport holder.??
Hi, Nice vid you deserve way more Subs
You're Beautiful
aw thank you!🙏🏼
I'm moving there from the U.S. in September (corona willing). I won't be working for the first few months and when I do, it will probably be remotely. Do you know what the best way to go about phone/bank stuff would be?
Awesome!! Do you mean setting up your phone and banking?!
@@MillsRepDom Thanks so much!
Can you relocate your vehicle or buy property there?
yes you can!! your car needs to be i think 2016 or newer
How is the medical field there?
What happens if your visiting for only a week
that’s fine! the visa is included in your plane ticket now so you don’t have to do anything.
Maannnn she is gorgeous, her man is one blessed guy for sure 😍
Aww thank you!
@@MillsRepDom Of course you are very welcome,I am actually thinking about doing the same as ypu
Hi, we would be interested in the Honda Passport but it wouldn't be for another several months. Can you talk about how to buy a car in the DR and how to avoid getting scammed? Also, what are the proper steps to get your tags etc?
Girl you are glowing your make up is on fleek S.E.X.Y😍
thank you! and yes! definitely need to be careful. make sure you get the original title to the car and have a local negotiate for you, as well as a mechanic check the car out. there is an office right here in santiago to update the tags which is pretty easy!
Great video!!!!!!! You were spot on!
thank you! 🙌🏼
Mills Around thanks! :)
Just keep paying your over stay fees
Hey! I have a question but i will like to ask you in prívate. Where can i contact you plz & thank you.
Hi! You can message me on Instagram at @rebeccamillsss or email me at mills1019@gmail.com
@@MillsRepDom I heard the minimum salary in DR is $200.00 to $300.00 (U.S. currency) per month.
How to get the visa for missionary visa?
What jobs foreigners can do?
Huge question ❤️ Did the school require a college degree?
they did.. but a few teachers didn’t have one so it’s a little flexible hahah.
where did you get your car from? The U.S. or D.R.?
Mills excellent video as always
thank you!🙏🏼
Hi, me and my husband want to come and stay for a month. I was wondering how the corona situation is there?
Hi! It’s still an issue, little worried it’s going to get worse since the curfew ended and now people are out more. But you can go! Just have to wear the masks.
You look so beautiful ..like always but this videos as much needed
aww thank you!
Very informative. My passport expires in October 2020. I'm booked for travel from 8/2-8/9/2020. Will they give me entry because I'm not able to get expedited passport unless it's life/death situation due to pandemic
Yes you should be fine!!
Hello Mills Rick from Colorado here. May I ask what exactly you do to make money on line? Thank you.
hey rick! thanks for watching. i work remotely for US based clients. i specialize in social media and marketing, so they contract me to manage their profiles and campaigns. it works well getting paid in dollars here.
Hey, lil tip, we just say DR. Not "THE" DR, but it does sound nice and respectful, like we're of great importance or something lol.
hahaha true you’re right. i think of the entire word when i use say “DR” also it is of great importance 😂
im on a veteran pension and would like to move there for a year. How long is the process to move and how much was it to move any of your things from the US to Dr?
Not a long process if you aren’t getting residency! You can use a shipping company to ship flat rate regardless of weight which is great. I just brought a couple
Suitcases.
They still ask for 20$ American when you leave “tax” what is that all about ?
By Me when you leave you need to pay if you overstayed there 30 day visitor visa. The payment is based on how long you overstayed. But if it’s under 30 days you shouldn’t need to pay anything.
Mills I’ve been there 4 times in a year and 7 months I stay 2 weeks at a time and everyone has to pay a tax of $20.00 before they even check their luggage in. Every time I went it was the same thing. They also do it in Mexico
Mills even this one guy argued with them over it.
By Me hmm I might be blanking but I’m
Pretty sure that’s never happened to me, but I fly out of santiago all the time!
Mills you have an email to reach out to you?
Hey!
I am interested in living there. Can you help me out?
For sure shoot me a message on @rebeccamillsss
I overstays 1 year and I payed 0$ … I honestly didn’t know this and they sorta let me go 😅
Why not cross into Haiti and it resets the clock.
You can! I know people who do that as well !
I’m interested in working remotely,
