- I thought it would be fun to share some waves from this weekend in slow motion. To me it has always been interesting to see the the small details when it’s all slowed down.

True that. A kind of "fly in the champagne" vibe even tho the rivalry was never quite the same. Anyways, two best surfers in the world over the past decade in a single film makes a lot of sense.

Absolute masterpiece!! Erik is a genius, along with all of you. The slow motion such a great idea, really lets you see what's happening. Love seeing you guys freed up from the confines of wsl and having fun, taking risks without penalty. Loved that front side air to carve around 2:00. Bravo!!

Really excellent video. The surfing, videography, edit, and music are top of the game. I really like these kinds of videos that show/explain through slo-mo how far above these guys are surfing compared to every day Joes. A lot of people can do an air reverse. But no one is doing them at John John and crew’s level of performance and ability!

I love this - music is lovely and boosting those big airs, like whales breaching! Slow mo is super useful for seeing the compression into/out of airs, I'd be curious to know what the wind conditions were (I'm guessing some sort of cross-onshore mix?)

This just proves that Mr. J Florence is in a different world than the rest of the CT. Is there another surfer that would host--his most competitive opposition--on his channel just days before the first comp of the year? Slater will always be the best competitive surfer ever, but John is the best surfer in the world (period). If the WSL doesn't change the finals format, I believe JJ will be gone next year. Killer video! Baby Einstein hah!
