I was out on my customary walk this morning and my Walkman radio was ticking away at a low volume when this piece of music emerged: what an enchanting creation, seguing into a musical treat, after the sensuous beginning. I never knew Mendelssohn had a sister let alone a musical one! Excellent rendition!
Listened to the cycle Das Jahr with the Ukrainian pianist Anna Shelest...it is really beautiful and the Hiob cantate by Remmereit....There are others performances obviously but these two are the best ...in my opinion.
