- Surf shops are the roots of the surf industry and one of the many shops that supports Pyzel Surfboards and more of the surf industry is ET Surfboards, located in Hermosa Beach, California since 1972.
Jon & JJF recently stopped by ET's shop on their way through LA to talk surfboards, learn more about the history of ET/Eddie Talbot and meet the crew.
Thanks for having us. 🤙
This is a great clip! Ya Dan!
I'm 50 now, and bought my first board at ET in the 80s. Still shop there because it's one of the best surf shops in California with the coolest staff.
Dan Conell, & the OG ET crew, such legends 💪🏽
I'm 53 now, my dad bought me my first surfboard there in 1980. I love that shop, real culture.
Love the concept of the video. Going to promote a legit good local place. Awesome 🤩
hands down the best surf shop in the south bay or even all of la or orange county ..........
This was sick. Gotta support these older core shops. They are treasures of surf cultures.
Stoked you got to visit E.T. Surf. I know Mr. Eddie Talbot very well, and I have the pleasure of getting to surf with him on a regular basis. The man is truly one of my favorite humas of all time. Stop by the shop and pay Dan and the boys a visit. They have EVERYTHING, and if they don't have it they'll order it for you. FANTASTIC crew.
My local surf shop! Love seeing ET get publicity.
I can't help and think of the great Dennis Jarvis when I think of ET Surfboards! Love you brother DJ...
My mom bought me my first surfboard ( no more hand me downs ) in 1981 from ET when I was 11 years old. An orange and yellow Dewey Weber twin fin. Great memories!
Legendary shop. Love ET
72 you guys made my first board. 5ft 10in kneeboard. Many years of fun. Pedro to Ila Vista. Many Thanks
Hands down the best surf shop, period. The history and culture of ET are important and easy to see but the crew working there is AMAZING!!! Dan Connell, Daniel, Sonny, Worm and the rest of the boys make that place what it is. I lost count of the boards (both surf and skate) I’ve bought from them. Even when I don’t need to buy anything, I’ll stop by from time to time just to say hi to the boys. They’re like family.
Core surf shop. Great employees & new/used rack. Always worth a stop in the South Bay 🤙🏻
I'll never forget buying my first thruster there- a used ET. They cut the price for me... a sad looking grom lusting over a board he didn't have enough cash to buy. The change from my beater twinnie to a thruster board blew my mind how much better it surfed, sent my stoke through the roof and closed the deal on what's been a lifetime addiction to the ocean. Rode that thing until it was completely water-logged and yellow. Thanks ET.... and Simon ; )
Here on the south coast of NSW Australia we had Skipp Surfboards. The shop was up on the street and the factory ( old horse stables originally ) was down the back. You could watch Ed shape your board, his skills to shape your vision. Then talk to Tommy ( who used to work for Tommy Peterson MP’s brother ) on how you wanted the board to be glassed. Then talk to Nel the sander on how sharp you want your rails. You were involved in the whole process. It was better than Xmas day
Love It ! Real surf shops are a lost thing. On Maui we got Hi Tec which is a long standing mom and pop core surf shop
Dan and Dan were my guys! They fueled my surfboard addiction for years... all my custom Mayhems
Bought a 7’4” ET pintail in spring of 1974…took it to Kauai and scored perfect Hanalei Bay late September of that year…those were amazing days
Best surf shop of all time
First surf shop I've ever been to, bought my first deck there and it's still as rad as it used to be!
❤ ET & LGKings!!
You kidding me, Dan’s the man! E.T. Surf is the most core shop in SoCal! It’s like a surfing museum. OG for decades! And the best guys and service, you run into them around town too. Kevin Anderson aka Worm, Dan, Sunny, Daniel, Tommy, etc. All knowledgeable and super cool, no attitude. I might look at other places, albeit rarely. But, I only buy from E.T.
This is exactly how surf shops were and still should be, not over commercialized corporate wannabes.
love to go and have a look at a real surf shop🔥
I'm 66 been buying surf gear since the seventies 😊
Very good place for surf gear in the South Bay. Friendly and stoked.
Got my first blank there in about 1973, gumby took me out to the shaping room and cut the plan shape for me and showed me how to shape
Bought my first wetsuit there in the late 70s. Still remember the smell of wax/wetsuits/surfboard resin when I walked in for the first time.
What a class looking place. An Alladdin's Cave.
Nice, let’s go hermosa beach 🤙🏽
I skated for Alva in the 80ʻs - did a demo there and was stoked by how genuine Ed and Theressa were!
i was there
One of my best core memories is walking through the front door back in the mid-80s and being greeted by the sweet smells of resin and sex wax.
so sick!!!!
Best surf shop in LA County by far
Throwback!
Sickkk
Dan 🤙🏽!
Nice!
Nice
How has anyone growing up in South Bay, surfing or skating during 80's... not been in this store?
Spyder kicking themselves rn for not carrying Pyzel
Used to steal shoes from there
