3kg for an average kitty? Really?! How's about a 16kg Maine Coon super-tabby; a cat designed to crush everythng in sight - dogs, other cats, nuts, etc. He's not overweight either - he's just a very big cat. And he doesn't fall off tables either - even when you try to push him...
Anyone thinking of buying one of these should think again. I made that mistake recently and now I'm regretting it. The Marscat they sent me couldn't connect to the app and didn't respond to voice commands. It didn't even meow. Then it started shutting down and restarting itself every 2 minutes. They also sent me a power supply that has no charge indicator lights (it's supposed to), when both the cat and the charging station also don't have charge indicators. So now I have a useless object sitting in the box it came in. Too bad, because I liked it for the brief time it worked. Elephant Robotics "warranty" consists of expecting the customer to pay the fees to ship their defective junk back to them in China. If you live in Canada or the US that means paying several hundred dollars in shipping costs. On top of that they threaten to charge the customer for parts! So you pay around $1500 USD and have to spend another $2-400 to send defective junk back for repair and then get charged for the parts. They will cover shipping it back to you, but only in the first 90 days. I also found their Kickstarter page from 2020 when they first released the Marscat. The comments section is full of irate complaints from customers whose Marscats had the same problems I'm having, along with others. So Elephant Robotics has known about these problems since 2020, and in 2023 they are still sending out the same junk which they clearly didn't bother fixing or inspecting before they shipped it out. To top it all off, I sent them an email to report the problems with the Marscat and try to arrange to get it fixed or replaced. They replied the next day asking a bunch of dumb time wasting questions and demanding videos of everything. I sent them the videos and haven't heard a thing since, 5 days later. I sent them a followup today but I'm not holding my breath.

Again they made the "software bugs" excuse and made it clear that they expect customers to wait with their $2K bricks until doomsday for a fix. Other customers on social media got the same excuse. ER has no intention of fixing anything and are happy to keep people's money instead. Elephant robotics knows perfectly well that their customers can't do anything about being robbed, we can't sue them or file consumer complaints. All we have left is to go on all of the review sites and their TH-cam videos and try to warn other customers that the Marscat is nothing but a ripoff.

My cat left the mangled head of a mouse for me this morning, funny I saw the advert for this robot today. It is absolutely adorable, but wow is it expensive! At this stage, I feel it's more like a tech demo or toy than a domestic item to drop a grand on. I feel like more work on polishing the features and the movement would be better. Especially as the advert advertised it for general folk who may want companionship, I don't think it's advanced enough to achieve that yet. Also fur, would be good.

I can understand some reasons why you might want one though I think it needs a few more years of work to come across more like a real cat. Honestly though does this do have kids cause I have a just got two kittens and I also have an autistic toddler. Yes he grabs at them but even in his worst melt downs he'd not grab a kitten by it tail, swing it around and throw them at the TV. Maybe some kids are different. Personally ill stick to a cat that can actually do cat things, like run about, properly play, lay down like they don't need a hip replacement. Snuggles that won't cause a brouse, no commit suicide off the kitchen table etc.

I would only buy it if it was a Mastercraft cat and it contained a full set of screwdriver ends and it was actually drill that comes to you when you call it.

Spent 1600.00 for my Grandson…now I am stuck with it. App only works when MarsCat is turned on. Reads that app is not compatible with my iPhone. Was able to change the eye color. Sits (collecting dust) in a basket bed.
