I've used the 13 Pro and have to admit, it takes wonderful images. My mom's friend has it and we took some photos with it yesterday. The 3x Portrait is so good! If you have an iPhone 13 model, keep it. It does well for the price and well worth it. Save your money for the 15's coming out in 4 months!
I upgraded from XR to 14 Pro, of course a big improvement.. but you never mentioned the 48 mp RAW possibility, for me as a photographer it’s a game changer. But that’s not for everyone of course.
You're completely right. It is a definite advantage that the 14 Pro series have; but as you mentioned, it's for the minority of users who actually understand and care enough to use this mode. Because of time restrictions, we try to have set categories that we can compare the devices for most people. We hope you still enjoyed the video though!
Doesn't iPhone allow models 12 on to use Pro Raw, or am I missing something else?

Wow, surprising picture results. If I owned a 13P, I would be hanging on to it.
The reason I can think of why 4K video looks better on the 13 is that it has bigger 12megapixels, whereas the 14 needs to quad bin its 48 megapixels to reach more sensitivity to light. They can do that in photography, but with live 4K video it's a lot tougher to do.
This also popped into our heads, but it's always better to be aware and also ask the opinion of you lovely people!
@@Versusdotcom Very true! With the regular 14 having the the same sensor of the 13Pro but with all the new camera software updates I guess it would be an interesting 3 way comparison between the 13pro, 14 and 14 pro if this is really the case.

This is what I have been saying. The 13 pro max when done right is not a slouch at all. The images are great and it shows the 14 pro max was not a huge leap in the camera dept. I saw this when I tested the two side by side. The 13 pro max is two years old and still competes with devices that are newer
I have 13 pro from iphone SE 2 ./14 pro is super dark camera shot and also no option for HDR photos its auto HDR. But honestly ilove my 13 pro that has 1 terabyte memory .

Im not sure what happened to iphone 14 getting worse in colour as it becomes more cyanish than the old 13. And the contrast is a bit too strong in iphone 14. The old iphone 13 looks more pleasant to me. I know 14 pro got advantage due to 48MP RAW for some serious photography. But for general audience like most people would prefer 13 Pro over it.

It’s very inconsistent unfortunately there are situations in which it does much better like having 2x portrait, the front focus etc but I can confirm the macro issue I tried it with a friend and everything you said is true…it’s much easier to take macro photos on the 13 pro
Don’t know what you’re on about. I’ve been taking loads of macro shots on the 14 pro max and it works a dream. I have captured some truly amazing macro photos.
@@ESKATEUK This was when the phone 14 came out and compared to an iPhone 13 Pro in some situations on the iPhone 13 Pro it was much easier to gain focus on the subject, several people reported this in videos, not sure if it has been fixed but I didn’t test it again
@@ESKATEUK The iPhone Pro 13 has a closer minimum distance to subject, something like ~2" closer than the Pro 14+. That doesn't mean no macro, only that the iPhone Pro 13 made it a bit easier to get up close before entering macro mode. The explanation I found is that the bigger the sensor, the further one must be away from the subject due to the lens design.

I upgrade my S20+ to IPhone 13Pro for this year it’s simple but 13Pro in front & back camera incredible
The disparity comes from not knowing how to take pictures with all the rearranged and embedded features of the 14 pro. I was livid thinking my 13 pro took better picture but once I learned how to take pictures with the 48mp raw and use the photographic styles I was amazed. I have to say that I not keen of having to have had to learn and tweak a lot of things to take excellent photos but can’t deny the great quality. Your average Jack and Jill unfortunately won’t know how to fully utilize the newer iPhones. That’s why the 13 pro is no brainer for people who just want to point n shoot.
I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max Deep Purple 512 GB Storage last week then was able to sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max Sierra Blue (256 GB Variant locked 🔐 by my local carrier). I am very satisfied with this phone's camera and software performance goven that I still have my Android phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chipset 📱

The regular 14 has some improvement compared to the regular 13, but very slight that are almost unnoticeable for most people
Fantastic video but just to be clear is this the iPhone 13 Pro or the iPhone 13 Pro Max (depending on where one reads the description refers to both.). I had issues running this video full-screen (somewhat pixelated on a Retina display, 27") but nonetheless could appreciate the differences in detail (especially in the shadow areas) and the warmer (especially skin tones) look of the iPhone Pro 13 vs. Pro 14, so if 12 megapixels are compared to 12 megapixel - excluding the 48MP/RAW, which isn't reviewed here - to my eye the Pro 13 (Max?) comes out on top.
Q: Does anything substantially change between the 14 Pro and the 15 Pro? I'd be curious to see how the 13 Pro holds up to the 15 Pro because other than the improved image stabilization and cinema quality video, I'm not sure the cameras changed all that much for still photos between the Pro 14 and 15
i have 14pro but didnt like the quality of pictures so i moved down to 13 pro and super satisfied

For me I don't like the notch iphone since iphone 10. For 14 pro/max I prefer the dynamic island huge upgrade from the notch , auto focus , 48mp, action mode, 4k cinematic.

So where is the 48 mp? Raw comparison pixel peep for detail/noisereduction and color ? So many things that were not included
Everything that the majority of users benefit from is included. While what you mentioned is definitely something that can be compared, you need to be realistic about the % of users that actually understand and care about those features. Another problem we have is time restrictions, both with production and how long the video is.

I feel like the pictures of 13 pro can be sharp as the 14 when you took it with the leaves it looks blurry. I take amazing pics on my iPhone 13 Pro and it’s sharp and nice
but I’m keeping my 13 pro. 14 pro is nice with some improvements I’ll admit but it isn’t worth it if you already have the 13 pro/max unless you take pictures a lot and love all that extra zoom detail then switch

Yeap, macro sucks at ip14. Hwever u enable the option, at a point it will be auto on/off.
The fact that .how many times i commented..but he never uses 3x tele for potrait..which make me little sad..cause 3x tele potrait..can show lot more quality photo thay 1 x

If you're not a photographer or content creater 13 pro is better choice. And if you like warmer skin tones go for 13 pro. If you like cooler and sharper tone def 14 pro.

13 can achieve 14 images results by enabling the rich contrast mode and 14 can also enable that vibrant look of 13 enabling the vibrant mode 😂
This is so true! As soon as I got wind of the “vibrant” and “warm” my brain was so relieved and confused at the same time 😅
Footage means video, you keep saying footage for photos as well...
To be honest, the general usage of the term is way looser than how it used to be; but traditionally, you are correct in saying that footage does in fact specifically mean video. It takes some time getting used to changing the way you speak.

The 14 pro is just a better camera. I have been doing photography for 10 years with DSLR cameras, and have just invested in a 14 pro max. My closest mate has a 13 pro max so I asked if I could compare the cameras. The 14 pro max was better in many ways. The colour accuracy was spot on, the low light was better, and if put into 48mp raw mode, it was in a league of its own. The macro shots were also more detailed. There are various other improvements they have also made. The 13 pro is in no way a better camera phone.
I like how Apple user use words like "way better" because as usual they exaggerate on shit they nothing about.

I'm not a photography expert....but since I've had both and I take a lot of pictures which I upload to Social media the 14 pro it had more details in the photos, in the night ones it had more brightness while on the contrary in the 13Pro The photos were more yellow the darker.. with more noise... Where there was a difference was in the zoom... better at 14Pro...
