The news anchor has no idea of the significance of Apa Sherpa. She can't even fake genuine interest. Sad, because Apa Sherpa is a hero & inspiration. I'd be in awe of the man.
With all due respect to the lady... I don't think she should even be sitting there on the same level as Mr Sherpa. Let alone asking irrelevant and limp questions... If only she had the capacity to know who he is and what he has done.

I was fortunate and honored to have stopped and have tea at Apa Sherpa’s tea house on my way to Everest. I was in awe of what he had on display… his O2 tanks, parkas, ice axes, etc
He climbed annapurna before everest. At everest non experiensed tourists can summit if the have deep pockets as the sherpas will do 95% of the job.. At annapurna only experienced climbers summit and its much more demanding. Everest fatality rate is 3% vs annapurna 34 %..k2 is another beast of a Mountain that claims 26 % of the climbers who attempt it
The wealthy whites claim the victory when it's the POC who did most of the work to make that victory happen/ Why not just hand the microphones to the sherpa/Sherpa. We get the reality from them.
Much respect for both these gentlemen. All the sherpa's, porter's and other supporting staff who make an Everest summit possible, should be paid more than the absolute best for risking their own lives for someone else's dreams. The majority of folks who have been to the top of Everest, K2, Annapurna, etc, would not of been able accomplish it without the sherpa's and porter's.
