I just love the delicateness of the harpsichord in the background. Or is it really in the background? To me this is baroque. I used to know a friend from such a young age, 12 or so who's parents were music teachers and he took up the cello, he drifted away from all of us as he got accepted To Julliard and didn't go to our graduation. Later he became a member of the Milwaukee symphony orchestra but very sadly got MS at age 46 or so and died at age 56. I can't imagine the effect of him not being able to play any longer at such a young age. Now when I hear this music I wonder what were his favorites? Back then we didn't have texts or E-mail so could not keep in touch.

Very interesting choices. But what about Truls Mørk? To me his recordings is supurb.

A really fine top 10. All superb in their own way (although I'm yet to listen to the Pandolfo, so thanks for bringing that to my attention). Another recording I enjoy listening to is by David Watkin - a great testament to his artistry.

Schön alles mal am Stück durch zu hören. Ich finde man hätte aber lieber ein Bandoneon gewählt der Klang des Akkordeons wird diesen Komposition bei weiten nicht gerecht.
