Great review. The have the 2 seat version. Love it but it’s super loud inside. Agreed about the speakers. I waisted $1000 for the speakers and stereo which you have to crank up way too high to hear it whilst driving. I just use my Bose noise canceling headset now…
You're so right! I hate to hear a UTV blasting music as it comes down the trail. A headset or earbuds is the way to go. You can't hear a regular stereo over the noise of the engine unless you crank it to an absurd level!
You think the commander is loud inside? Is is the first gen or the current one? If it’s the current one then you won’t be happy with any sxs. The commander is one of the quietest you can get.
That's a beautiful machine but the prices, c'mon, they're just too high to justify for many people now. I know several people that are holding on to their older ones because they refuse to pay the higher prices of the newer machines. A friend of mine just sold his older SxS with 20,000 km on it and he bought the same one that's 7 years old that had low miles. I think you're going to start seeing more of that kind of thing. I for one am just going to keep my old machine and keep fixing it. It's cheaper than buying a new one.
Just a buy a 4wd truck. Like an old jeep or ih scout or old toyota pickup and just take that out. The price point is just ridicules. This is nothing but a toy. It has no real utility like hauling, towing implements are anything related to food plotting and land management. Real good to tear up your land make problems to fix with real equipment, but again its a complete toy.
Great review thanks. I have a 2024 XTP but 2 seater and love it. Expensive unit but well worth the money. I don’t have the rear enclosure and seeing that I would lose the dump box capability, I wouldn’t want it. I don’t yet know what LED light bar or pods to purchase? It would be nice in another video that you give options and opinions. Thanks.
You realize this is the same machine as the mav sport? It’s has enough power. The clutching is very mellow. Plus you have a ton of accessories on this unit adding weight.
To bad about the drive line noise all Max Commanders have for the past several years though. I've spent over $1200 trying to get rid of mine (Exact same machine as this one) with two different service bulletin repairs that did not work.
Given that this now bigger than Wrangler (wheelbase) and they cost about as much, is there any real reason to buy this rather than a Wrangler? Can this type of sxs really do anything that a Wrangler can't? The Wrangler certainly can do a bunch of things this sxs can't - drive itself to the trailhead with needing a huge truck and trailer. The sxs is actually more capable off road, but you have to do something really quite extreme to find a task that the sxs can do that a Wrangler can't. I guess if you have money to burn, and a lot of land to cover you can find an excuse to buy whatever you want... And the door no longer closes right after a few hours of use?!?!? That makes even jeep quality control look good. Great review TK!
With the Defender Max and all the mods that you can do to it,there is no need of the Commander series at all! Who's going to put their kids in the back of one these and do high speed jumps with it? I do agree that tha Max series with the extra wheel base and weight, does need a bump in horsepower.
Because the Defender sits too upright and is cramped. It’s a utility vehicle. The commander sit more reclined and a trail first with the nicety of a dump bed. Same can and chassis as the Maverick sport trail only machine. And you’re right no one should race around with kids in the back seat but too many husbands purchases are co trolled by their wives and the family rig sells🤷🏻♂️ I dislike to look and size of any 4 seater do I can only speak to my 2 seat commander. I think there’s a place for all 4 of can ams 2 seat models in the market.
Stephen, the manufacturers are turning these things into a clown show. Who the hell could work in one of these contraptions? Bench seat, no doors and a dump box is all you need to get something done, simple formula. Got them at both jobs and at home with great success. Climbing in and out of those odd shaped doors and trying not to park too close to a fence or a tree so you can't get out is ridiculous. Backing up without side view mirrors is impossible, and looking thru those plastic windows is a crapshoot. From what I've gathered talking to customers and most of the sheep that do what others are doing because it's popular, I wait till they mix in some of the bottled and canned spirits to the equation. Buy the wreck as cheap as possible and make money off the parts! Thanks sheep.
Most people aren’t contractors or ranch owners so they don’t need to hop their unfit bodies in and out 30 times a day. These machines are for trail recreation with the Swiss army option of utility.
@@atvseatexchange2176 weird take. If the target audience of side by sides were those focused on using them for work, the industry would be 1% the size that it currently is. Some people have an inner child that is alive and well, both able to maintain a sense of humour while making decisions to spend their money on products that they consider “fun”. There are plenty of other products out there specifically designed for work. Your apparent need to insult other people that want to go for rips up the mountainside seriously puts into question your self-description of being a “big, strong man”. Not fooling anybody.
funny because we use ours on our 400 acre farm everyday, then take it out to rip on the trails when the day is done. 2000lbs towing capacity pulls a 10ft trailer full of feed or hay, dump bed holds whatever tools we need for the day, ground clearance and the larger tires gets us in and out the washes. Your kawasaki mule wont make it where we take ours....just saying
Ive owned this same machine for a cpl years now and after 400 hrs in the driver seat and many upgrades. Its the perfect sxs. Well done can am..👏
Excellent, now you have to take a Can Am Defender Max and do the same thing, would be interesting how close or far apart they are in all aspects.
Great 1st review. Hitting on the things that are important to potential buyers.

love the upper soft doors does anyone know where these can be purchased?
Is it me/the angle or did you bend/crack that front driver's side wheel? 8:10 - 8:11 for reference.

A wrangler goes about 5 mph down the trail. Also a lot of trails don’t allow orvs.

Can you get any more HP on it? If so, how?
did I miss the top speed run?
Is it suitable for war?
Or even a 3 seat Defender

@@Captndarty Unfit you say, my best afternoon I was able to do 750 pushups while walking around a track, at 25 per set. 6ft 4in 210 lbs.
Bro not everyone works like you. For me a unit like this would be 90% fun and the occasional yard duty. This is perfect for me.

Goggles? Really
There’s always at least one 🤡 in the comment section. What’s it to you if he wears goggles?
I want one
