    I know this is old but so fun to watch. By far one of the most destructive sequence of possessions in an NBA Finals. Not just a 9-2 run to put the game out of reach but a redemption for Splitter via poster block, Spoelstra has to burn two timeouts in less than two minutes, not to mention driving all the Spurs fans nearly delirious.

    If you don’t believe that GSW mirrored this concept but just had more effective weapons (Curry and Klay’s shooting & Dray/Iggy decision making and passing) then you’re crazy. Yes GSW has prob 2 of the best shooters of all time but their ball movement is what really made them great and that was taught by these Spurs

    • @cuspcham
      @cuspcham ปีที่แล้ว

      And people don't understand how great Spurs' offense in the 2014 playoffs. GSW's ball movement and offense predicates on the gravity of Curry, and they have one of the best shooters Klay Thompson in league history. The 2014 Spurs, on the other hand, at best have a border-line superstar in Tony Parker and that's it. They have no one who has the gravity of Curry and Klay. All they have is smart understanding of the game and hive-like teamwork. They really peak at the best possible moment. It's insane to watch, and it speaks to the experience and resolve of the team.

    One of the most underrated things about this sequence is that ALL 5 Spurs players contributed a major play in this sequence.
    Tiago had the amazing block on Wade.
    Diaw draws the defense in and dishes the assist to Mills for the 1st 3.
    Ginobili with the quick assist to Mills for the 2nd 3.
    Leonard with the rebound and again another quick assist to Ginobili for the final 3.
    Truly was a team effort.

    I attended Game 4 of the 2013 Finals when the Spurs lost to the Heat. I was sitting in the 8th row center court, so it was a special experience, but the loss was a horrible one.
    Fast forward one year. I'm back at the AT&T Center for Game 5 of the 2014 Finals, this time up in the nosebleeds. The Heat jump out to a big lead early, something like 28-6 in the first quarter. I think to myself, "Oh no. It's happening again."

    This has to be one of the most devastating 6-possession stretches in NBA Finals history. In two minutes, the series is, barring a miracle, over. Not that the 14-point lead they started the run with really wasn't already a good cushion, but that kind of lead can dwindle very quickly in NBA basketball. It's not just that they take such a massive lead, but just the crowd noise and the way that they just refused to give Miami an inch made it all the more of a knockout punch. The way, after Bosh does a decent job stemming the tide with his bucket, but Ginobili just literally puts his head down and charges right back down looking for more blood is representative of the killer instinct that the Spurs had this whole series.

      k yells ummmm maybe because Lebron dominates the ball lol 😂 how many times does Bosh get post touches? Ummm Bosh literally said Miami ran 0 plays for him, in retrospect the Bulls would give the ball to Bill Wennington and Dennis Rodman in the post in the triangle because it was a team offense, meanwhile Bosh who’s way more talented a scorer has to just set picks or sit in the corner R.I.P Kevin Love, D Wade gets the ball how does Lebron space the floor for him? He doesn’t because he’s not a great outside shooter, Wade likes to drive and have the ball in his hand surrounded by shooters just like Bron does, the difference is when Bron has the ball Wade at least consistently would back cut at least making it where his defender couldn’t help on Bron, Bron is also a great cutter but he doesn’t do it as often as Wade and he also gets more possessions with the ball because he’s better than Wade, Lebron literally punked all you fans and the shits hilarious just watch their possessions and then watch the spurs or other winning team possessions like the Warriors, Phil Jackson teams etc and look at how many guys that aren’t the star players real chances to make plays, get pick and rolls for them, get the ball in the post, get isolations, how much the ball swings and it’s not just Lebron has it, stands at the top, people run around, when he passes then they shoot, Lebrons style is great for his personal assists and points terrible for winning games

    For how good Kawhi, Duncan and Tony was in this series. Boris Diaw, Manu and Mills were EASILY as effective. You could tell everyone on the SPURS WANTED THIS

    Like many others, I am quite sure, I (absolutely) hated the Miami Heat then. So, I was really quite glad for the Spurs here and then. The Spurs were quite dominant in this series, as a whole, indeed. I will say, also, though, that immediately after James decided to depart from the Miami Heat, I no longer hated the Miami Heat at all.

    Duncan over Lebron, over Wade, over Shaq, and over Kobe. Anytime to start a team. Only players I take over him will be magic, bird, Jordan, Hakeem , wilt , Kareem, Russell. Now it also depends on rules and 3 point shot . and other factors because

    Bang!! A LeBron team getting punked…not one time, not 2, not 3…not 6, not 7! 😅LeBron looked like a lost puppy after Manu’s 3. Is this your King/GOAT? MJ may have lost a playoff series…but he never got punked, and run outta the gym…especially if he would have had 2 other all stars/hall of famers on his team. Go Spurs go!! MJ 🐐
